All I have to say it that you obviously started FPS PC games within the past 8 or so years. There is a whole generation or two before these games that knocked the socks off of all of these games (except maybe Battlefield 2). You are missing games like Tribes, the original Doom, Quake, Unreal Tournament, Counter-strike and Day of Defeat, Duke Nukem. The only Call of Duty that should be on any list is the first one (including modern warfare). Also the fact that you put BF 2142 above BF2 says a LOT

I wanted to like Far Cry 2 soooo badly because it looks and plays amazingly, but they made the mistake of forcing you to drive mile after uneventful mile to each objective which artificially extended gameplay time... If I wanted to drive around for fun, I'd play Forza or even another open world game like the GTA series.

I'd go with Operation Flaspoint, Deus Ex, Arma II, Dark Messiah (not really a shooter, but anyway) and Half-Life 1 & 2. These are the games I consider unique classics, that easily outrank every CoD-garbage coming out each year.
