  • If only Deus Ex IW had cross-hair bloom, big levels, and different types of ammo...and maybe a bit more commentary on the effects of augmentation on society, like Deus Ex Human Revolution had. Then I would say it was the best of the series.

  • The creators of Deus Ex themselves tried not to use the color purple anywhere in Human Revolution specifically because they said Invisible War was a horrible game.

  • What was wrong with Invisible War?

  • So many people living with deep nostalgia. Reminds me of people that say Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess sucks because they're blinded by their OOT nostalgia.

  • 0:09 nice throw man.

  • @Schilcote - No, douche, Valve makes different games because they are a different company. That's the point of having a game "market", you get different companies competing with different products to get your money. If it Deus Ex was made by Valve, it wouldn't say "Ion Storm" on the product listing. Really, learn to fucking read and differentiate between things.

  • lmao the pistol muzzle flash looks so fucking dumb

everything in invisible war is fail

you cant even press the keypads ... the entire keypad is just one button

    stupid consolized pos

  • fanboys

    fanboys EVERYWHERE

  • The game that could never run smooth

  • You can actually punch things in this one?

  • Erm, you're not very good at the whole "killing" part, are you? Use the SMG with frag rounds and extra damage, it's the best weapon in open firefights. To make the game harder, try to only use the regen biomod to heal instead of using food and healthpacks in the middle of a fight.

  • @Solkovsky It wasn't a video of skill but more of a tech demo for hit detection rag dolls and visual effects. :/ Is that not obvious.

  • @Solkovsky I used a pistol for the whole game. With a combination of stealth and melee weapons, I had full ammo for most of the game. The pistol consumes the least amount of ammo (excluding the stun prod).

  • Bunch of morons don't know how to play this game, or thought it would be cool to criticize it just because a bunch of other elitist punks do.

It may not be as good as the first game, but it's pretty darn close (not to mention the much needed graphical improvements).

  • @GameMiestro

Yeah, and people seem to forget that the physics engine in IW was absolutely revolutionary.

  • @Solkovsky Deus ex IW was quite good but it isn't (AT ALL) better than the first one!

But Deus Ex invisible War isn't as bad as people say it is!

I mean, you can control bots, cameras, turrets in first person, you can use your little Vision Enhancement biomod to find multitools, ammoclips, medkits, biocells etc. hidden in some rooms, wich in the first one you can't.

The graphics are, well, quite good...

It wasn't such a bad game. PS: Source Engine has and had much better physics than DX IW.

  • @DxVentura

Half-life 2 was released about a year after Invsible War. Invsible War was like the second mainstream game to use ragdoll physics (UT2003 being the first). It shouldn't surprise anyone source had/has better physics.

  • this game sucks! the first one is way better then this shit

  • the only problem i had with the game was that it felt confined, and you needed more freedom with skills, and such

  • The first game to signal the downfall of good PC shooter titles... sigh. Console ports. :( I really never liked this DX because it was much more linear than the first and didn't have the magic of the first, not to mention a pale story in comparison.

  • deus ex 1= perfection :) , deus ex 2 = disappointment >:(

  • @rolen123 deus ex 2 was way 2 easy

  • yeah they simplified it too much... deus ex 3 will do no better... :(

  • very good graphics for 2004, was annoying that u only had flashlight with the pistol though

  • There was a default light aug (not just the x-ray).

  • should release for xbox 360 have to give my original to my nese

  • I never really had a problem with ammo until towards the end when I started using the rocket launcher. Most of the time I used the boltcaster (tranquilizer), the nonlethal biomod that has that green thing tranquilize, or two quick shots from the assassins pistol for human targets. I stuck to the magrail for all the robots.

  • i remember when i first played this i spent like an hour just throwing dead bodies cuz it was so cool. i think this came out before the chronicles of riddick and i was amazed by the lighting effects.

  • Calm the farm. Didn't think of it like that. Will put it up now.

  • @Luckmann nerd rage is nerdy.

  • @Luckmann only if you suck at tactics planning and swordfighting

  • shit game

  • both game have the best story in FPSRPG genres imho

  • I loved both of them.

  • Don't think I'd really consider this worthy of the title Deus Ex.

  • DX 2 had a better story (there are no good and bad characters, and the psychedelic part of JC's Lair was awesome!!!!), different but good atmosphere and much much better music and once again you can pass the game only using stealth (for me DX was always a stealth shooter) and not killing anybody (so I never had problem with new ammunition system, 'couse I didn't use it :D), that's why it's also a great game though not without flaws.

  • Deus Ex 2 Suck .

  • i so agree..

  • name of the song? :)

  • is there a way to download the full game ? :S

  • steam

  • WTF is this?? thats not deus ex !

  • Deus ex: Invisible war Number 2 in the series.

  • ok, i just found out there's a No2.. :_)

  • @jordsoo1 invisible war never happened...

  • @CanYouFeelTheChange yes it is dude part two.

  • @CanYouFeelTheChange Yes it is

  • The three things I hate the most about the game:

    - The (compared to those of Deus Ex) tiny levels.

    - The ridiculously tiny inventory.

    - That the game was really short.

  • My thoughts exactly.

The levels were so incredibly tiny, yet areas were still separated by annoying transports (warp objects to other maps, like some doors).

Items were scarce, munition was precious and non-human AI annoying, if I remember right.

The overall experience was just empty.

  • Hold on, sorry but are you seriously saying you had a problem with ammunition in Deus Ex 2? What were you doing? Spraying everything that moved? I finished the game sitting on a giant pile of money and ammo so I don't know what you did wrong.

  • I had problems with ammo as well. Of course I want to shoot everything that moves, it's one of the liberties that Deus Ex 1 gives you and Deus Ex 2 takes away from you.

  • @Katalmach HOW?

  • How what? How it takes that liberty from you? The lack of ammo. The ammo is shared on ALL weapons (which I might add is pretty ridiculous to have rocket launchers and pistols use the same ammo), so if you ever run out of ammo you're forced to use alternative methods to finish the mission. In DX1 there was more then sufficient ammo due to the fact that ammo types were varied, if you ran out of ammo for your main weapon you could resume shooting with a different one.

  • @Katalmach true but at least it cuts down on the amount off ammo u need to find

  • come on this game is awesome. i played it about 4years after deux ex. the graphics are good and the game is solid.

  • This game failed because of the horrible programming. This game should run well on a Geforce 3. It shouldn't require more than a low end Geforce 4, but it will only run well on a geforce 6. It FAILED because the PC version was a port designed for the Xbox hardware but the PC couldn't run it without tripling the available resources because the damn PC port was programmed by Tardy McRetardo. Warren Spector was reamed and fired over the fiasco known as Deus Ex Invisible War.

  • I read you can complete the whole game only killing 3 enemies!

( read guiness book of world gaming records for proof)

  • u can beat the game without "killing" any body actually, just knock them out

  • The graphics look good for a 2003? game, however, Like most people and I depend on gameplay, and it doesn't deliver in it's entirety.

  • When i play this game ENYONE that enters my FOV(Field of View) is dead

Wether it be a friend, foe or justa random person waking to the local cafe'

I kill em all!!!. LOL so Thats why i was compleatly out of ammo at the end of the game XD!!!

  • deus ex 2 is alright but you cant get enough ammo because in games i like to just run in and make it a massacre but i cant in this because i dont have any ammo

  • no but i still hope that it stay has identical has possible in the 3rd game

  • Hey what happens if you dont kill.

that girl who wants you to excute the NSF leader guy.

does gunther stop chasing you ?

  • No.

If you don't kill Anna Navarre in the plane, you have to kill her at NSF headquarters.

  • Comment removed

  • Well you can avoid her but this involves unintended use of AI glitches ^^

  • Comment removed

  • dude, this isnt exactly deus ex, its the sequal.

and no, you cant choose not to kill anna.

thus, when you reach paris, you have to kill gunther.

  • DeusEx2, it was good, but NOTHING compared to the original, the graphics may have been a little better(I still prefer the original graphics over 2) but the gameplay on the 1st was THE BEST ever!

hopefully, DeusEx3 uses the same engine as the first, and atleast has a storyline as good as the first(I hear its around the time Gunther/Anna was created/fuckedup, biomechanical engineering period)

  • True, I highly doubt they'll be using the same engine as DE1. Maybe the same stats part of it, but I doubt it considering that Deus ex 3 is suppose to have gun stats but not the other ones. I'm not 100% sure on that though. Nothing in stone has been told to us about the game, apart from it being inbetween one and two.

  • I thought it would be set before one?

  • Maybe, I think It might be. Had a look awhile ago on wikipedia xD.

  • Deus Ex Invisible War is a big flop...

  • Im the only one who liked dx 2? I know that the first its better but this game is good too

  • I like it :D tis good fun. I mean not as great rpg or story as a whole wise but engine and A.I wise is way better as well as some of the gameplay.

  • Yeh it was good, but the 1st definitely has more replay value and is a better all around game.

  • Yeh i like both

even though the first was better.

  • Few people would call IW a bad game, I just think that you drown in missions and confusing options and that there are a lot of tedious load-time. I miss the skillpoint system and that special Deus ex feeling in general.

  • IW was massively dumbed down. In every possibly way. The conspiracy was cheap, repetitious, and predictable. There was no real sense of pacing inside the game, and the plot just wasn't very engaging. The complex sub-missions and characters that characterised the first game weren't there, and the music was crappy. The augmentation system was massively simplified, to it's detriment.

Oh, and it's also not very cyberpunk-feeling.

I think a LOT of people think that it's a crappy game.

  • Invisible War wasn't a bad game on it's own. But sequels are always meant to be better then the previous games. Otherwise they are lost in the dust. In this case Invisible War was not even in the same league as the first game and thus, no one liked it

  • I agree. The game would probably have been more successfull if they had not made it a Deus ex game.

  • In the words of Yahtzee;

They dumbed it down too much.

  • I completely agree with you there. They've dumbed it down too much! :)

  • @SharpScales I think people like you seem to assume and exaggerate. It was by no means as good as the first, but it was still enjoyable to myself and quite a lot of other people.

  • hey, this song is freaking cool! Can you tell its name? CYBER TECHNO RULES!!! :D

  • Not 100% sure as its one of the youtube audioswap songs.

  • this game was a big disappointment for a follow on from the magnificanse of the first deus ex

  • this game is quite easy even on hard

i completed the game with baton only on hard

    i had augmentations also

  • 0_0

Well, some of us aren't FPS masters.

  • Its easy to complete the game without even killing or knocking anyone out (aside from mission ones) but its just not as fun.

  • This game still has better lighting than most current day games.

  • RAGDOLL ENGINE!!111 HELL YEAH!!!11

  • this game is a littel old but it will never be bad, well im sure happy that my pc can run this all full,LoL

  • well if this game is too hard for you, you can turn down the difficulty. easy might be good for babys like you

  • DX2 sucked ass compared to 1, it was to short (finished in 11 hours compared to 30 in DX1) and way to linear compared to the first. I played tyhis on a pretty decent computer back in 2003, but when i look at this flick the lighting effects are pretty amazing. the only game that could measure to these standards was probably splinter cell, but all still nothing compared to modern shit. lets thank a random god for HDR lighting effects.

  • DX1 can be cleared on 5 hours.

  • ur fuckin insane ok

  • I actually thought DX2 wasn't bad...'till I actually spent a lot of time playing it. It would've been better had it not been a DX game. DX1 set the bar too high for it's black sheep of a little bro. Can't wait 'till DX3.

  • I totally agree with you. Deus Ex 2 was a good game, but a horrible Deus Ex. Hopefully Deus Ex 3 will go back to the first amazing story telling, it's going to be hard to come up with a story as good as the first though.

  • Hey I agree with everyone who likes DX1 better, but to give credit where it is due, DX2 did improve in some areas and surpassed the first one: The biomods were better in practice and implementation, the art design was leaps and bounds of the barren DX1, voice acting was better, the story was better and more intriguing in some ways, the weapons were better. Now, that said, two things killed it for me; 1) universal ammo, and 2) less actual missions (and smaller)

  • I agree that DX2 was a great game but a rubbish Deus Ex game.

But DaTubeGuru, the things you mentioned that DX2 improved on, are what made the original so good. For example the bad voice acting was hilarious!

But yeah, the universal ammo annoyed the hell out of me...I had to kill people with a knife for AGES at one point!

  • DX2 was... It was okay.

I completely agree with you, though. DX1 was beastly, and there's no way DX2 could've kept up with it.

  • dx 2 suck .

  • 1:35

  • One of the worst things about Deus Ex 2 got to be the damn interface, its clunky as fuck when you compare it to the first game. Also, grid-based inventories for the motherfucking win.

  • But the fact that it became a geometry puzzle was annoying. Hopefully Deus Ex 3 will have an inventory like Oblivion (where each object has a certain amount of weight).

On another note, I prefer the Disturbed music, jordsoo1

  • Same but sticky beak youtube poking their nose around for Disturbed doesn't allow it lol :P.

  • Its not really a geometry puzzle, items carried are either 1 only certain block sizes, square or rectangle. Theres only so much you can do.

  • these effects arent in the original game right?

  • What you mean when you say the original game?

  • well

  • shit i accidentely hit "post comment" ^^

With "original game" i mean the game as it was shipped... without any modification you know

  • Ooooh i get it.

  • Well this is Deus Ex 2, as in the Invisible War one

  • Awesome vid. And Stricken's awesome

  • bad myoosic but a good game

  • is that deaus ex 2? doesnt look like 1 Oo

    btw. shit music.

  • dnt let the fuck off tell ya whats good n whats not disturbed rocks man!

  • Deus Ex > Mass Effect > Invisible War Of course they're all still fantastic games.

  • Oh, Damn the music really sucks

  • Why? Why did you use this shit music instead of the Deus Ex theme song?

  • -_- Disturbed isn't shit and as much as i like the DE theme song it wouldn't really suite the video

  • Well, if blowing your ear drums out is your thing, go ahead.

  • Don't think i'll be doing that unless I'm listening to it through a Jackhammer lol The sub that is :P

  • Alright.

  • You replaced a Deus Ex soundtrack with your own?

    You must be deaf.

  • haha only slightly xD :P, but thats not what i did, its just on the video i didnt replace the game music Deus Ex music is pretty atmospheric tis awesome :D

  • massacre at 3:50

  • mass effect basicly stole the concept of this game. hopefully deus ex 3 will burry mass effect... i love mass effect but always loved this and invisible war.

  • how did mass effect steel the concept?

  • did u ever even play deaus ex and play mass effect/?? pretty easy to find out the answer to that

  • yea, i played through both, and i'd still like someone to tell me how they stole the concept?

  • omg its pretty obvious man just think about it compare the two kuz i don't want to sit here and type and fill this comment with details of why mass effect stole the concept from deas ex even though deaus ex is a fps

  • aight, i've already thought about it, and that's why i asked the question, but i guess it's not really that obvious if no-ones already said it

instead they're jst going round saying 'OMGZ MASS EFFECT STOLEZ DUES EXXZ IDEAS'.

  • The augmentation thing in BioShock was probably inspired by Deus Ex. Just in a different way, you know.

  • i thought we were talking about mass effect?

  • thats like saying mass effect stole jumping from super mario bros..fucking theives

  • wtf...

the plot in mass effect is about 100 times better than this game.

maybe not the original ... but this game isn't the original.

  • It records games just like fraps does :P

  • 20-50 frames per second while recording on my old pc 3.0ghz p4 1gb ram and a 7600gt, I'd probably get way more now but my comp doesn't like fraps and it stutters, thinking about buying gamecam

  • Because its awful compared to the first one.

  • -> 3yeka, Asiancomedian: I hate to say it, Asiancomedian, but you didn't even answer 3yeka's question (i.e. WHY). All you did was give him more ammo for his own argument -- you didn't give any actual reasons.

  • this game is good but not as good as the original

  • IW is cool because you can play the whole game using just the cloak mode to become invisible and strength one to throw things on people to kill them

  • oh its dx2

  • as much as i love deus ex, it has to be said that IW dont compare to the original. everyone knows that

i played it on xbox and whenever you used the sniper you'd shoot and see the person drop and see the recoil.. then 2 seconds later hear the BOOM

  • this is a kick ass game!

  • if you like this one, try deus ex 1, it doesn't have the whole modern look, but it's still one hell of a game!!

  • the game in the clip runs shocking and slow

  • in these clips? yea i had a shitty computer then. 3.0ghz p4 1gb ram and a 7600gt and recorded it with fraps. in other words the frame rate is between 19-30 most the time.. i think lol

  • actually it was more like inbetween 20-50 i think.. eh whatever lol

  • Are you kidding? Fuck off.

  • wen ma xbox worked i played it everydai

iz deus ex 3 goner be on pc any1?

  • is this worth buying?

  • Yup its pretty much worth buying :D well i enjoy it :)

  • no, the orginal deus ex is much better: for PC or PS2...

  • how do you aim fast on the PS2? PC ownz compared to any TV console lol... winner of some survey

  • lol depends on what sorta comp ya have, if its an old comp its gona lag it up lol but new/fairly new it definately won't

  • Roll on Deus Ex 3.

  • All that pretty graphics mean nothing when you got a shitty story.

  • i reckon the story is ok until the endish of it

  • This is a great game, despite the fact that it universally disappointed fans of the original.

  • If i'd had the time I would have made the 'MoralityMod' and changed DX2 to have some of the character of its predecessor, as well as updated some of the written text to suit myself. Eg; there are two sides you can take in DX2, but it's more immersive and EXPpoints wise to take both paths as far as the story permits.

  • yeah, dx2 also turnes JCDenton stupid.

    Enforced biomodification??????

In DX2 the iluminati ending is THE ONLY ONE that makes some sence.

Thats what JC is supposed to do.

CAUSE HOW THE F__K can jumping, being invisible or beeng able to see through wals CAN STOP{ TERRORISM (or something like that?

GIVING PEOPLE BETTER FIGHTING ABYLITIES ONLY MAKES THEM FIGHT trust me i know

  • Um...no, maybe if you even made the slighest attempt to understand what you criticized you'd realize that the "enforced modification" allowed Helios to gather the oppinions of the citizens of JC's "post-human civilization" so they could be processed to determine what laws would be put into practice.

  • DX2 was... mediocre.

    In... comparison, anyway.

By itself, it's a decent FPS, but even alone, it's nothing special.

  • What?! da story is the main reason people play the game !

  • the main reason? wow, then not many ppl play this game

  • zppzxoox, this game is full of philosophical ideas, if you haven't noticed that's becuz you are completely uncultured and uneducated, i won't say that's bad necessarily, but point stands that you missed the point of why this game is worthwhile to play.

  • not this game, the first

  • 1st game was good, but DX2 has tons of philosophical ideas, there was mentioning of Tocqueville, Mill, there's bunch of stuff on luddites and falseness of religion as a form of control (the order and the WTO), also judging people based on abilities, and modifying the so-called human nature to eliminate flaws thru biomods. Obviously you missed all those things too.

  • It's sad that they had to simplify so much to cater for the console platform in DX2. That said, the story and philosophical plot line alone deserve 5 stars!!

  • it had a philosophical plot line?

  • of course it did, nature vs human artificial evolution, government under 'God' vs human government where majority rules, JC even quoted Tocqueville; there's also the focus on ability/performance/merit as one's worth instead of wealth and background (transhumanism); not to mention there's also the danger and hypocrisy of religion (represented by the knights templar luddites). I liked the story, but of course u can play it as a shooter, but you are not getting much out of it.

  • dude there is no artificial evolution.

then cave men. nothing ir artificial, even plastic. i was made out of real materials, its just as real as other things.

thats just the best name, god vs human evolution

you can play this game as a shooter, but you loose your ammo 2 fast, and not more than 7 enemies in one map,

in the original there were raids of 37 MJ12, unatco, riot cops, 2 security bots and some bum with a knife
