Man I lost 80 pounds in a year. Now two years later its slowly creeping up. I'm 6.5 was 280 went down to 200 now im at 220. Im trying to get that six pack like yours its just so hard to maintain. I say its harder then losing weight.
@kokalti the body's like a car; if you let it sit in the garage and never run the engine, it'll just just rust and collect dirt. gotta maintain it and take her around the block a few times each week :-)
for anybody that's still in high school try joining the track team best way to get in better shape, most the time track is usually the sport that allows you to use the weight room the most, stay away from shot put or dont put yourself down if you cant throw as far as them most the time its usually heavy people in that team and thats there advantage. rarely theres actual fit people in that part of the sport.
Hey dude, just curious, what is your current body fat percentage? I'm like around 9% and want to reach about 7%. I love to run as well, and I'm currently doing the insanity program. But I also hear that nutrition is FAR more important than anything to get lean. Thanks man.
@milesrulezz i have way too much to worry about in life than the amount of carbs, fats, protein, etc., I'm taking in. This is bodybuilding magazine type of stuff and I don't subscribe to that way of living. Read the FAQ on my site about how many calories I consume.
@shakelightly oh okay. yes i know what you mean. do you know how many inches you have on your arms just wondering? And i have an idea for a video you could do :D it should be about bulking and cutting and your thoughts on getting stronger fast
Hey shake I got my abs to where i want them to be and i was just wondering is it possible to maintain them through just cardio? or do i have to continue my ab exercises as well?
@michduncanhbk i don't work my abs just to have abs...i work the abs to have a strong core which plays a huge part in overall body mechanics. if you want to increase the odds of staying injury free when doing your cardio, work the abs.
Thank you Shake! Great music and workouts of course:) Happy New Year and thanks for giving me the drive! The music is perfectly in-sync on so many levels!
Yes, finally I found a video that proves that running is one of the best workouts!..I have a lot of friends that hit the gym 6 days a week, always lift heavy weights and never do cardio, they look like a King size cheese burger!..instead of that I only hit the gym 3 days a week but always include cardio (running) in my routine and my body looks more healthier, lean, ripped and sexy that theirs...Thanks Shake!! you are awesome, I'm also following your abs and shoulder routines!!
@iamsuperfritz i mix it up week to week. too hard to answer your second question, many different combinations of doing both to achieve many different goals.
Running has always been one of the harder things for me. One, because I've just never really liked it, but because I feel I have so little incentive to do it already being so thin. I've always been warned that my metabolism would slow down, but here I am in my mid-20's weighing the same as I did in high school, which I'm not satisfied with. I think this may motivate me more to do it, if even for heart health. I'm just afraid being 135-145lbs at 5'11" without doing any real and regular cardio
@jaqdudley I called it The Hills of Silent Vincent. I made it myself. I haven't posted it to my site yet but if you search the Frequently Asked Questions page for "music" click on one of the links and you can find it to download.
Plus ... if you have Hormonal Disorders, you Won't get soon a Lean Belly ... especially if you are A Teenager who is Still a Virgin (this is just one example, I recommend everybody to go to an endocrinology to see their hormones)
but, The Most Natural Way To Order Your Hormones To Work Well, is SeX ... ... No SeX, No AbS ... ... I do A LoT of Cardio Effort in 2-3 days per week (rest of days I am very busy) but I Still have Big Belly Fat, not even Frequent Cardio won't help me,cause i'm virgin
My father, Gordon Pirie, was a long distance athelete in the 50's and he looked like he had escaped from a refugee camp - very thin and emaciated. My mother, Shirley Hampton, was a sprinter in the 50's and she had a much healthier body shape - she had amazing thighs and a six pack. She did weights as well.
@Cannonlvr It sure does. Running, I believe, saved my life. It's help me kick bad habits, deal with stress and find hidden gems along the trails of my local community. Once upon a time, I couldn't run for more than 2 minutes with shin splints, cramps, blisters and gasping for air...now, like Forest Gump, I can run until I decide I don't wanna run anymore.
@shakelightly As a nurse, I can certainly understand that. I am not happy with the process. It's long, hard, takes effort and utilizes self control. But it's sooooo worth it and it becomes an invaluable gift that keeps giving throughout life if you keep it up. After being in healthcare for 8 years, I'd say eating a recommended balanced diet and excersizing regularly are the best and most important things for being and staying healthy.
@shakelightly Very true Brandon! All the stress in the world can be pushed away with any type of vigorous activity. Thank goodness that my job has this because there is plenty of stress to go along with it. :-)
Thank you so much for the link to freedieting- one of the most comprehensive sites I have seen. Our body has been very motivational and your videos fun.
@faddycool if I had $1 for each time someone's asked me this, I'd never have to worry about paying the bills again. keep watching my vids, more updates coming :)
best thing to have 6 pack like you and me is : count calories , no carbs or fat or high calories in the night, do cardeo in the morning on an empty stomach for at less 30 min and train your Abs from all angels at less twice a week !
@iraqismartheart1 i do my cardio in the afternoon or at night---as long as you do it, there's no right or wrong time but you're absolutely right, counting calories is very, very, important! thanks for the comment!! :)
@shakelightly How can I learn to count colories. How can I know how many calories do I need during the day? Is there any formula for that? I am m. 175cm and 80kg. Thank you very much for showing us the right way ;)
@ALPHAandOMEGA44 thanks! yeah, look at any athlete who requires endurance in their sport---they're ripped to shreds! and if you follow MMA, 99.9% of the time, the guy with better cardio conditioning comes out victorious.
I'm willing to bet the majority of people who dislike this video will be meatheads or people who bought the ab roller when they should've purchased running shoes.
@ALPHAandOMEGA44 just read this again...I totally knew what you meant but some people might classify endurance differently than me. Sprinters = ripped to shreds. Cross country/marathon runners = usually look sickly.
@PigeonTech that's the purpose of this video---hoping to motivate people to start running! the time I get on my miles is how I balance my weight...when I first started running, I could barely make a full loop around the high school track without getting shin splints. I'm way more impressed with someone who can run 6 minute miles than someone who can bench a school bus.
@MrKbronct ...and people say running on sand or grass can increase injury too. people also say masturbating can lead to arthritis of the wrist(s)....both can be pleasurable and provide health benefits :D
What music do you listen while you running? Write some songs please. (Sorry for my English if something is not correct)
