  • Thanks for the memories, ex-Lancer and proud of it. 1980 was the closest we got, but 75 was when we should have won DCI....

  • The color guard at the opening of this show is unbelievable. I wish I could have been a tenth as good as this when I was a flag. Love this show. Thanks for posting it.

  • I love these old shows from all the junior corps,,, thank you to all who participated, you all have entertained me and millions of others

  • Contra flip @ 00:43. note marching timps and keyboards. almost no drill in 2nd production, but plenty of visuals and solos/solis of all types. STILL ... more asymmetrical mvmt than any band ive seen ... and so clean!! see line rotation @ 12:00. omfg. Second place - Big 27. ;)

  • one year their guard got a perfect score...might have been this year. the corps got to perform at the Lake Placid Olympics in the same year I believe. the open spot where the missing rifle is kinda bothers me, but otherwise it's A++

  • MARCHING MALLETS! makes me proud to march the glockenspiel<3

  • I just looked it up they won their caption in 1980 so i guess they were well thought of.

  • I love the 27th color guard. Also how can a corp this good and entertaining fold.

  • This is by far the very best of the best old school field shows I loved the 27th how ever did the new edit the picture and sound is awesome thank you so very much for putting this video back on I love it

  • Yes, everything marched back then. It wasn't until 1981 that corps began to place instruments like timpani and mallets stationary on the field.

  • @paulgray1972 - WRONG!! In 1980, the Troopers placed their mallet instruments stationary. However, they continued to march tympani. Also in 1980, the Blue Devils used concert tympani instead of marching tympani, but they continued to march the mallets. Just FYI.

  • Is that a marching timpani that I see?
