Pop songs almost always have guitar/keyboards/synthesizers (mostly synthesizers), and are upbeat ( easy to dance to). This is not an upbeat song, and no synthesized fart noises either.
And I wasn't just talking about how the song sounded, I meant the meaning behind the lyrics too. A lot of popular songs are about partying, or very unoriginal love stories.

this is one of the most emotion evoking FF songs in the franchise.
Its not my favorite but it has a certain emotional power you have to appreciate.
I love how the stories from X and 13 have brought back a lot of that deep emotional connection in the characters that classic titles like 6 and 7 had.
I hope the next installment is as awesome as it looks.

@rav3nclawz It's true. Neither of the versions are better, it's a matter of taste, but Jade is certainly more expressive than Koda Kumi. It's probably a culture thing. Not that I dislike the humbleness and reserve of the Japanese. It's just this arrangement is so powerful and passionate, that it's a sin to withhold emotions.

But Western music ranges much more often, the party/sex music and so forth is indeed much more prevalent, but liberty is given, and people sing what they want more often. Because people often get to do what they want, you get the bad music, and you get the people who really are singing what they want --often much more emotional too.
@Daroga1 also, I like Kingdom Hearts Sanctuary and Simple & Clean, they were written in English first, and translated to Japanese. But I like both of course. Utada is a fine exception, ranging in all levels.

I listened to Orchestrated version and the normal version. I just feel the Orchestra version doesn't really capture the despair in the lyrics. It almost sounds "happy" at sadder portions of the song. I would think if the instruments were orchestrated better it may be better, but I do not prefer this rendition.
True, the original version does sound more tragic, thusly more fitting, but it's fitting at the time Yuna sings it. Come the end of the game, however, everyone has come to a consensus/catharsis and is, at long last, at peace. This version is fitting for the happily ever after feel of the end while the original version definately stresses the tragedy and sadness of the rest of the game in moments. They're both in place in my opinion.
this song makes me think of this girl I am in love with, I am a little young but who cares... I know I love her. Her eyes glisten like the moonlight, and I love the entire feeling of just being around her. She is the only one who believes in me and understands me like how Yuna understood Tidus and believed him when he said he was from Zanarkand. A agree with one of the posters on that this girl doesnt have the vocal capacity to sing this song to its potential. In certain parts you can hear her voice getting overshadowed by the orchestra, which should NEVER happen.
She's a great singer, but only someone like Leona Lewis can really hit those high notes and take the song to its highest level... just me 2 cents :P

I love this song and I've never played the game!!! I think this is the best version out of them all just because it's only Jade's voice. The backup singers in the other version are ok but this is like the pure Jade.

I'd say that it's Yuna's and Lenne's song. It takes back to the time where Both Shuyin and Tidus found their love and protected each other through whole way. (probrably similiar for Shuyin and Lenne)

I listened to Orchestrated version and the normal version. I just feel the Orchestra version doesn't really capture the despair in the lyrics. It almost sounds "happy" at sadder portions of the song. I would think if the instruments were orchestrated better it may be better, but I do not prefer this rendition.

True, the original version does sound more tragic, thusly more fitting, but it's fitting at the time Yuna sings it. Come the end of the game, however, everyone has come to a consensus/catharsis and is, at long last, at peace. This version is fitting for the happily ever after feel of the end while the original version definately stresses the tragedy and sadness of the rest of the game in moments. They're both in place in my opinion.

I see your point. Iunno, the key memory incased with this song is the scene in the Thunderplains with the memories of Lenne and her tragedy.

this song makes me think of this girl I am in love with, I am a little young but who cares... I know I love her. Her eyes glisten like the moonlight, and I love the entire feeling of just being around her. She is the only one who believes in me and understands me like how Yuna understood Tidus and believed him when he said he was from Zanarkand. If I ever had to say goodbye I don't know what I would do...

A agree with one of the posters on that this girl doesnt have the vocal capacity to sing this song to its potential. In certain parts you can hear her voice getting overshadowed by the orchestra, which should NEVER happen.
She's a great singer, but only someone like Leona Lewis can really hit those high notes and take the song to its highest level... just me 2 cents :P

I love this song and I've never played the game!!! I think this is the best version out of them all just because it's only Jade's voice. The backup singers in the other version are ok but this is like the pure Jade.

Lol.. The ending (before Chapter 5 ends) doesn't quite go this way. It's Piano acoustic. But i really wish that they could put this song right when Lenne reunites with Shuyin. That be really nice.

I'd say that it's Yuna's and Lenne's song. It takes back to the time where Both Shuyin and Tidus found their love and protected each other through whole way. (probrably similiar for Shuyin and Lenne)

this song makes me cry just like ff x and ff x-2 the chemistry between yuna and tidus is the same as lenne and shuyin its just so amazing and yes people technically theyre the same people.
