If you want to use the builtin GPS in the i617 you can go via the free GPS program GPSVP and start up the GPS with GPSTEST (you can close GPSTEST once the GPS is locked on and working)
you can download maps through openstreetmap but then you have to turn them into tiles and name them. This is practically impossible for newbies. You really have to know what you are doing.
Garmin XT, at about $100 is probably worth the time and effort.
When I play videos on my BlackJack 2 Midea player, it plays very slow. I mean the sound is fine but the Video is very slow. I was wondering if any you guys know how to fix this problem? Thank you
if you download that program they have maps of europe, canada, asia just download the right maps to where you live and when you do use the gps with thos programs you wont get charged by your service provider just dont use to find like hotels movies stuff like that.
Very nice video. On my website you can online text for free it for anyone to use. You can send mulitple text messages in one click. Just see my profile to access the website. Nice video.
Hey guys, just got my Blackjack 2 today, but i've gone all through my phone, read the instruction manual and even gone to the samsung website, but i cant seem to find the GPS on my phone. i was hoping that someone could please help me with this, cheers
Mine always says within 1500ft of location. The GPS does not really pin point were I am. Can you post a video about your GPS settings and google settings?
google maps uses data..so you must have a data plan to use it...its worth it i love it...the only thing is that gps takes like 2-3 mins..kinda sucks when you drive a stick
Heres the deal with the blackjack II, the internal gps is very good..now there is a program in the windows directory called gpstest, you should put it on your start menu and use it for very fast acquisition of your location, after you get the satelites showing up, you can use google maps, windows live search, telenav, garmin XT, with the default settings. This video is nice cause he shows how nice the google maps is in how accurate it is. I may post some videos of the blackjack II
y'know... I've looked... and I can't seem to locate "GPStest" anywhere... not the windows folder or otherwise... I mean... I still got it to work with googlemaps and stuch... but still...
Telenav is the provider built in on the blackjack or other AT&T phones like the Tilt, Telenav is the provider AT&T has an agreement with for $9.99 monthly unlimited trips of $5.99 (10 trips) BUT since the blackjack has built in GPS antenna you can use Google Maps Free, last version allows you to use your built in GPS. and Free. but Televan speaks, Google Maps does not. anyway both application are awesome.

that usually means that you're not really using the GPS, but cell tower triangulation, instead... usually.

F20CPWR 3 years ago
You sure will, that all uses a data connection and w/o a data plan you're going to be charged a pretty penny for that privilege.

seanthao 4 years ago
it only costs you to connect to the internet for the maps, so if you lready have a dataplan, then you are set.
aparker1981 4 years ago
thats awesome
