  • epic. gr8 job, been loving this song for years. the one on v!meo sounds better though

  • facts about russia sans the american deceptions...i grew up with nuclear clouds on commercials on television and of course the lies of ronald regan with his red hot poker and american / russian statistics and carte blanche for the military industrial complex which they got anyway...can't fight em, join em

  • why not? i heard those russian chicks are superhotties! love ya all night long man!

  • bAcK AgAiN iN sPiTe Of YoU aLl...2 SaY that Bob Smiles Eternally Upon you from Multiple pleasure saucers he's rather busy with the triple breasted love goddesses at the moment and will GeT baCk 2 U at the earliest possible cOnVeNiEnCe --- Prophets of Bob

  • this is really incredible but i dont think you know why. my friend from the machine shop in tucson and my friends from frisco all loved negative land all the way from the beginning through the present and into the future whatever. u2 did a fairly decent job of banning them? and noone would give them mainstream attention but their style, Collage, is just as valid and wonderful as any other...they disturb you, they move you, and they even rock the house...legendary industrial, really

  • Never trust a woman from the former USSR.

  • WA6ODB....with...a question....

  • is that Ted Koppel's voice?

and how did he ever end up talking to such a geeb?

  • we have too many time zones. it's ridiculous.

  • So what is your point, So what is your point.

    ELEVEN

    Thanks for the good thoughts.

  • Wait ... someone made a video for "Time Zones"?

Wait! It's actually a damn good video?!

    THAT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY.

  • We got so much power now. It's not even funny.

    ELEVEN.

  • I had to listen to this. All day Ive been saying eleven.

  • chibbbo: I've loved Negativeland since I bought "Helter Stupid" when I was a pup. Great choice. E-L-E-V-E-N...priceless!!!

  • Try listening to A big 10-8 place fully secluded from anything. That rocked my world 25 years ago...

But the "eleven" stays in your head forever!

  • Thurs...theres two things you dont talk about, one is politics and the other one is religion, the....the reson you dont talk about them is because they combine in each other....Thats why we need to have computers..cause no man is perfect....

This video is insane...Negativland is my favorite band.....it just dosent get any better than this like a coke and a smile

  • Don't you kid yourself.

  • a beat wood be nice

  • Would? Wood? What?

  • a beat wood be nice.....if that confuses you........your stupid

  • Wood, spelled that way refers to wood! As in trees! Would, spelled that way is what I assume your talking about....Hopefully

And, also. I beat wouldn't be nice. You totally don't understand the point of the song.

If that confuses you, you're stupid.

  • lighten up teacher...

  • We've got so much power.

There's two things you don't talk about.

  • My bad on the NVS!

Again, great work on this one!

    Eleven

  • Great, great video! Super work!

Your Clock has the letters NVS. It should read NBS. NBS = National Bureau of Standards, now NIST. Easy to hear the B as a V in the audio.

  • Thanks! Well, it was discussed with Negativland during the making of the video in 2002, and according to their transcription it was NVS...

  • Great Video!

Your clock has the letters NVS. It should be NBS. The B sounds like a V in the audio. NBS = National Bureau of Standards, now NIST.

  • I do love the different antennae at the end, a very nice touch.

  • I remember first hearing Escape From Noise back when it came out. I got into Negativland because I saw Jerry Garcia and Mickey Hart from The Grateful Dead credited with appearing on the album, so i picked it up. Naturally, you can't actually TELL they're there, but I've been told every single person credited with guesting on the album actually do appear on it.

I've been lucky enough to see the band in concert twice. In fact, the second time, Mark Hosler actually remembered me!

  • How many time zones?

We have 4 in this country, right?

    11.

    11.

    Yes sir.

  • Hey guys. I'm a bit confused... I have absolutely no idea...

Anyone know the # of time zones in the Soviet Union?

  • 11.. 1,2,3, yessir

  • power power power power power

  • bravo man.

  • This is ridiculous. It's not even funny.

  • Where was this sampled from, this "Do you know how many time zones there are in the Soviet Union?"

  • You know how many time zones there are in the Soviet Union?

  • "How many time zones?"That's ridiculous! It's not even funny! - Bob

  • wait until 2 minutes. It's commentary on the times we live in/lived in.

    and besides:

This is ridiculous. It's not even funny.

  • Loved this song for many years. I do like the videographic augmentation. Thanks!

    VIVA Negativland!!!

  • BRILLIANT VIDEO!!

  • I have added a "Commie" second to the Atheist power grid.

  • the loud speaker spoke up and said: "Christianity is stupid!"

  • I used to listen to this on acid in the 80s. This is a nice trip back in time.

  • I am right there with you! An old friend played the album this is on as I and another friend tripped. I haven't dosed in 15 years.

  • One two three... four in this country?

  • Nope, just one.

  • This is about Sarah Palin.

  • they are big, we got so much power now, it's ridiculous, nobody is perfect, that's the reason you don't talk about it.

  • man, what an awesome video adaption to the song. Excellent work, Mrs, err, rectangular.

  • Absurd. Strange. Existentialistic. Fantastic.

  • we just don't have enough data

  • It's ridiculous. It's not even funny.

  • We got so much power now

  • It's ridiculous.

  • And about power, man, nobody's perfect!

  • thats why we have to have computers.

  • negativland and the makers of these videos have an extremely keen sense of the human psyche as influenced by psychadelic chemicals

  • Awesome vidoe of one of Negativlands great mashups.

  • awesome

  • ELEVEN

  • omg i fried listening to escape from noise tape

  • The embed code gives me a scene from Saving Private Ryan. Anyone else having this problem?

  • kill cheat and lie from everybody??... lmao - thanks for posting, this has been one of my favs for YEARS!!

  • 11 I LOVE IT!

  • I listened to Ray Briem all the time as a kid. He used that 11 timezone v 4 timeszone factoid many times, even after he was told it was wrong. Briem is right about the Soviet Union, it had 11 timezones, but the USA has 7 timezones. If you don't count Alaska then you shouldn't count Siberia. I don't recall this specific call, but this probably was long after Briem was told he was wrong.

  • It's not even funny

  • that's why we have to have computers...

  • Eleven, is that right?

  • could be, in 1987...

but as negativland would say "we didn´t say it, we just used it!"

  • That's not even funny.

  • @doubleyewgee This track is discussing the Soviet Union, but Russia even post cold war still had 11. However it is just 9 since March 2010.
