  • Tea is a good thing to add for moral support, how ever if it contains caffeine it'll make you have to piss more, eventually causing dehydration.

  • maybe put some back up money in it and some flint and possiblya battery.

  • Quit mumbling. Speak louder so you can be heard and not put me to sleep.

  • not bad

  • What? No condum?

  • should carry a fresnel lens in the kit, lasts forever

  • well done nice video lot of good ideas keep up the good work

  • Don't paint with heat resistant paint. You need the tin to get hot to make char cloth. Poke a hole in the top of the tin and cover the hole up with the rubber band. That will help make char cloth. Don't forget water purification tablets.

  • Tea.....Hmmmmm interesting .....

  • Also Maby some thin steel wire like a guitar string for a snare or bow saw or even to make tinder to start a fire or cut a notch for a deadfall.. Hope this helps

  • No bad guy, but what about a small compass? Or a small cheep 3$ laser? And rather than waterproof matches u should use a small ferro rod, the Mich metal one a small 1/4 by 3inch rod would fit perfect in their and make literally hundreds of fires. And u should put some Vaseline on the cotton. Trust me, I camp in the northern woods f Maine for 3 weeks at a time and no phone unless it's a satellite phone. But I literally have been lost for 3 days out in the middle of nowhere and relied solely on a

  • No button compass??

  • its pronounced wenger

  • Tea for a survival tin?! Yes I can see how you would definitely die without tea lol

  • Yo check out my vid of the mini survival kit I made

  • Take out THE tea

  • No good except to hold 2 bandaids and a bookmatch.

  • thaks for the video i got some ideas

  • u forgot to add the condom

  • You dont tell me when to not give suggestions. >:)

  • geoftbone

Its not that this is a bad kit at all, but it has serious problems!!!

Matches for survival: NO FUCKING WAY!!! 5 MATCHES WILL GIVE YOU 5 FIRES, A FIRESTEEL WILL GIVE YOU THOUSANDS OF FIRES!

Also take out the fucking tea, it does not belong in any survival kit, at least not one as small as this ;) You can use natural resources to make your fucking tea!

  • awesome kit, got alot of ideas from it, but your voice made me want to go to sleep :P

  • Hey if i were you i would change matches for a lighter

  • @cjgordon3 No, neither matches or lighters belong in ANY survival kit! Firesteels are the best, really :D

  • add a condom mate. not that youd be using it for that. and i dont mea to sound like you couldnt. im sure you could. i mean its a great way of water collecting......p.s. and your friends wont ask to drink water from your rig.

  • ....... A very good idea, but executed a bit childishly.

  • swap the birthday candles with trick candles, better if its windy!

  • i was holding the same knife that you showed at 3:45... o.O

  • great idea on the birthday candles ! never saw that before. and replace the matches with a small bic lighter--take up same space as matches. also could replace the wet wipes with alcohol pads or something similar. looks like the wet wipes took up more space...

i think you have a good kit , and again, love the candles...thanks for the vid.

  • @Super8BITProductions i don't think time is relevant in a survival situation...but here's how to tell time without a clock----when the sun comes , up it is morning...when the sun goes down , it is night....good enough !!!

  • @BeneliM1014 he said that the matches themselves are waterproof .....

  • Put some money in if u lose your phone you can use a pay phone and get a please to stay the night if you get lost and pay for food if you run out

  • That silver thing is a old fashions razor

  • I just got Curiously Strong Peppermints in mine

  • Cover your match heads in wax

  • Might as well put the whole kit inside a 1 quart ZipLoc and fold it over and secure it with RANGER bands ... The ranger bands will extend the tinder flame ... The ziploc wil water-proof your entire kit (if you fall in a creek, for instance) and you can carry a quart of water in it, too. - BTW, One CRITICALLY ESSENTIAL item that you really do need is a "flat-pack" of Katadyne water purification tablets ... A midget fire-steel from goingear or firesteel (dot coms) is also a FUNDAMENTAL component.

  • I like how you make a kit to get back home you have a kit that is practical, not one for surviving in the woods :P I have 2 tins, one for when i go camping, its allways in my back pocket incase i get lost or lose my backpack, and the other for everyday

  • Cool tin u should cut down on a few things and all a bigger candle to keep fire longer

  • maches suck, have a ligher

  • @PittRules55 take out the the wet ones and add little acohol wipes

  • 14+1=15... not 16

  • nice. :3

  • doods got a tooter in there

  • :)

  • AARRRR u talk so slow

  • friend: got a mint

You:nope just a fucking survival kit in my back pocket!!!!

  • @jacksplices haha thats funny

  • @jacksplices Are you glad to see me, or is that a survival kit in your pocket?

  • @possums1010 Both!?

  • i just ate my last altoid (peppermint) (red) and im just searching on youtube.."what sould i watch" ...."altoid" O.o survival kit ..."wtf??" *click* NICE :D

smart. and surprised how much stuff fit

  • U went from 14 to 16 lol great video tho

  • Could someone make suggestions on mine mrgeico97 thanks :)

  • quiet good for a small size survival kid.

  • where do you get the altoids tin?

  • good survival kit but i think you should add more mattches or take out the matches and use a small bic lighter

  • where's the weed ?

  • lol "why is everything wet?"

  • なぜにツールナイフが、2つある?

  • you are so boring

  • If your kit is brken down -WHY the VIDEO ?

  • good start, I would take out the wet wipes and tea bag and replace them with an alcohol prep pad and a chicken bouillon cube I use a mini bic lighter allowing for more fire attempts. I also wrap fishing line around the lighter and duck tape it in place and then i tape 3 fishing hooks the inside lid and also include one small lure.I also wrap the seem in electrical tap to make it waterproof Again only suggestions and as time goes on you will slowly tweak your tin based on location

  • Awesome start. Hope you don't mind if I share a couple of my ideas with you. put in 4 quarters if I need a payphone and a $5 bill.

On the outside, I put some reflective tape. Its kind of expensive (about 10 bucks) but it makes a nice night time signal.

Coleman makes soap sheets. They are little papers that turn into soap when they are wet. It would be a good change from your wet ones.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • @geoftbone Thanks for your help!

  • @PittRules55 put a bic mini lighter if you run out of fluid you will still have a flint and steel-ish thing on the lighter

  • Hope you notice that rubber ban can use as emergency fire starter. also they are water proof. so i would suggest you to put a cuple more rubber bans there.

  • @geoftbone How can reflective tape make a nice night time signal? it's dark at night lol it would make a good daytime signalling mirror though.

  • @MrSkooty1968 I don't mean reflective like a mirror. I mean reflective like the kind of warning signs that seem to light up when headlights hit them at night. During the day, its just a red thing that blends in with all the other colors of life. But, at night, when you need to get the attention of a car passing by, you can stand by the road with your reflector to get thier attention.

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • its a razor Dumb Ass

  • Good for you kid, we all started somewere. at least you have something.

dont listen to the stupid shits that judge and dont do anything themselves.

  • "why is everything wet" t.w.s.s. hahaha

  • ditch the wengers and get a victorinox, they are much better

  • @2010blackhawkdown i have to swiss champ

  • @PittRules55 get the hercules, not too bulky but has all the tools you'll need

  • It's a great start buddy. Don't let the bad comments keep you down. We all have to start some where. At least you made a kit, most arm chair commandos don't even make their own kits or videos.

  • @swilliams2482 Thanks I am glad you understand.

  • @PittRules55 fill your straw with charcoal so it doubles as a water filter

  • one thin you could do is to strip the red cover off the knife, switch to a coffee straw, cut the matches in half since you have the candles, alcohol pad you can get one of those 1 use wipes (1/4 size)-- things to add needle, thread, compass, zip ties, band aid, pain killer wrapped in foil, one thing i did to mine is taped a copy of morris code to the top of my can

  • definitely no condoms needed in this kit, you boring motherf***er

  • this is so un-entertaining :|

  • @rakkkhi

Everyone is better off not reading your horrible grammar. It's like trying to decode freaking morse code. Go back to 2nd grade. The kid did better than u would have. If your speech is anything like your spelling, people will get headaches trying to understand.

  • @obsidiantesseract yep, thanks

  • roflmfao this was posted on my b-day :)

  • you are the absolut worst i ever saw everybody is better off than you EVERYBODY even women have a purse that is more suitable for surviving than you

  • @rakkkhi thx

  • ill buy it

  • You should add a ziploc bag, for water or food storage. Good video though.

  • you are so freaking boring !

how do u get a girls attention?

  • @raws77 idk i just do.

  • "alumminum foil..just in case i need to smoke sum crack"

  • good call on tea. in the sas survival guide it says that tea quenches your thirst.

  • o and 2 candles, and 5 matches

  • you actually have 16 things, cuz you have 2 band-aids, and 2 rubber bands, can you count retard

  • and add a page of survivil stuff. wrong spelling

  • add in tablits

  • I am just waiting for somebody to make a Survival Tin video, The lid opens to reveal a Mobile Phone.

  • My survival kit is always with me. Every day. Waterproof and flexible....Trojans.

  • Lol the second multiple tool I thoughtmwas a feeler gauge at first.

  • The problem with EVERY one of these survival kit videos is that they go TOO SLOW!!! Freakin' say what you have in it & get on with it! I'd like to make one of these kits but every person who makes one of these videos spends way too long talking about each and every item! Geez! I fall asleep before they ever finish the damn video!

  • @Buanand You inspired me, see my kit in 2:33 on my channel

  • you have the showman ship of road kill

  • is the tin waterproof? because you didn't have any protection covering your matches.

  • @madmicah2 Whoa! He didn't put a waterproof covering over his WATERPROOF MATCHES!? He must be really dumb.

  • you sound depressed

  • No disrespect, but you should speak a good bit louder. Half the things you say, I can't hear because your muttering. Good video though.

  • Neat kit, I got lost in the woods for a day sad thing was it was my backyard.

  • nice kit

  • Do a web search for "mini fresnel lens" and pack one in there. That'll give you a solar powered fire starter!

  • i put a small candy bar in mine for energy just take a bite size and cut it in half

  • you might like to add a basic fishing kit

    nylon line

    weights

    hooks

    would be nice

    thanks for posting .

  • this is the best mini survival kit i have ever seen

  • its a very well organized kit

  • have the same knife

  • Not a bad idea. If you're interested in making one of these, might I suggest the Otterbox 1000. Its slightly larger than an altoid can (If you really wanted altoid can would fit perfectly inside of it) Its water proof and tough as nails. Hope this helps anyone interested in small survival kits.

  • you need a compass, water/windproff matches, tea candle NOT birthday candles, snare wire, paper clips, a fishing kit, water purifacation tablets, aspirin, safety pins, magnifying glass, nedlees and thread, skip the tea bag put in Caffeine tablets, morse code, skip the wet ones, roll the duct tape over a real credit card, and the tip on the nail file is a screwdriver not a nail cleaner, more first aid stuff and the S.A.S survival guide

  • You could kill small rodents with the knife no joke

  • Lol mini camp fire with tooth picks surrounding a tea light

  • you need a compass, water/windproff matches, tea candle NOT birthday candles, snare wire, paper clips, a fishing kit, water purifacation tablets, aspirin, safety pins, magnifying glass, nedlees and thread, skip the tea bag put in Caffeine tablets, morse code, skip the wet ones, roll the duct tape over a real credit card, and the tip on the nail file is a screwdriver not a nail cleaner, more first aid stuff and the S.A.S survival guide

  • @MrOpsexton dude, its an ALTOIDS can you cant really fit that much stuff in it

  • I hope you have another larger and better kit to go along with that.

How are you going to make shelter?

How are you going to cut wood?

Those matches aren't going to last long term. Do you know how to make a bow drill or a hand drill?

How are you going to gather food?

How are you going to carry and store water?

Have you ever cooked in that tin or boiled water in it?

  • Suggest you add mole skin & small compass. Otherwise good start kit...

  • I carry my bacpack in my tin. I also carry in my tin a military shovel, a machete, two sleeping bags, a three person tent and a five pound bag of rice

  • Comment removed

  • I personally think that is a piss poor excuse for a survival tin... Just my opinion !

  • every survival kit needs BEER!

  • It's a good survival kit but loose the tea

  • 1:45 "a pretty good amount" of string to make a "thing"-good tip!

  • thumbs up

  • @mrabergs1 you do know you shuold just press the thumbs up button

  • @robinwidmer94 Im not from switzerland.

  • @robinwidmer94 fail of a comment

  • did you ever rebuild another kit since you dismantled the altoids one?

  • @nesbitt615 no I just put what I need in my backpack.

  • @PittRules55 Small kits do come in handy, I've used bits and pieces of mine on road trips and deployments. It's a good idea the SAS had it right

  • @PittRules55 what if u lose ur backpack? ;)

  • @PittRules55 what if you lose your backpack?

  • @captaincompost123 your more likly to losse an alotids tin than a backpack

  • go master cub scout

  • i have ALTOIDS smalls.

  • u mnow ur kinda a jerk

  • im in cadets and we get imp's you've probably heard of them and the canadian ones come with a little packet of tabasco sauce and im going to put one in my kit, you know why "because i put that shit on everything"

  • you could put ichiban powder stuff in it

  • did you say u were going to spray paint it with paint thats heat resistant then if had to u would cook in it thats odd

  • holy fuck dude sounds like your about to fall asleep!

  • i have one of those knifes but it has a fork and a spoon on it

  • @thecrazyvideomaker i got one of them too

  • pretty nice

  • i used to keep a altoid survival kit in my pocket, i had it everywhere i went. i kept a pipe, lighter, rolling papers, razor blade, crutch material, screens, pot, and money. that thing was sweet.

  • @bailey2829 sweet urban survival kit

  • @bailey2829 yes! this guys got the idea

  • Heating aluminium is a bad idea man - not only that tin, but also that foil. Try and cook in it, it'll break the oxide layer that keeps aluminium from reacting with just about everything, and itll act as a gradul poison. I know this is a worst case scenario box, but still, bad plan man.

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 Ya thanks i dont think i was ever going to cook in it anyway but thanks for the headsup.

  • @PittRules55 have you ever made hobo dinners? no?

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 maybe if you do it everyday for a whole life..in a survivalsituation it doesnt matter at all..and did you ever eat a potatoe baked in tin foil?

  • @IthenGer but the tin foil is exposed to the skin nit the actual potatoe

  • @TheEnglishRedneck45 Are you certain? Most restaurants cook with aluminum skillits and pans? Any referances?

  • @whankerNJ That is an interesting point, aluminium is indeed used in the majority of cook ware - strong, light weight and cheap. It will be coated with another metal to prevent the aluminium from reacting with certain foods, or can be anodised to thicken the oxide layer. This is the layer that prevents aluminium from reacting in most normal circumstances - without it, it is a highly reactive. Check out cooking with aluminium on cookingforengineers. com. Whether it is dangerous, is contentious.

  • I'm in the making of a Altoids Tin Survival Kit right now, I'll probably post a video on it when I'm done. So far I have two birthday candles, tin foil, metal wire, a multi-tool, cotton ball, and some rubber bands. Need some bandages, matches, maybe even Tylenol for fast-pain relieving action! Would sand-paper work for a match striker?

  • awesomeness

  • This is mine: tinfoil, fieldmaster swissarmyknife, six cotton balls soaked in petroleum jelly, paracord, six fish hooks and line, firesteel, ten matches, five Tylenols, wateproof sealed straw filled with neosporen, match striker taped to the top of inside of the tin

  • survival tins are shite, and so is anyone who says they are worh a damn, you have all butchered John "Lofty" Wiseman's original SAS Survival Tin, WANKERS!!!

  • @MRJSNLA1 I really don't think there that good and thats why i not longer have mine, i took all the stuff out and used it for other stuff and threw the tin in my junk drawer.

  • @PittRules55 So delete this video then, stop shoveling out crap to these kids

  • @MRJSNLA1 Idk it serves as an example for those who choose to make one for fun or because they like to use these style kits out in the woods.

  • @PittRules55 WRONG it serves as misinformation that is going to get a young child KILLED when they attempt to use one out in the woods. . . seems to me that you are just another armchair rambo
