  • that's some skill in the piano

  • eric shouldnt sing, his voice has nothing special, like his guitar playing dóes

  • @wernerkonings Nonsense, he has a great voice.

  • Eric Clapton, Keith Richards AND Chuck Berry all in on the same stage. I am surprised the sky didn't open up and reveal God himself perched on a cloud with a saxophone jamming with the trio. Also Buddy Holly's their.

  • @BlackLedDoor94 And it looks like Robert Cray is there as well...God ? ...lol...

I think Grover could have handled it too...

  • Poor Chuck, all his life a parent of rock and roll, and he just wanted was the spotlight. Not even Clapton gave him any.

  • @TreySingz I assume you are joking. This whole concert was built around Chuck Berry and his music. He was the star attraction and centre of attention.

  • Oh yeah baby...

  • The Bitter & The Sweet, I Won't Have Any Babies For You, Loves this

  • best of 87,

  • I had goosebumps from beginning 'till the end. The best, most iconic musicians together playing a song so soulful, doesn't get any better than this!

  • assholes can be any color.

  • they're a living legend...

  • this song inspires me in soooo many ways. to be a better guitarist. a better singer. a better man. clapton forces humility onto me.

  • does anyone know what model of guitar does eric have right there???

  • @josalazar18 It's a Gibson ES 350T probably a 1956, due to the P90's pickups....unless it's a reissue of that model....... Chuck Berry use to play one..... Sweet sounding yes?

  • @Avalanche1368 yeah man its beautiful

  • All hail the King of Rock and Roll...JOHNNIE JOHNSON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!!!

  • This quality is incredible. :O

  • @debenito2... My pleaser, have a nice day!!!

  • Hey Man,

Thanks for uploading this mind-blowing set from "Hail Hail Rock 'n Roll" BUT, will you pleeeeeze change the title to "Wee Wee Hours" ? "Wee" means "little" as in "he's just a wee boy," but it can also mean in the early hours after midnight, say between midnight and three in the morning --which is why the song says that "in the wee wee hours, I think of you"

    OK?

  • mind your own business

  • @volfonijazzy Thanks for posting this cool video of some of the "best ever"'s in the field, together and lovin' it! I love to see what happens when musicians of this caliber, temperament, & stature (whether famous or not) get together.....pure synergistic magic. Makes me glad, all over again, that I've STILL got my "Berry's On Top" album & my 45 of "Maybelline." Surprised, though, that Johnny Johnson's name is not shown in the tags above. He plays some mean ol' piano Blues. More please, sir. (:

  • Clapton is God!

  • @MrBorjaVS

No...Chuck is God ...but Eric is Jesus lol :-)

  • chuck berry is fuckin epic

  • 20 people are officially dead!

  • @hotmn4u bit of a racist are you? is it really so necessary for everyone in the world to speak English? And what makes that person a greaseball?

  • @mrwizardweb I was wondering the same thing. Thank you for asking the question, mrwizardweb.

  • @mrwizardweb drop dead

  • @hotmn4u oh, you're not a racist, you hate everyone! Sorry to hear you are so angry and hurt by life. Glad I'm not you!

  • @mrwizardweb your an idiot

  • @hotmn4u thank you! your opinion means SO MUCH to me!

  • @mrwizardweb Raze has nothing to do with the language you speak

  • @JCEVADA8 Raze? I guess you have just shown us your level of intelligence too. What is the problem with patriciodemetrio posting a comment in Spanish? That is what all this stems from. hotmn4u made a racist statement by calling them a greaseball because it wasn't in English. Does everyone in the world need to speak English just to please you? And what do you mean by Raze?

  • @mrwizardweb and you sir are a genius... grammar has nothing to do with intelligence, specially if english is not your first language and RACE has nothing to do with the language you speak, don't you think?? you can be black and speak only chinese, or be asian and speak only english, that was my point... not about being right or wrong criticizing that other dude for posting a comment in spanish, all I'm saying is that you are not very bright yourself for calling him a racist ;)

  • @JCEVADA8 my initial comment was based wholly on the comment he made of calling the other person a greaseball. That is a racist comment, is it not?

  • @hotmn4u Oops, until you expressed your ignorance for all to see, nobody HERE knew you had received an inferior education; nor can you, it seems, properly write your OWN language with appropriate punctuation and capitalization. Why didn't you simply ask the gentleman what he said?

  • @hotmn4u You have no class and a 1/2 a brain.

  • @shakeAbooty88 I'm very sorry for you. I'dont speack english

  • @hotmn4u have you realized there are countries other than the USA? Why dont you learn spanish for a change and stop being so ignorant?

  • ive always maintained that chuck berry is the true king of rock n roll, he wrote all of his songs & he could play a guitar, something elvis couldnt do?

  • @scouserla1 2 facts, elvis play rocka billy, not rock and roll Chuck Berry played Blues, not Rock and roll, they are both great, the have simmilarities but elvis is the inventor, chuck is the king

  • @crimsongloryXV mr berry played blues and rock n rock, what do you call roll over beethoven, maybellene, johnny b goode, rock & roll music etc? i think you should buy some of chucks cds, i cant comment on elvis, but he's not rocka billy

  • @scouserla1 Let's not compare. They're both great. The thing about Elvis is that me married rhythm & blues to rockabilly; a white guy who could sing like a black guy...he brought it all to the table. Both tore down the race barriers, coz you couldn't stop white kids from buying Chuck Berry records..I say, they share the crown..(but don't tell Little Richard!)

  • @DavidCKendall are you having a laugh? i'm white, elvis was a white boy, end of, its been well docoumented, no chuck, no beatles, no stones?

  • Man, Steve Jordon is a great drummer.

  • wow love this song very much...

  • 20 dodecaphonists were here...

  • Gotta hand it to Clapton, he didnt go all Johnny Winter on that second solo, just kept it simple.... a lot to learn there.

  • Chuck Berry kneels in front of you during your solo ? You are a guitar god.

  • Wee, Wee Hours...not we we hours. (As in early hours, not time to go to the bathroom hours!)

  • uuuuuuuu....uuuuuu! buna a mai fost!

  • te eriza la piel

  • Three of the GREATEST guitar players. Such an honour just 2 watch :)

  • el numero 1.

  • Keef scrubs up well doesnt he? Smart Teddy boy outfit and all.

  • Simply beautiful

  • Ahh Man! Can you dig the Cool gitttin down in your vertebrae?

  • Eric Clapton...nuf' said

  • who is playing the piano ?

  • @connorandbake Johnnie Johnson (may God rest his soul) the f*cking best blues piano player of the whole known universe :)

  • This is so sexy & puts you in the mood - nothing like the blues combined with Eric Clapton, Keith Richards & Chuck Berry, so terrific.....aah....

  • dang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Um encontro épico desses com essas lendas tem pouco mais de 1 milhão de acessos e um lixo que nem o justin bieber ter 600 milhões é coisa que não da pra acreditar...

  • Could heaven be any better than this ????

  • it would seem that a lot of folks think Richards is a great guitarist. even by his own admission, he really is at best, mediocre as far as virtuousity on the instrument. i feel that his greatness is really and truly in creating and co-writing most all those great Stones tunes. as far as i'm concerned, if i had that kind of talent and creativity, i'd be more than happy with my accomplishments!

  • @tomcaat1 I think you (and maybe even keith himself) underestimate him as a guitarist. His lead playing is lacking I`ll give you that, but his sense of rhythm is phenomenal. He is the musical core of the stones, as everyone in the band follows him. Listen to "midnight rambler" and "rip this joint" from brussels 1973, the pace he puts the band in is phenomenal. I would also argue that he is a much better acoustic player than electric, but that might be my opinion.

  • sans lui le blues serait inexistant et a foriori le rock

  • When you have keith richards on a rythm guitar, you know you're in heaven

  • that was fcking epric

  • A Gibson ES.

  • its weird seeing eric clapton play a gibson

  • @TheNoseGlasses isnt it a guild?

  • @sPutty92 No, you can tell by the headstock.

  • @alanyoung2 I can see why you would think that but the guild capri and most of the guild hollow bodies from the mid sixties and seventies had head stocks like that.

  • @alanyoung2 ok i see it now, youre right. definitely a gibson. do you know what type per chance?

  • @sPutty92 It is an ES-350T . I believe Chuck Berry once played this model before moving to the ES -355.

  • @Geepsterr Thanks dude! I'm not a big fan of 335s. I'll have to find an Es-350T and have a play. I dig the tone.

  • @sPutty92 Yeah I don't like the look of 335 at all nor does it sound much different than an SG after all 335 345 & 355 are all solid in the middle with hollow wings though I THINK the 350T is also .330 is Hollow I kind of like 355 Lucille with no f holes Byrdland is cool too but has about a 22.5 or 23 inch scale as opposed to the typical 24 n change. Check out the Al Caiola models old US Epiphone , hollow no F holes 18 or 19 frets = DEEP tone . Very blue.

  • @Geepsterr Yes he did used to play the ES-350T before the ES-355. There is an image of it on this page below.

    i977 photobucket com/albums/ae254/blueguitarz17/large_DSC01473 jpg

  • @blueguitarz17 Do you know if the 350T is solid in the middle also. I once loved the Byrdland & now really like the ES-137 which is what "Uncle Ted " uses part of the time now , and has a few prime examples . I was out on tour with him last summer for a bit ...in the opening act . Hes got like 20 F hole guitars onstage but only plays ~ 5. Still mostly the old Byrdland .

  • @Geepsterr The ES-350T is a hollowbody, like the ES-330 (no centre block). The ES-335,345,355, are classed as semi-hollowbodys due to their maple centre blocks, plus with humbuckers, give added sustain and reduced feedback, compared to a hollowbody. Though a semi-hollowbody tend to be more muddy, than a hollowbody.

ES-350/330 were originally more suited to jazz, whilst ES335 etc were more suited to rock/blues.

    h t t p : / / home.provide.net/~cfh/gibson3.h t m l - For ES-350/350T specs history

  • @blueguitarz17 Thanks about the 350T center block .I knew all the rest including fat 350's just didn't.notice the width here . I gigged heavily w a 61 Strat, '59 355 a . ~ 58 LP Jr , & a ~ 69 ) LP Custom since early 70's & I don't give the humbucker any credit for sustain over a P 90 , of course the center block . I'd discussed pickups with Les and he disliked the humbucker , said so quite emohatically & almost never used them when playing .

  • @Geepsterr Thats ok, I myself am not overly keen on the humbucker tone, its ok in a live situation for reduced feedback, but at times I find it to muddy, and dark/dull. If you asked which pickups i'd rather have P90s or 57 c humbucker, I'd probably pick P90 everday of the week. Though I just generally prefer single-coils to humbuckers in general, it just where it all started for gibson and fender with pickups in a guitar, before the introduction of humbuckers, original vintage tone.

  • @Geepsterr Plus I agree the humbucker doesn't give added sustain, thats down to the added centreblock. Unplugged I find a hollowbody guitar like a ES330/350 to have more tonal quality than that of an ES335.

You can, if dialled in right, make a P90/singlecoil pickup sound like a humbucker but not make the humbucker sound like a singlecoil. I just find there to be more tonal range with a single-coil, but I don't mind a humbucker/single-coil pickups combo in a telecaster.

  • @Geepsterr I can see Les Paul definitely prefering the P90/single-coil tone, in the same way he did'nt like the introduction of the SG, as the new LP design.

A LP 52 reissue with long trapeze tailpiece and no bridge is what i've been looking for, and a while back i could of purchased one (w/P90), but opted to get a ES330, but would'nt say no to one now. Its intonation, and keeping it in tune is not its best quality, but its tone has a different complexity to it compared to a 54 onwards LP w/P90.

  • @blueguitarz17 I love the sound of wrap around combo bridge tailpiece. I've played the 52-53 LP goldtop and I hated it : You can't palm mute at all 'cause the strings wrap under the bar. The pickups then must have had less winding because that guitar very transparent and sparkly highs , kinda like an old Hagstrom 2, nice.

  • @Geepsterr Yes the pickups on LP 52 do sound sort of brighter, with sparkly highs, so its possible the pickups are less over wound, but I do like the 52 for its left of field sound, compared to the regular, more muddy sounding LP with the wrap around tailpiece/bridge combo or the stopbar tailpiece/bridge combo. Though 53 and 54 LP are easier to live with in the instance of their construction, and give you more range to experiment, plus i would have the 52 LP as more of a side guitar.

  • @Geepsterr The guitar Eric Clapton plays here is a Gibson ES350 (1952 model), which had a standard Gibson 2-PU knob configuration of 2 volume knobs and two tone knobs and a 3-way switch w/ two P90s. The ES350 model was made between (1947-56), which had two P90s.

In 1956 the ES350 was replaced with the ES350T (Thin line version), which had humbuckers replace the P90s.

  • @TheNoseGlasses he used to play a gibson all the time in the yarnbirds, and when he was in cream, his famous first gibson les paul was stolen

  • @UKToneKing Yeah most notably SG Standard, Firebird 1 , ES-335.

  • Dos grandes genios!!!!!

  • Taken from concert"60th birthday C,Berry"

  • All three on stage at the same time? i would love to be there

  • Wow, we.

  • Too good to be true!

  • Is Clapton playing a Gibson, or am I seeing wrong??

  • @grainin93 Clapton playing the guitar for sure....one of the best!!

  • @grainin93 what's unusual about that? ...

  • @Zzthejoe Nothing, I just didn't know if it was a Gibson or some other guitar

  • @grainin93 He's, but if you ask him about this fact, he will change speech!

  • Eric on the same guitar he regretted picking up at Concert For Bangladesh for 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'?
