  • the term shredder is just ridiciolous. Its like the term, has reached some kind of "stereotypical" approach. Words on youtube are being raped, and its so stupid. Just like the 13243240 metal genre descriptions that spawned trough youtube + all the guitar masters sitting behind their words. How can it be that we dont have more musicians like Friedman around, with all theese Merlins on youtube

  • to thoose against shredding on a guitar : go burn in hell

  • really bad quality :(

  • eres dios marty friedman

  • Marty IS a shredder. He became that in his Cacophony days. Speed Metal Symphony is a great example, aswell as The Ninja and Concerto. Shredding isn't a bad thing, it's just alot of people like yngwie can't break out of the same scale/style. Marty manages to be able to play EVERYTHING and that imo makes him one of the superior guitarist alive. If only more people knew who he is.

  • I love the way Marty plays with all these scales and modes. A true master.

  • if you had watched marty frioedman's guitar lessons you would know that marty is not a fan of following scales and modes, he thinks scales and modes just limit your music.

  • Marty is one of the few shredders that still make every note count.

  • That's such a disrespectful comment

Marty is a musician not a shredder.

  • I personally don't look at the title of shredder as disresectful. It just a word that refers to the amount of techniique that person accumalated over the years. Hell Marty is a monster player and that's what the term shredder refers to. Of course as in all genres of music there are players that suck and shred hasmore than their share of those as well, but Marty isnt ine of themfor sure. If anyone doubts that just listen to the Dragons Kiss lp!

  • well it seems like we have different definitions of shredding. From what i've seen from 99% of shredders, shredding is lack of knowledge and talent, which forces the guitar player to play fast. Everyone can play fast, it just takes practices, but in order to make good music you need to have that special talent, and lots of knowledge.

  • But that applies to all types of music. There are guys with no thechnique that have tons of soul ie Leslie West in the 70's or Peter Green Michael Bloomfield and there tons of shitty players playing in bars tring to pass off their lame attempt as the blues. Then there are guys with limitless abilities that are also musical like Shawn Lane, Al DiMeola, Brett Garsed. Then there are guys in the Shredder Genre that are amazing musicians like Vinne Moore , Tony MacAlpine Jason Becker. And there are...

  • @aryaxt ?? what are you babbling about. To become fast and contolled you need to go trough lots of techniques. Even to be a stable and tight shredder, you need to go trough slower and controlled techniques. Lack of knowledge? knowledge at what??????

  • ... shitty players in that genre of music as well. It's just what you like.

  • Shred by definition does not mean playing fast, but playing complex. You seem to not understand the definition of the word "shreder" ;)

  • Allan Holdsworth/ Frank Zappa/ Farank Gambale are as complex as they come, are they considered shredders? In my opinion it comes down to the style of music, the attitude and the technique involved and the sound.

  • Gambale is one hell of a shreder. Holdsworth is not considered a shreder as i have not seen him shred on guitar. Zappa i dont know very well. I can tell you who shreds.

Greg Howe, personaly the best fusion guitar player ever and one of the most well rounded guitar players. Kotzen, Vai, Beach...all shreders. I also do not consider the like of Fareri and MAB to be shreders as they are mindless guitar wankers. Guitar wanking =/= Shreding

  • If you consider Gambale a shredder, then Holldsworth is definitely one. His legato is insanely clean and fast.

  • The section starting at 2:15 is amazing...

God, this is so much better than Megadeth. Way to go Marty.

  • definitivamente una d elas mejores

  • this song needs cow bell

  • What song doesn't?

  • @Julieisded Shutup!

  • marty is my best friend

  • Marty Friedman is unique

  • amo esta cancion

  • Great song, great dupla w/ Jens Johanson

  • and thats a fact

  • this is the best song on earth thank god for posting this!

  • Amazing song....

  • The keyboard solo at 1:44 is just...brilliant...so haunting...

  • Good thing he decide to leave Megadeth, to write equally impressive (or more so) solo music. I think Dave Mustaine would've caved in Marty's head w/ Friedman's old Jackson Kelley if he pitched this song to him as a new Megadeth track...Awesome song btw.

  • hey thanks a lot for post this song on youtube..

i love this love very much
