  • @ywaham Docking the dough allows the pizza to release extra air during the cooking process so that it does not form excessive bubbles. Papa Johns Insider here. It helps us in the long run, I know it's not traditional

  • Anything Papa Johns or Domino's or Pizza Butt, etc.... does I know is wrong. I hate commercial pizza. Nothing about it is good. The crust is flavorless and dry, the sauce is either sugary or too salty and the toppings are crap. Toss the dough, don't toss the dough...who cares if is isn't worth eating either way.

  • Yeah, we're not supposed to throw the dough at Domino's either--again, specifically told not to in the orientation.

    If you do it improperly, then it thins out the center.

    If you do it properly, you're stretching out the crust, which is what you're supposed to do. (Just put your hands at 12/6 o'clock on the pizza, dominant at 12. Make sure your hands are by the crust, and not the center, and then use your dominant hand to spin, and your non-dominant to steady the throw.)

    We do it anyways.

YOUR WRONG... Use proper hand washing procedures, then sanitizer then make pizza... cook thru 430 degree oven which would kill any bacteria IF ANY left that escaped. Then when you cut the pizza THEN YOU USE GLOVES... Go to your health inspector and he will say the same thing!

Not wearing gloves while you cut a pizza is nothing compared to the nonsense that pizza places may do such as selling expired food(often), not washing hands at all(often), and what the delivery driver will do to a pizza that he's taking to a nontipping customer(often). calma.

  • i work at papa johns, and i can tell you that you are doing it all wrong. It needs to be docked more than that. it needs to be edge locked on the top side then flipped over to do the streching. not that its bad or anything but when you throw them in the air they are not circles like a good skin would be. You are also not allowed to throw them in the air.

    Most cities require gloves only for "Ready to eat" food. Most, if not all pizza places don't wear gloves but wash there hands all the time. Any germs that may make it on the pie will be killed off in an over over 400 degrees.

  • You can pre make skins. They are just as good as ones just slapped out.

    Also just because people toss there dough (of course PJ's says you shouldn't), doesn't mean it will be thin. A good tosser can toss dough without making the center thin.

  • 5.15 an hour and 1.3(depending on gas prices) per delivery. some times you can do pretty well on a shift and make around $15 and hour after you figure everything in, but that does not include the gas and wear and tear on your vehicle

  • it also depends what part of town you live in. The drivers at the store I work at make a decent amount in tips, but drivers at stores close to me make little in tips.
