I love Pride and Prejudice, especially the A&E production. I watched this on netflix last month and I loved it as well. We all image what it would be like to suddenly appear in our favorite book or time period. Very well done.

@IndieRetro1998 Yep---Wikem is definitely hotter. Handsomer, more appealing...but he's "hot" just like global warming is hot! He's DANGEROUS, a spendthrift, and treats women like dirt! Give me Mr. Darcy any day! Prince Rainier wasn't handsome...but GORGEOUS Grace Kelly loved him...with good reason! He was kind, empathetic, and a good father! So was Darcy, I daresay!

Sure, the original Pride and Prejudice was awesome, but you cannot disregard the integrity of this completely separate work because of that. It seems to have been created with the image in mind of every Jane Austen fan who has dreamt of living in her world! It does not set out to ruin the original. In fact it almost pushes viewers to read the original, as it is clear that you cannot fully enjoy this show without having a deep understanding of and appreciation for the novel.

What the hells wrong with the original that it need adapting?!?!?! The book is a classic, witty and easy to read even for young people today and the BBC mini series is too awesome for words so I will say no more other than you are wrong! :)

@bolt0051 The dream of every lover of every book is to somehow get within and inside that book, one's self! This series delightfully does it for P&P! (See the Star Trek episode: Tomorrow is Yesterday). P&P is a wonderful book...this series does but to augment it! : )
