I wish Mexicans would get some pride already and work to reform their government. They have plenty of natural resources, two beautiful coast lines, and the people generally have a strong work ethic. Mexico could be just as prosperous as Canada. The governemnt is so corrupt however nothing will happen until the people take back the country.

Agreed. While living in Mexico I met many people who were absolutely fed up with the corruption, especially in the law enforcement. Many were under the impression things would change when the PRI, who had dominated the goverment for decades, finally lost when Vicente Fox of PAN won the presidential election, but nearly ten years have passed without change.

Once corruption has infiltrated every level of a country (police, govt., judges, etc.), it's very difficult to get rid of.
