Quasi's pretty strong for a guy his size. Able to life a grown man in full armor with one hand, and (later in the film) break iron chains that are tethered to stone columns.

That's impressive that is.

@NicholasGeschke For 20 years (or 10 if we imagine he started to do his job as a kid) inside the cathedral he had been pulling bells and kepting ropes sustaining several tons of iron and other metals. And maybe his abnormal body (in the book he looks very sick, since he has the left leg bigger than the right one, fangs-like teeth and a sore covering the eye) gave him incredible strength.
