  • You probably know by now, but what you did at the end with the shift space was toggle source/record in the time line, which is useful for that granularity

  • I drag clips whenever I want, which isn't often, but I do and it's easy, in fact VERY intuitive. Also, there is sooo much more to trim mode than this. I take it that at the time you'd only worked with it for about a week? I say this all the time, you will rarely find an Avid editor in his right mind who will switch from Avid to ANY thing else. I find with MC I can get what I want faster, with more precision than with any other software. Bar none. Even Smoke.

  • Thanks a lot Poul!! Nice tutorial!

I have been editting in FCP... There's a machine at work with avid. You you recomend to learn this software too... Is there advantages? I understand it is a pretty complex software.

    In advance, Thanks!

  • Bro, you are amazing with Avid.

I just learned a lot from you. Please don't stop making this videos and give a tutorial of how to master the Title Effects, please.

  • Very well done. It's weird though, all this makes sense, but with me I keep my hand on the mouse and my left hand on the keyboard, I try to avoid moving my hand from the mouse. When I do (and since I haven't memorized the right side of the keyboard) I end up looking at the keyboard = slow.

I'm not ragging on your style! It's just interesting to see how you do things, like at 5:01, instead of what you stated, I move the mouse, hit T then IN (or OUT) and Z/X. It keeps my hand on the mouse!

  • @StuartHaight Oh yeah, just learning FCP now, IT SUCKS it's SO SLOW to edit!!! My teacher understands becuase he knows avid as well...

And REAL TIME EFFECTS are SO good in Avid! Paint effect is amazing.

Shift+ESC buisness at 8:48, never knew that one, excellent for footage digitized from tape! But since I'm not using a tape camera anymore it's not that much of an issue, but will work great for sequences.
