Pixar is part of Disney now after they were acquired over two years ago. So no, he's not the CEO of Pixar anymore because it doesn't exist as a company anymore but as a division of Disney. However, he is the largest individual shareholder in Disney and clearly still has an overwhelming influence at the company.

Also its kinda hard to say someone will make a good CEO based off how well they present something. All the other things CEO's deal with such as being a visionary, knowledgeable in every aspect of the company, decision making, etc makes telling someone how good a product is seem like cake.

Experience will always trump Education. All a degree says is that your capable of doing something while experience proves you can do something. On another note it will be interesting to see how Apple handles the transition of moving away from Steve Jobs. Apple is a company that doesn't make many mistakes so it would be hard to fathom them screwing up such a major decision as to who will be the next CEO.
