they already fucked up the orange stinger by putting it that one ride.. nd took off the sun from the "sun wheel".. what more damage can they make ?!?! >:|
@conversefunk What?? Orange Stinger was bad. YOu couldnt see anything. Symphony Swings is beautifully done, with its own viewing area AND you can see the entire area while you ride. Its well done and I ride it a lot now. The new DCA will be great!
Okay I have no clue wether I should be crying or grinning. Why in heavens name would they want to rebuild half DISNEYLAND, The Happiest Place on Earth. I think it fine the way it is. Yes adding new rides would be awesome, but changing so much i think is wrong. I love Disney the way it is. <3
in 2012, California is getting a high speed Train under construction which will go from San Fransisco to San Diego traveling 220 MPH and eventially will come here to Anaheim, so you can travel to Disneyland from whare ever in California you live in 30 years from now.
Well, think about it from this perspective: What kind of theme is "California"? It's not much of a good theme because frankly you can take any idea and make it "California". Disneyland on the other hand has very clear cut themes running through it like "the future" and "the old west" among others. The upgraded DCA is still going to suffer a bit from a nebulous "California" theme, but hopefully it will increase attendance.
i like the changes coming but i think the whole "we want it to be like walt wanted it " it wasnt intended to be walts park anyway it was just going to show off california you know what im saying but dont get me wrong i cant wait for cars land or the changes to come and the 20's themes
I can not believe that greed was the problem within Disney executives. WestCot looks way better than DCA. Although he improvements appear to be going along nicely and I can't wait to see if the changes will help bring in more revenue or will become a flop.
@Ryan120420 Honestly and truly: I'm happy that DCA was built instead. I would've wanted something entirely original instead of a clone. However, if DCA looked like it will after the expansion when it first open, the park would've been a huge success.
This was incredible. I loved the models that Disney made. I really hope that they bring back the Country Bear Jamboree in the new California Adventure. Does anyone know if that's going to happen or if that's just a lie.
WDI did look into putting Country Bear Jamboree into Grizzly Peak Mountain at DCA. But due to the awesome planning team that designed DCA they did not engineer the structure to house a future attraction. So WDI has abandoned that plan.
i agree. its not like they are taking out the best rides... the maliboomer wasn't that big of a deal... and they are putting a replacement in which will be just as good.. if not better. and they are adding some great rides/shows.
oh ok. I was kinda hoping though they would extend it. or maybe add in another coaster (disney doesnt need them I know, but I would certainly like to see more thrilling attractions like California Screamin).
Why are they going with the Victorian Architecture though? I hope it still would have the look and feel of an old seaside amusement park on a pier.
Because they are going for a Victorian era time-period look for the Pier. They DO want Paradise Pier to celebrate the romance and the charm of the old seaside amusement parks, but they want to lose the contemporary look.
Which means that you can say goodbye to the entrance sign, cheesy boardwalk stores, and probably a few other things that make Paradise Pier unattractive. I can't wait to see more Victorian architecture used throughout the pier. It'll look quite similar to Midway Mania's.
Cant believe they took out maliboomer for jelly jumpers... :( RIP Maliboomer, but the rest looks good, I wonder if they're gonna take the tunnels off cali screamin
thanks for making this video, gives me a better understanding of what the park is going to look like. I am so mad that they are taking out the Maliboomer. :( Youd think theyd just re-theme it,....ugh

Go to google and type in WestCot Theme Park.
That is what was suppose to come to the Disneyland Resort instead of DCA.
You can thank Paul Pressler, Michael Eisner, Cynthia Harris, and Barry Braverman for DCA instead of Westcot.
Imagineers never wanted DCA, it was forced onto them.
Right now they are trying to fix something that never should have been built.
That being said, I cant wait for the improvements to be done.

Why did they take the mouse ears off California Screamin It's an icon of that park as it's featured in every video shot at DCA isn't it?
woodencoasterfan 3 years ago
Because they are re themeing the entire pier to the Victorian era. And the contemporary mouse ears would clash with the Victorian architecture.

No, they are just enclosing the queue, station, and track leading to the launch area.

Atem122 3 years ago
Thats not Jumping Jelly Fish.
Its suppose to be a new version of the parachute drop ride that was at Knotts.
Unfortunately the ride will NOT be apart of the DCA expansion.
Remember the model is only a concept not the final product.
Ryan120420 3 years ago
Oh really? well I still wish they kept the Maliboomer, or hopefully six flags can buy it off of them, they need a drop tower
Atem122 3 years ago
DCA is going to look so good once the refurbishments are done.
Though, I am not a fan of them taking down the Mickey ears on California Screamin's loop.
