You play in a certain "tier" Pokemon from tiers below that tier can be used in your lineup, (e.g a ou in an ubers match) but not pokemon from a tier above the tier your playing (e.g. ubers in a uu tier) hope my rather bad description helped xD

Wob, chomp, and mence shoulda never been put in uber point blank! if mence is uber scizor is uber... all deoxys forms are ubers imo except speed... ibelieve that was a good call.... i also believe the evasion clause sucks ass... we as trainers are supposed to overcome these obstacles in battle! thats why there are moves like aerial ace etc. that can hit no matter what!

@brianthebeast123 : think of tiers kinda like in boxing. There are lightweights, middle weights, and heavy weights. The pokes are split up due to stats, usage, and all sorts of stuff to make sure they are in the appropriate "weight class". I guess that Tiers kinda in a nut shell (although much more is put into deciding a pokes Tier)

Second, phasers are pokes that can use a move to force a poke out of battle. These moves are like roar or Whirl wind.

It has a amazing speed stat, great special attack, and a sleep move with decent accuracy! It's WAY overpowered!

Deoxys (Attack Form) is also overpowered.

Good speed and the best special attack in the game gives it a Uberz ticket.

I dont mind salamence being OU, besides the fact that is doesn't has any true counters.

Garchomp is just broken; good bulk, good speed, good attack, you can't use thunder wave on it, sand veil, lots of reasons it should go uber

Everyone's already debating Skymin, but what do you guys think about Garchomp going Overused? It's just going to increase the use of offensive Sandstorm teams, but it's already been shown that competitive play is going to be full of weather teams. It looks like everybody will be running Drizzle Politoed to deal with Doryuzuu + Garchomp and even then, Politoed can't really take physical hits too well. Just hoping there are some ways to counter these Sandstorm teams~

most of the dreamworld abilities are ok for OU aside from one that comes to mind shandera shadow tag ability but mew deoxys darkrai and the lati's are too overpowered for OU and should stay uber.. :]

Many of the dream world abilities are fine, with the noticeable exemption of shadow tag shandera, as you can get a free kill on any thing that you are faster than (with the massive special attack) or set up on a choice fighting or normal (can learn calm mind). The only reason wobafet had shadow tag was because it has no attacking move, yet shadera has so much power and potential on its own. Should probably deal with cases like this by putting normal shandra in OU and Shadow tag in Ubers.

I honestly think that with Mischevious Heart Darkrai's are so hard to use Dark Void and Nasty Plot (Taunt), Skymin's are easily blocked by Natorrei's, Mew IDK, Latias and Latios, YES!!!! They're so many counters for them, <3 you Eon's. Salamence and Garchomp should've never been Uber in the 1st place, and I don't even expect Kyruem to be OU! More like BL.

@Quickbobhero Isn't unreleased DW abilities banned? Also, according to Serebii Darkrai doesn't get Mischevious Heart. I'd like to point out that Nattorei can't touch Skymin, at all. Air Slash is a clean 2HKO with a 60% chance to flinch, Nattorei can't switch into Skymin at all. It will either Slash, Sub up or Seed Flare which has a 80% to half your special defense. Blissey gets 2HKOed with the SpD drop (I'm not sure with LO or Specs). It's ridiciously overpowered.

@Quickbobhero Both gets 2HKOed by a Life Orb boosted Dark Pulse after rocks I believe, and neither likes switching into a Dark Void. You basically stop Darkrai by sacrificing something to sleep, then bring in something which has priority or is scarfed, but Darkrai can just plain switch out, and come in to sweep the rest of your team after your revenge killer is gone. This isn't ubers where pokemon have insane SpD stats, Darkrai doesn't even need a +2 to sweep. Wow, Smogon is smart. -.-

How common Roopushins are is a testimony to how much the metagame is centralised against the likes of Darkrai and Doryuuzu. You can easily revenge kill Salamence with priority, why is it banned in 4th gen? Skymin has OU stats? Wobbuffet has NU stats. Numbers are deceiving. Have you ever played 4th gen stall with Latias? Sorry, but with Reflect up, I'll just Roar you away and heal up later while you die to spikes.

@DesFayne It was deemed to powerful after a DD, even though most of the 4th gen metagame relied on Scizor, Heatran and Zapdos. And about the stall thing, Ononokusu/Sazandora? Reflect won't help Latios much, as it can be killed easier with a special attack (though still hard). Skymin? Zapdos is a perfect counter to every set unless with HP Ice and a Sazandora will be hard to take out, that'll be a problem with SR up.

@Quickbobhero I think switching in a Dragon against another Dragon is foolish. Not to mention that Lati@s is faster unless you're scarfed and you can be potentially switching in on a dragon type move. Seed Flare, although resisted, does 24.5%-29% to specially defensive Zapdos with Life Orb. It has a 80% chance of lowering Zapdos' defenses two stages due to Serene Grace. If the drop is obtained, it 2HKOs FULL health Zapdos on average switching on stealth rock. There's your counter to Skymin.

@DesFayne The problem with your side of the arguement is that you keep refering to switch ins, sometimes it just BAM happens! And if the Zapdos has Roost, he could essentially PP stall you, speaking how you can only use Seed Flare max 4 times on him. Oh and I forgot to mention this but they'll probably ban Shadow Tag and Wobbufet's must have the DW ability. =D

Either you mean you let something else die first (which is why Mence is banned), or you bring in Zapdos on the same turn as Skymin (?). HP Ice is listed as the first option on Skymin's sweeper set btw. Even without HP Ice, your so-called Roost stalling is praying that all 4 seed flares either miss or don't lower your special defense and you don't get flinched to death by air slash after that.

I think that leaving everything untouched (Pokemon previously uber, items, abilities, etc.) is the best way to test how something should be placed. Even if some things are obviously over-powered/difficult to take down/ have no counter, the best way to be sure is to re-test everything.

Darkrai, Shaymin-S, and at least Deoxys A and S are easily going into Ubers.

Not so sure about Mew, because quite frankly, his unpredictability doesn't make him nearly as good anymore.

Manaphy is still overpowered; +3 tail glow, CM sets, good natural bulk-it's borderline, but probably leaning on ubers.

The dragons are probably the most questionable, in regards to retaining Uber status. Latias isn't OP at all, but Latios' extra power is extremely annoying.

And old pokemon are not outclassed.

We feel as though many things are overpowered, but considering the sheer number of overpowered Pokemon, things should actually balance out. I think the reason we think they are overpowered is that many old Pokemon are now outclassed.

Also, Deoxys is going to rape face in OU, and Wobbuffet can take out a whole team by itself.

yeah, the way i see it, a pokemon goes uber if it is broken whether it be its stats, movepool, ability, or even all three. If you want pokes like skymin to go uber the way to do it is abuse it as much as you can and make it a problem in the metagame, in other words, you have to prove that the pokemon is broken and only then will it go uber

With the introduction of 156 new Pokemon, there are many "over-powered" Pokes running around. Throwing in some of the 4th Gen Ubers and the new Dream World abilities makes for a completely new style of battle that seems to be mostly about offense. I can tell you one thing competitive Pokemon battles are going to be real war-zones out there. I think it's going to be a lot of fun....with so many new options available.

I think people are crybabies tbh. Thanks to all the errors made in Gen Four most people that I come across are way to ban-happy. I think instead of OMG I DON'T LIKE FIGHTING THIS IT'S BROKEN BAN BAN BAN, we should take the time to test out how the once uber Pokemon actually fare in the "metagame". Smogon for now said u can do for example "All dream world OU battles" so techinically u can use unreleased dream world, its just a seperate tier. I also believe all 4 dragons will stay OU along with Skymin, and the 4 forms of Deoxys. As for Mew and Darkrai I believe they will be headed back.

@Xozzen : so far I have only tested Darkrai, skymin, a few forms of deoxys, and the 4 dragons. I kinda doubt Darkrai, Mew, and skymin will stay OU long however, with priority none have been to hard to deal with as long as you are expecting to see them. This is just the way smogon tests stuff (similar to cress going UU in the past) I can say it is making for a lot of fun matches and im sure smogon will make thing more balanced once testing is complete. I am fairly sure all 4dragons will stay.

It could wall a ton of stuff but people would use Hera more and more as a counter to him. Guts flame orbed Mega would do too much damage to cress. I just hope that doesn't happen.
