It's difficult to digest depending on your previous beliefs. If your religious then yeah it would be tough to hear but for someone who is on the fence about everything, it could be an eye opener. For me, it was a breath of fresh air and easier to comprehend than God. Not to say I fully grasp the concept of existentialism and it's philosophical cousins but I get the ideas behind it :P
Ok i've watched and watched, are you putting the needle through both ends on the bottom of the stitches or just through one because when i put it through both and continued the pattern and i pull away the stitch comes out as if I did nothing. What am I doing wrong? Your video is the best way I have learned how to knit thus far.
@emlovesbeauty I think about that kind of stuff all the time. Like... who figured out you could curl hair with a flat iron? Or who figured out how to make friendship bracelets?
@BloodyTeardropRose I believe the whole sentence was just one big mistake. Your Grammar, is the same level a First Grader would have. Its "That means you're dumb, i have never seen a knitting.. etc" You can't spell and obviously you can't see. Its not detailed Enough. So Goodbye... 5 year old.
Sorry for that, I was ment to reply to someone who said that it is not detailed enough but I made a mistake. I was in a hurry writting this and then when I realised that I simply commented instead of replying I tried to delete the comment but I didn't know how so I just left it like that. This video was actually really helpful and I loved it. Sorry again, really sorry.
Everyone who is giving up.. just keep at it, you wont start out good at it and if you do then good for you lol... but dont give up just keep repeating what your doing learn one stitch at a time and dont try to do fancy stuff at first ... and it wont start to look good until you have ten or more rows and youll find you niche and your own way to do it and it gets so easy and actually fun
I can cast like no one's business, but when it comes to transferring it over to the second stitch, i can't get it! I can wrap the yarn around the back and between, but pulling the stitch is where everything goes awry... great video though!
I realise this video is almost three years old, but thanks so much! I'm 25, and have never knit a day in my life, but I want to start so I can add a more diverse product range to my etsy store. This video, is great, most of the others are simply video tutorials and have no dialog. I'm more of a visual learner, but I need to listen as I watch or else I can't absorb the information properly. Thanks so much!
every time i knit their are always stiches that add on so instead od 10 1 had 15 then 20 and now 23 any idea why cause i watched the video again and i amm doing fine
thank you thank you..thank you so much ... super video. im doing it for the first time. i made a beautiful square .. best video ive ever seen based on knitting..
@1975ccoleman no, but it does matter in how loose you want the loops, the bigger/wider the needle the loopy it will be , say for a net or mesh. if you use slimmer needle then tighter it would be , and would be used for socks.
I got it now!! Thank u soo much my aunt is going to hav a baby soon so I'm tryin to make a scarf and now I can I didn't think I can do it bcuz I'm only 12
I don't understand where the loop comes from. I wrapped the string around and then I try to "catch" the loop, but I don't know what loop it is talking about!!
i love this video!!!! i learned how to knit the day before, but i had trouble, but know im making things for everyone in the family. i even made my own store. just for my family!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!
hi can you teach me how to do brioche stitch. i think i look the whole of you tube.. but for some reason every one is not talking in the video telling you what to do... PLEASE.
i could not knit... and your video made me understand the stitches.. and how to knit...thanks you soooooo much...
One problem that I have encountered is: once I have 'casted on' and it's time to transfer to the 2nd needle, sometimes I have a gap of yarn between the needles. Meaning, stitches are on one needle and as I am transferring, I have maybe 4 inches of yarn in between. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
thx sooooooooooooooo much i just got my yarn and knitting needles last night and this helped me alot soo............................ THANK YOU!!!!!!!
This is a god send. Im just learning how to knit and had no clue how to start. The books and other videos that I watched made it look complicated but this didn't. I love it Thanks for putting it on
Now can you make a video to show how to even tie the knot and start it off 4 the 1str needle , If you one already . . . . What is the title of it and where can it be found ? ? ? ? ?
@BeautyRush1231 Okay! Making the slip knot is really easy! All you do is wrap your string around your middle finger and your index finger, okay? Then take the 'top piece of yarn' and pull it to the bottom, do that one more time and then take the top one and slip it off your fingers and pull the loop. I think it is pretty easy. If you don't like that, just make a knot on your needle.
@355kitty - It's hard to say without looking at it, but remember the part in this video where she said to be careful to keep the yarn in front of your work when switching needles, instead of in back? It may be that that's how you picked up some extra stitches. I'm not sure how to fix it. You may have to find a real-life knitter for help on that. Good luck!
@Kiddolioable - It really is tough at first, contrary to what she tells you in this video. Make sure that your yarn is smooth and straight. If you've been working with the same length of yarn over and over (and pulling it out to start over) it may be coming unraveled and is twisting. Also, make sure that you are working with big enough needles in the beginning; this can make a difference, too. Try to keep the yarn loose as you work, too. And finally, be patient with yourself. You'll get it!
i learned knitting a loooong time ago... but i learned that the first stitch you don't knit, you just move it unto the needle, otherwise it expands on the sides (which it really did). you do knit the first one. please explain?
Fantastic video! Can't believe anyone had any trouble with this. I've never touched a knitting needle in my life, this video happened to be the first one I stumbled on, lucky for me. :) Never imagined knitting could be so simple. Thanks so much for posting!!!
