im no cock who thinks he knows better., but real race drivers prefer to use left foot for clutch only thus enabling quick gear shifting giving greater torque making up for a slow throttle response and giving more control over the ride. don't believe me go ask a v8 supercar driver or NASCAR driver. he will tell you personally

Cool set-up. Looks pretty expensive though. I mean those racing seats can be anywhere from £200 to over £800, and they don't even come with a wheel! The G27 is like over £200 as well.

@pater, of course, when consoles like that come out they can play games like some of the best gaming rigs in pc land. However they are build to be sold for 5 years. In those 5 years PC's evolve while the console stays the same till the day they are replaced with a new one. However, most people I know don't upgrade their PC every month, most not even on a yearly base. And also cost vs cost the consoles are realy good. Playing new games without having to fuck arround hardwar and settings and shit.

@Jayeeyee there is no 'feel' in the wheel, you can't adjust the settings to help, the graphics are sick, but in terms of realisticness, it fails. driving on GTR2 is like driving a real car, you can take what you learn to the track. if you doubt this, why do formula 1 teams use simulators to practice? "just buy a real car and drive" what do you mean, go to track days? slightly different price range.

the Gran Tourismo games are for pussies, look at the way you're driving, carrying way too much speed into the corners, allowing you to overtake, and even though you have the assists turned off, the game still saves you. in a 'real' car, you'd be in the fucking barrier after most of those corners. listen to the tyre squeal, thats the game telling you, you're doing it wrong. buy a real game like GTR evolution, then you'l find out what its like to drive a 'real' car at those speeds.

The Shifter belongs on the right side, you want the hand on the wheel that has the most control / strength which on most people is the right hand, hence you use the left hand to change gear and right hand on wheel at all times.

sorry i wasnt clear on that one, your meant to have your right hand on the wheel because most people are right handed and therefore that will be your strongest hand so when you have to make split decisions like avoiding a car, your strongest hand (RIGHT) will be easier to do it with than your weaker hand (LEFT).
