  • Were you near Summerfield but its now Sainsburys

  • bamsticks man,,, midden, teucters, idiots, fools. typical newton stewart

  • man thats the carpark behind that shithole of a dive known as the local hotspot nightclub, dont go there, there is a stunted inbread motherfucking dwarf that will start a fight with any unknown face in them parts, burn it down, all of it.

Scotland is a great place dont be under the idea that this is scotland , it aint.

  • @captainzod Deluded freaks like you are the true scum of society, those who regard themselves as superior when you are anything but. Newton Stewart does have its bad eggs but what town of similar size doesn't? This IS Scotland, and there are many decent, friendly people in this place. Do not be under the idea that you are better than anyone from this town because of some bad experiance in the now demolished Riverside, if you got smacked, then by the smug sound of you, you deserved it. Nae luck.

  • whose voice is it? sound like Juliette Lewis

  • Great Vid.

  • Great video, great title. God it really can rain in Newton.

  • what on earth is the problem here a dont see any harm kids havin fun in a very wet nite fully clothed people need to get a grip .. in the city kids are stabbin shootin killin just for kicks so thank god for our newton someone capturing our local kids havin a splash instead of getting slashed .........

  • Nice work. Theres too much fear in this country. Making a video like this is not unlawful just because a child is in it. Madness.

  • imc277 one of these kids is my best friends little bro, he doesnt nor his family see anything sinister in it infact he thinks it is funny as f**k to put it in his words, you really need to get a grip on reality mate,

  • i have had this short film recommended to myself and friends on many occasion, people all over the area are talking about how good it is, kids being kids are the funniest thing on the planet if captured correctly, and i think 'bookshop man' (which i do know also) has captured this perfectly, imc277 get off your high horse mate, honestly pal i think you were the one kid who didnt get to sit on santa's knee when he was young!!

  • I really enjoyed that. Imc277 is totally wrong - totally.

  • The comment continues

"Filming kids is the biggest pain, usually because someone, in an effort to divert attention away from himself, will yell "you can't film kids". I counter with "I can't see anything remotely sexual about this situation, you obviously can, in which case I suggest you get therapy"."

Please note that this is a quotation from a site, not my words, but I think the point is relevant - if you can see something inappropriate in this film maybe the problem is you, not me.

  • "There is no offence to film anyone in a public place. The only exceptions are in the precincts of a court or premises covered by the Official Secrets Act. So, nobody can stop you filming children as long as they're in a public place and not "indecent"."

  • Hmm, CPSU stands for Child Protection in Sport Unit. I don't think you really understand what you think you're talking about, however well intentioned you may or may not be. This is not the law relating to filming in public spaces. I also tried to post a link to a site which discusses the law on this subject and it was rejected by youtube, so what follows is an extract from the site.

  • It finally worked! Have a good Christmas!

  • Really well done. Sensitive and interesting bit of documentary filmmaking. Music fits the mood perfectly. Being a filmmaker myself, I find Imc227 comments ill-informed. But then again, I saw that Imc227 is the product code for lawn chair. Singularly appropriate.

  • Well Smile4karma it is so nice to come across yet another "artist" who can not take me on properly and who would rather show themself up by using childish insults. I'm afraid that if you want to play with the big boys you better start studying. Any quick search on the internet will show you I am not ill-informed but in fact know exactly what I am talking about.

  • Not at all, I just obhect to adults breaking the law by filming children whithout their knowledge and displaying it on the internet. You are not an artist. This is not art. Perhaps 5000 people have viewed but less than 20 have commented. This should tell you something about what people think of your art.

  • Firstly you need to get your facts right, it is not against the law to film children, nor to display the film on the internet. There is nothing wrong either morally or legally about this film. Secondly, nowhere do I claim that this is art, or that I am an artist. You have a completely paranoid censorious attitude, and while I respect your right to express your views, I utterly condemn them as those of an unthinking reactionary.

  • I shall try again because I can't be bothered with this anymore and have no intention of coming to your shop, I'll just end up spending too much money! stick the cpsu in to search engine. Good day Sir!

  • I came across a common sense warrior like you at a dance class for my children. Someone who kept quoting "child protection laws". So I did extensive research.

    There is no such thing.

    Could you cite the legislation?

    Could you provide links?

    No, I didn't think so.

  • It's the modern day equivalent of accusing people of witchcraft. All the imbeciles have to do now is cry, 'Pervert!' and then accuse anybody who speaks in defense of the accused of being a pervert too. See, for example, how I was targeted at the end of the last poorly written paragraph.

I still wonder what exactly was supposed to be perverted, I can see nothing even mildly titillating about these images. Perhaps I don't have the correct mindset.

  • I thinkyou will find aoife67 that it was you that first accused me of being the pervert when I raised the issue of secretly videoing children. You are not a very bright individual are you? Perhaps I would think differently if you could see the problem here . . .children being secretly filmed by someone sitting in their car. If it was someone taking pictures I bet you would be worried but because it is on the net you see it as art? You do realise there are laws against children being filmed.

  • I admit that compared to you, with your marvellous grasp of English, your wonderful punctuation, your fluent style and above all, your razor-sharp wit, I don't seen very bright. I think I admire your casual disregard for logic and common sense more than anything else though. I don't agree with you, therefore I'm not bright. Sorry, 'a bright individual'. Whew. I nearly forgot to add that redundancy. It's hard to emulate your brilliance. Educate me, please. What does the law say, exactly?

  • You will find this on the website run by the British Government to inform people about their rights in relation to the law. Provide a clear brief about what is considered appropriate in terms of their behaviour and the content of the photography.

Photographers must carry identification which they must display at all times.

Inform children and parents that a photographer will be present and ensure they consent to filming and/or photography and to its publication.

    cont.

  • Put your money where your mouth is, give details of this website. I know that you're wrong about this, the law is clear, and the waffling generalities you list are NOT the law as it stands.

  • bookshop man I have now tried 4 times to post the web address but youtube will not let me. I'll pop into your shop with the details. As for waffling you will need to take that up with the Government, I don't write laws.

  • There's no legislation, there's not even guidelines. Permission slips are not needed.

  • You couldn't be more wrong.

There is no law against photographing adults or children. No not even fostered or children in care.

  • Do not allow photographers unsupervised access to children or one-to-one photo sessions.

You must obtain permission for the filming/photographs to be taken both from the subjects and their parents/carers.

As for your insults, you are the one that suggested I am a pervert. And as for not being very bright, you are the one who would not mind about their children being filmed and displayed on the internet. If you want to be taken seriously perhaps carry out some research, Are you educated now?

  • Totally, and highly amused. Thank you. It's been fun, like watching a dog chasing its tail or barking furiously and impotently at birds flying overhead. You have a strange and wonderful charm that's all your own. Don't stop commenting, keep fighting the good fight. Bless you.

  • You asked me to explain the law and I did. It doesnt matter if you think filming children in this way is ok, the position of the law is clear. Your attempts at insulting and ridiculing me only go to show how childish and naive you are. I can only hope and prey that your children are never in the position of being filmed in this manner and displayed for the world to see as I am deeply concerned by your statement that you wouldnt give a hoot if someone filmed them. So bless you too aoife67.

  • Interesting, 'prey' and 'children' in the same sentence. A Freudian slip? Thanks for being deeply concerned about my family, but you needn't put yourself to any trouble on their behalf. In the unlikely event that they are ever filmed dressed from head to toe in rain gear and wellies, rendering both their gender and identities a mystery, I'm sure it won't cause them lasting harm. Not even the most desperate deviant could derive any measure of sexual gratification from such images, surely.

  • Amusing though this has been, I must bow out now and leave the last word to whomever wishes to have the pleasure. The entertainment value can't be sustained beyond a few messages. Have a good Christmas and a Happy New Year, one and all.

  • Someone has to worry about your children, clearly you dont. If you did not wish to get into a debate like this then perhaps you should think twice about calling me a pervert. I hope that you never get your eyes opened to the big wide world and that you continue to be a naive innocent. Im sure I have said something you would like to read more into. Happy Christmas to you too, remember to watch out for people filming your kids from inside a car, they are actually breaking the law!

  • Wrong again Imc227. I'm not going to block you from commenting as I suspect that is the kind of behaviour you'd quickly succumb to when anyone disagreed with you, but please accept that you aren't representing anyone's interests with your crusade against common sense. This is a harmless film about kids playing in the rain, and the optimistic innocence it portrays has now been tarnished by your sordid and smutty interpretation of the filming of it. Find something useful to do with your life.

  • I am so sorry aoife67. I didn't realise that any tom, dick or harry was allowed to secretly video children playing. I thought there might be some sort of child protection issue with this but clearly I am wrong. Do you have children? If you do, how would you feel about this guy secretly videoing them without you knowing about it? As for me being a pervert, let me think about it. The person who wants it removed the pervert? The person who made it? The person who sees nothing wrong with it? you?

  • For heaven's sake, would you ever get a grip and stop taking yourself so seriously. I do have children and I wouldn't give a hoot if someone filmed them, fully clad in rain gear, splashing in a puddle. I can't see how it could be considered deviant. Incidentally, a series of rhetorical questions does not constitute an argument. Then again, I suspect argument may not be your strong point. Your logic seems to be: some perverts film children, therefore anyone who films children is a pervert.

  • There's nothing wrong with leaping to unhealthy conclusions. I've decided that Imc stands for I molest children and that the 227 is a sick tally. Disgraceful. He probably trawled youtube looking for 'children' and 'wet clothing' and came across this. I'm completely outraged and blame the government and global warming and anyone foreign.

  • What kind of adult secretly videos children from inside their car. please remove this video as it is inappropriate and the way in which you gained the images is questionable.

  • What the hell are you on about? Over five thousand people have watched this film, and nobody has so far suggested that anything about it was "inappropriate" or "questionable". I think your comments say a lot more about the unhealthy and paranoid state of your mind than they do about my attempt to make a short film.

  • Paranoid? I wonder what the police would have thought if they had caught you creating your "art" in a carpark in the rain? Would they have been paranoid? Would the kids' parents have been paranoid? Do you know these children? I do. Their parents' aren't paranoid they are very very angry! Any normal adult would question the reasons behind someone sitting in a carpark videoing children. Did you not think about it when you were making your art? How many other short films with children have you made

  • If you think that by putting "art" in inverted commas you're cleverly implying that there's something sinister about this film then you're sadly mistaken. It's just some kids trying to entertain themselves by goading cars into soaking them by driving quickly through puddles in the rain. If you seriously think the police, or anyone else will take your ridiculous allegations that there is something untoward about this film seriously then I suggest you tell them, they'll laugh in your face.
