In reality that homeless baglady pushed her shopping cart back to the cardboard box she lives in after filming this commercial. But she was nice enough to pass her jug. Remember spare some change to the homeless, they might spare a sip down the road.
I don't remember this commercial, but I remember Boones Farm. I'm not much of a drinker (I don't really like the taste of alcohol), but I love Strawberry Hill. Unfortunately, it isn't sold in New York anymore.
This is so funny..especially the comments. That stuff was like sodie pop with a twist. There was another favor besides apple and strawberry..on the dark berry side don't remember the name.
@Tyronethe24th Some of the posters below second that. I haven't tried it, but having tried other fruit flavored pop like--that's the one!--Arbor Mist, for example, I'm not plopping my money down for that one.
Hey, what about the one for Boone's Farm Apple Wine with the Old West traveling show? Something like: "Let's go back and watch the world begin/Adam and Eve commit the very first sin/They eat the apple(BOOOO!!!)!...You still eating apples? Shame on you!(BOOOO!!) 'Cause Boone;s Farm makes a mighty fine apple wine(YEAHH!!)."
Do they still make these cheap wines from the 70's? I live in Pennsylvania, so no wine in the grocery stores, only in "wine and spirits" stores and I've only been in those maybe a half-dozen times in the years I've lived here (too embarassed to walk into one letting everyone know I'm there for booze I guess).
"One sip and it's Strawberry Hiils forever!" Obviously ripping off the Beatles lyric "Strawberry fields forever..." Great window into the past, hard to believe we drank that syrupy stuff...good buzz though and a wicked hangover.
This just in: There have been numerous reports of individuals visting Mount Carmel Cemetery, located just outside Los Angeles, seeing the ghost of actor Vic Morrow trying to dig up the grave of Louise 'Boone's Farm' Tatum with his bare hands. It is believed that the confused apparition of Morrow may think that Tatum's corpse had been embalmed with WINE. ... wine was how I lost my first wife...
How tragic, thefilm stops just before 67 year old Louise Tatum, the actress/stunt person playing 'Granny' in the commercial, was killed after slamming the dirt bike into the side of a semi-tractor trailer rig full of Coor's Beer driven by Jerry 'The Snowman' Reed. The California Highway Patrol report stated that there wasn't enough of 'Granny' left to stuff into a Boone's Farm bottle. Very sad. She is buried right next to actor Vic Morrow in Mount Carmel Cemetery just outside Los Angeles.
Yes, I remember this from the late 70s. Little else beats a rotgut-pushing granny, well it;s better than when they're hitting you over the head with a bible.
it's 6am and i just finished a bottle of wild cherry. all i can think about is getting some teenage girls wasted and having sex.

Oh wow, did Grandma just promote drinking and riding?
They would NEVER make this commercial today, for the product OR with the short-sighted context! Not in this slippery slope society, no way.
