However, a G.U.N. agent caught her and pointed a gun at her as she was about to pull the lever, so she chose to sacrifice her own life to save Shadow's. When Maria pulled the lever, the agent shot her. The scene is depicted in better detail in the Japanese version of Sonic X, specifically Episode 36, which you can download from the site Tails Kicks Ass.

I havent gotten this far in the show, but Ive heared things about Shadow and Maria. I thought they were in love with eachother or something, but people are saying it was only like bro and sister love... Idk, but Im going to watch it myself and find out how I see it! It'd be amazing if Shadow was in love with a human girl, I'd go insane<3 even if its brother and sisterly love though, I still think their the cutest thing ever, and their story is just so sad... someone told me she dies.
