  • Still in my top ten of best Raptracks ever made, I am 36 years old now, listening to Rapmusic for more then 20 years now, and still the Golden Era was the best!! Todays Rapmusic is not what it used to be, there is no soul in it. I miss it, I really do.

  • @ the break @ 3:15 its "numbers" by kraftwerk but slowed down

  • Its not numbers, I have wanted to know what that break is for over 20 years, I remember hearing the track they must have got it from a few times, that same break and had a sample of eddie murphy from his comedy act, the ice cream joke, and he is saying 'Throw down some money' over that lil break.

Anyone know wtf that track is?

  • @photonprojector the track youre after is mi casa by the centerfield assignment

  • Though I do concede a bit of that break is indeed numbers, but the beef behind it another track, which I would love to know the name of.

  • @photonprojector the house track is not numbers but in fact a track called My Casa by, ......something project i use to have it but had it nicked with a load of other wicked acid house ,i cannot for the life of me remember the full artist name but its definitely that, i remember trainspotting it at some mental acid house party and bought it the next day

  • I used to rap to the instrumentle bk in the early 90s, wicked

I still got 2 copies on 12", I think they were imports

  • I'v never seen this Thanks for posting, I guess the music was here before they tried to make videos to try and sell it, I didnt really notice how corny the vids were back then cause I only played the records, but corny is good, its fun, everyones comparing to the new excessive spoilt cashed up vids, But that bottom end beat and the Twins smooth buzzing vocals, unbeatable, got me two copies from 1990,,Defend real Hiphop

  • 3:15 bring acieed house back ! fucking awesome tune !!!!!

  • For real. That's my favorite part! "For those about to groove" is all like that. These guys make modern rap sound like crap because that's what most of it is

  • My man below me knows his shit. The original sample is from Sexmanics by Bobby Knight. Just saw him at the 35th Hip Hop Culture Anniversary on Nov,15,2009.Afrika Bambaata brought him out on stage and gave him props. That record was used by Kool G Rap,EPMD,Twin Hype, etc.FUUUUUNKY!!!

  • damn it we need to bring back the artists of real hip hop...and throw away the trash that is out today...

  • Boom! you hit it on the Head cuz.. hip hop now sucks, it have been deluted by lollipop rappers.

  • Twin Hype....I remember these cats. They ever really got on, but they had an interesting concept being twins etc. Man, feeling old.

  • Wow... such memories, and it's still as hot as ever. This song took my breath away when I first heard it, and started my love affair with HOUSE Music.

    I LOVE THIS!!!!

  • yeah this was hard ! i think i was like 6

  • anyone know where the bassline is sampled from?

  • bassline i believe is bobby knight-sexmaniacs, the "do it" is do it to the music-raw silk, "yeah dope"eric b and rakim, flute part is Area Code 615 "Stone Fox Chase", dynamic corvettes-funky music, nairobi-funky soul makossa, george of the jungle and mighty mouse-tv tunes, pe, bdp, and others are on here too. this is off memory from 20 years ago

  • You know your shit, awesome spotting :)

  • @anthillmob "Can you feel the beat" - Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam (?)

Have always loved this sample-haevy stuff. UK was doing it better at that time with Bomb The Bass, Coldcut, etc

  • Classic track still bangin today...

  • The anatomy of "M.A.R.R.S. -Pump up the volume. This guy broke down every single sample used in that record. I'd love to see someone figure out every sample used in here. Shameek got some serious bits hidden perfectly in this track...I caught the "Yo Little Brother", "Key West" & "Bostich"..

Lisa Lisa, Eddie Murphy, Kid-N-Play, Public Enemy - Everything just fit so perfectly. Major inspiration for everything I touched in 89/90....Thanks for that... classic no doubt.

  • I Would like to see someone re-invent the 90's style of hip hop,

so i don't have to listen to the garbage there playing today!

  • Oooooooooooooooooh shit! Classic,bad-ass hiphop on all you newshool listenin' motherfuckers. This is real hiphop that can still get the dancefloor jumpin. Authentic.....sold gold.....in your face-ass hiphop.

  • I think Twin Hype caught a bad case and had to do some time, but they were dope. You had groups like Snap, and C&C music factory getting all the airplay. Now the "suits" see the money but they promote the garbage.

  • there was massive airplay for twin hypes two best songs in specialized radio shows. same for gangstarr.
