Ive won't be the next CEO, his field is design, the man who brings Steve's visions to reality. While Tim Cook does a great job standing in for Steve, I can't help but think Scott Forstall will step up. He's young, he's dynamic, and he's a great public speaker. Job's also brought him over from NeXT.
CEO: "administrator in charge of total management of a corporation, company, organization, or agency, reporting to the board of directors."
Design, marketing, or public relations don't fall under that mantle. The way someone speaks doesn't make them person qualified for the highest executive position in a company.
Last night i was thinkig about who would be the next CEO, and i thought i was the only one who thought ive would be good. I good could serriously see him as CEO
Pixar is part of Disney now after they were acquired over two years ago. So no, he's not the CEO of Pixar anymore because it doesn't exist as a company anymore but as a division of Disney. However, he is the largest individual shareholder in Disney and clearly still has an overwhelming influence at the company.
no, he WAS the largest shareholder of of pixar but when it got acquired by disney he became the largest individual shareholder of disney. that doesnt mean he is the largest overall shareholder, but as an individual he owns more disney shares than any other individual.... look up up!
The natural flow of business and life is something that is happening with Apple. Jobs is moving to a secondary position so that can handle his illness and can move the necessary strings to guide Apple. Definetely he will step down as CEO and will preserve a honorary position. Neither Jonathan or Phil will become the next CEO.
Let's remember that Steve Jobs never graduated from college. I doubt many people would argue he didn't do some amazing things in his professional career. Is degree/experience really the biggest factor here like you suggest? I don't really think you're right on that.
i didnt say that education is everything in this video i talk abtou the education and the experience factor and how they are both important, because i know with steve jobs its all talent adn experience. ive read a few books on steve jobs and hes natural.
Also its kinda hard to say someone will make a good CEO based off how well they present something. All the other things CEO's deal with such as being a visionary, knowledgeable in every aspect of the company, decision making, etc makes telling someone how good a product is seem like cake.
Experience will always trump Education. All a degree says is that your capable of doing something while experience proves you can do something. On another note it will be interesting to see how Apple handles the transition of moving away from Steve Jobs. Apple is a company that doesn't make many mistakes so it would be hard to fathom them screwing up such a major decision as to who will be the next CEO.
experience trumps education to an extent, i think there both important, i think education gets you to the position and experience carries you further, its not always the case of ppl moving up, thats natural talent, which not everyone has, hence why education is the platform and experience carries you up, just my view.lol
I can agree with that statement. Education is diffidently important. I think of education as being a key to open doors to opportunity. However most employers would take an applicant that has more experience rather than more education.
Nope. Your wrong. More than 75% of the people in america only make around $12,000 a year, did you know that? People don't make as much money as you think, just look at all the people who work for wendy's, mcdonalds, target, walmart, kmart, burger king, perkins. Dude, there are several million who make as low as money as I do.
The guy below you summed it up best. Only about 20% of people make that. And the poverty line is like 13,000. So yea you are living in poverty. As I said before, congratulations.
Are you a fucking dumb piece of shit? Yes you are! More than fucking half the fucking population in my state alone are made up of people who work the retail and fast food industry! God you are fucking stupid dumb fuck. Dude, you don't know shit. Poverty? Nope, I'm middle class working hard, 40 hours a week num nuts! I'm living a high life, easy life. Geeze your dumb.
"More than fucking half the fucking population in my state alone are made up of people who work the retail and fast food industry!" First I doubt that, second if it is true that means that Minnesota is a state full of losers. And yes 13,000 and below is the poverty line. Go look at the goverment website I think it is dob(dot)gov. "I'm living a high life," Living the high life? Making 12 grand a year working at target? If that is the high life then I am ballin out of control. lol
Although I like Jony Iva - I am not sure how good a 'CEO' he would become. I haven't seen much, in fact only at the Macbook launch. I can't comment on his abilities as to what his leaderships skills are AND how much of a leader he is.
When I saw Ive present at the new Macbook event in October, via the Apple events website, I thought he was awful. Jony Ive can't present at all, in my view.
Thanks again for responding to my video. You made a great point about Phil Schiller's academic background...I think a lot of it has to do with experience and familiarity with the company rather than just what sort of degree someone has.
yeah. i really thought Jobs was still in Pixar. Weird..
but hey did you look at the bio on Apple's website about Jobs? It doesn't say he was former Pixar. It just said "Jobs now serves on Disney's board of directors" because they emerged with disney. Check it out.
Also, I would ask if you like Mac so much why not use a Mac as apposed to windows.(Most CS grads would also say PC, as opposed to windows in describing a PC.) If you like Mac but need to use windows, they why not just install windows on a MAC. You see, these things don't really fit the script.
You would think that a computer science professor would say that they have a degree in CS, an I would think that most programmers would use a Mac with Unix or Linux installed on it as opposed to Using windows. I personally know 15 programmers and I can't point to one of us that uses Windows in our day to day; it's just too "heavy" an Os to be practical.
and on a side note: You write C++ but just don't have the time to figure out a markup language, choosing to use Webs to host your site, I think not sir.
I say that because most people that have a degree in math, use "Maths" as a term to describe it. They would say they have a degree in mathematics, or that they work with equations. I don't know you, so I have no Idea in reality, you may very well work in maths. I would say, looking at his question that DRBUK had the same initial feeling, but he just ask a qualifying question as apposed to attacking your statement at it's core.
Cook spent time at compaq? NO NO NO NON NO> That IS NOT WHO WE WANT RUNNING APPLE. SOmeone to turn it into a compaq type dealer. NO WAY. NO WAY. Apple fans would shit if someone from compaq came in. Id never use apple again if they brung in a pc guy.

steve is a fucking slave driver. He pushes his people more than anyone and his people want to please him. But ive or phil woulnd not and could not push teh employees as hard as steve without a revolt. They only work for steve 90 hours a week. If phil or ive talked to them the way steve does they would quit. They need someone who commands employees like jobs. Phil and ive isnt it, they are to soft.
how do u know that he wont i hope that he does not but how r we ment to know wot they are doing in apple HQ we dont know if he is or if he is not we will just have to wait and see at there last macworld coz jobs might show up there but just not give the keynote as we all know
trust me, i know. Stock holder know before anyone. If he was dying our stock would die. Last time it dropped 11%. Steve isnt dying. take it from someone who lives and breaths apple. he isnt dying of cancer i should say. Will he have a haert attack or get hit by a car. I dont know, but he isnt dying fromm cancer
ok cool well as long as he is not ill then thats the main bit and im not even a apple user yet i will b getting my first ever macbook in march i hope getting bord with windows now lol seeing as u know your stuff about apple wot do u think of the new 13.3" macbooks??
there will be no replacement for a long time. Steve is to tied to teh success of Apple. They have to figure a way to seperate steve from apple or no matter who they get will die. They have to find a way to make apple exist without steve and i dont think they can he is to tied into the core of apple. HE IS APPLE.
I think Phil would be great as CEO. I do like Jon more though... but Phil would be good and I'm happy that he will give the keynote at Macworld. I still remember when he demoed the first iBook clamshells jumping off a 20 foot platform lol. As for Pixar, Steve sold pixar and became the highest shareholder at Disney. A lot of management from Pixar have taken over management jobs at Disney. not sure what Steve's role is anymore, besides being on the board of Directors at Disney.
he owns more stock than ANYONE in disney. Is the the MAJOR share holder. which means he owns more of disney than anyone. Since hes the largest share holder he conrols a lot. It was a very good move on steves part. he weilds more power now than he ever did at pixar
You've managed to get past this field that everyone else struggles with.

yes i know, thats why im saying its natural talent. its either, u can be educated and as a result shine or you can be naturally talented work ur way thought the ranks and shine. steve jobs is natural talent, hence me saying that for phil schiller.

NO, Ives designed teh ipod, the mimac, the mac pro, the ipod touch etc. NO WAY are they gonna move ive from design. Design is what sets apple apart. If ives took ceo he wouldnt be designing anymore. IVE WILL NOT be CEO
Phil isnt bad, but im pretty sure that the reason steve is leaving because of health issues, something to do with his cancer he had back a few years ago that he recovered from :\
Duke is an amazing university to get a degree from. I think Tim Cooke will become the next CEO, because he was a temp CEO which practically gives him the position.
ahh had a feeling, its standing was good. ye tim cook is def the man in terms of managing the business from all aspects but not sure about his views and ideas on products, i guess he will leave that to the team
Enjoyed the video, one other thing to think about is a new CEO does not always come from within the ranks of the company... it could be a fresh face altogether.
ahhh right, thats sweet, thanks for the info, im surprised stupid websites and things like wiki never put it that way, well congrats to steve, even better.lol. thanks for that.

IDK where you're from or who told you those figures, but they're wrong.
Roughly 20% of American households earn less than $20,000. The majority being students and retired or disabled individuals.
As for the fast food/retail employees, lets assume they are working full time earning minimum wage ($7.25)... they would earn about $15,000 a year.

Apple should expand it's company into Open source, and put a Computer Programmer at the head of Apple.
Technology business should not be driven by the bottom line, but by pursuing the next step in technology.
The essence of good business is providing service far and above that of your competitors.
The more Business degrees that one has, the more full of B.S. one is.

Enjoyed the video, one other thing to think about is a new CEO does not always come from within the ranks of the company... it could be a fresh face altogether.

yep true true, good point, i guess we never think of that since apple always talk in house, and rumors always pick things in house.lol

great video, Jonathan Ive would be a great ceo but he is so closed and secretive, Steve left pixar in 2006 when walt disney bought it
dj5dog 3 years ago
steve semi-sold pixar to disney and is now the chairman of the board of directors at disney
