wish I could attach a video, am sending you the mp3 I made using your piano tracks, took the lowest bass notes down real low, addedstrings for chord arrangements and added vocal, sounds good, if I were rich, I'd send you money for a better piano, it would cost a lot to rebuild the upright, too bad, the sound is really good in medium to high registers.
Don't mind what they say about that piano! An old piano has no superior when it comes to sound and resonance. That rendition has to be the most beautiful I have ever heard. You play extremely well.
this is an arrangement of Softly and Tenderly that was done by Raymond Brown, I don't know if it still published. My friend had it in a Cynthia Clausen book which she bought at one of the singer's concerts. I was able to get it through my friend's music shope but it may have been an archival print, I have just been looking for this song. I may have to reorder the sheet music, can't find it. Very moving, audiences love it.
Great Job - it is so difficult to learn a song just by hearing it! I have heard Cynthia Clawson do this live - surprised her only posts are thre hymn arrangement - yep - this is my fav! Great to see a man with a nice touch on the piano - who plays the music - and not just the notes! Glory to God!
Beautiful rendition. You play with the emotion and passion this song deserves. It is a blessing to hear this song. Please consider, however, re-recording it using a better sounding piano. Unfortunately, the sound of the piano detracts from the softness and tenderness of the music. But, don't let my critique be discouraging. It is only meant to enhance the tender qualities you have already infused into the arrangement.

Original tune in hymnbooks was composed by Will L. Thompson. This arrangement is by Raymond Brown (my favorite version). Lovely execution - bravo!

You made that song sound lovely considering the piano you had to play it on. :) I could hear the words as you were playing the music.

I saw this song sung in a movie about 5 years ago. Anyone have a clue what the name of the movie was?

It's pretty much the theme song of the movie The Trip to Bountiful.

I'd rather play a rough old upright than a keyboard or grand any day.
