  • Nice video. I'll have to try this when I find a piece of cedar hanging around.

  • Cat hair fluff really stinks when it burns.

  • Caution fire may be hot!!!!!?:)

  • Finally, someone that shows the burn in and notch process. Nice.

  • Watched this with my 5 & 7 year old and they loved it! -- Karis (7) "That's cool! My mom told me not to do that at home..."

  • fake and gay

  • @Theblackwolf1081 stfu its not fake or gay your just jealous that you cant do it ._.

  • @brutre2 i would guess that your knot that ties the rope to the bow is loose (try a different knot). either that or try and find a bow that has a little more flex, that way the flex of the bow will keep the rope taught.

  • @brutre2 lol its a bow because you have to slightly bend the stick and use that bend to stretch the rope taut....not tight but taut...and then when you double it around the spindle, it will work

  • wow i think that rumor was started by the cavemen on the geico commercial...

  • Thats a huge tinder bundle!

  • cool

  • great vid. ty for the upload

  • good video. And as for all of you asking specific questions: anything can replace the string (as long as its strong enough) and the bearing block. Also, almost anything can be a tinder bundle if it is fine enough. Even steel wool burns.

  • @ataraxic89 yes if you have steel wool and a 9v battery rub the + and - connectors against the steel wool and it burns very very very quick youtube it

  • @XxiLOGiiKzxX I know, but I meant as tinder

  • @ataraxic89 cool cool i really want to make a fire in the small wood by my village

  • @XxiLOGiiKzxX I just went into my friends woods and made a fire with a giant lens. SOOO easy, didnt even have to make a tinder bundle.

  • @ataraxic89 doesnt work at dawn, night or when there is loads of clouds.. this will even work when it rains...lot harder but still can be done

  • @n0ledge True, however, I dont plan on traveling, and it live in Alabama, usually sunny and we're in a drought.

  • @ataraxic89 sometimes this kind of knowledge becomes handy when you did'nt plan to use it :P it's just the kind of thing that is good to know even if you dont practice it just in case something happen you know

  • awesome job ....good channel also

  • how do you tie the bow string around the spindle. Is there a special knot to make.

  • @charronfamilyconnect no there's no special knot to tie. you just twist the rope around the spindle once. watch the video closely 0:44 and you can see it.

  • @providence13751 do you get the rope for the bow from the cedar tree too? dumb ass

  • @jraybu09 the bark of the cedar is fibrous enough to make rope from. but for this video i used a blue nylon rope i had kicking around. practically anything can be made into rope in emergency situations. ex: shoelace, or even cut a strip of cloth off the bottom of your shirt.

  • how did u get cat tail?

  • @shinglehillclimber88 cat-tails are pretty wide spread across the world. They live in ditches or marshy areas, google it. You can also use many different kinds of tinder in place of the cat-tails.

  • Excellent¡ now what is the inches of the drill??

    Thanks

  • I made 30 of these fires in Wilderness rehab

  • Can you use your shoelace for the bow. And how do you know what trees are ceder?

  • You could definitely use a shoelace for the bow string! And the best way to know what a Cedar tree looks like would be to google it. good luck!

  • it will rip very quick and you need to be good and get it almost the first time

    good "ceder tree"

i also mad 60+ in wilderness rehab

  • Nice One Troy, Its Me Nathan

  • thank you we have been using the wrong wood we will let you know if we can do it to you should try the coke can methed it cool !

  • I've tried the coke can and chocolate bar method, it took a few trys but I was eventually sucessful! :)

  • TENDERBUNDLE!

  • wow that was so informative. you should teach tripping skills

  • he works at a camp somewhere like a nature camp
