  • I went to st pete....i had the baluga and the honest truth?....it wasnt worth it....far too expensive and unbelievably dissapointing....

  • i like the egg in an egg thing.. i usually make deviledeggs . the kitchen is just an endless worldd..

  • How is this video bizzare? It looks delicious! :P

  • @cheacky15 For the middle class american, everything what doesn't look like french fries, burgers, pizzas, steak or chips it is bizarre^^

  • I love caviar, but caviar on our table is not a frequent visitor, as the caviar of salmon. It is quite expensive and there are doubts about the freshness of the product if you buy in a city store. If you want to eat the freshest caviar, go fishing! And do not forget to bring with you a bottle of cold SWEET champagne and sweet girls;)))

  • I love Russian ....

  • The utensils could be sliver people...

  • Guys, never eat caviar with metal utensils; it modifies the flavour.

  • russian food is the best, why is it called bizzarre foods its the best russian caviar

  • @TheLeohaupt - Russian food is NOT the best by ANY stretch of the imagination. It is VERY simple, mostly VERY cheap, and usually POORLY prepared because there hasn't been ANY food culture in Russia (except among the aristocracy) EVER. By the way, I've lived in Russia for several years now as the executive chef of a large restaurant that is trying to bring fine dining to Russians - truly an uphill battle, as all they want is "extremely well done" steaks and cheap sausage.

  • @MrPlanx I would not say that there is such thing as "best food". It is up to a person to decide what they like best.

As for me, being Russian, I would prefer Russian food, but I also enjoy tasting other cuisines from time to time.

  • @KostjaMRH - If you prefer Russian food, then you like bland, overcooked and things slathered with fat (butter, mayonnaise, and sour cream). I've been in Saint Petersburg for many years now, as I said. Things are now finally changing slowly, but only for younger people. Old Russians still want their cheap sausage and plain meat that's burnt black.

  • @MrPlanx I can surely say that my mom's cooking is not bland, overcooked, not fatty at all and never burnt black. You are completely wrong.

Maybe you have been eating the wrong food for all these years, mate.

  • @KostjaMRH - I am speaking in terms of the average Russian. I've been the head chef at three restaurants here. I think I know what I'm talking about. Your mother may be an exceptional cook, but that has nothing to do with the average Russian.

  • @MrPlanx It is still wrong to generalise it like that. An average pizza in the world is quite bad (because a lot of them are take-aways), but that does not make pizza bad in general. :)

  • 100% homo

  • I find this extremely annoying.

  • it's so annoying to watch a video when the video and audio are out of sync.

  • makes no sence all you do get the eggs sell them fresh how much fresher can u make it ?

  • what is so bizarre about caviar??? and it is blini!! in russia we eat caviar for a breacfast with bread and butter every day.

  • In Soviet Russia, Andrew eats caviar. :(

  • In Soviet Russia, Food eats YOU

  • @Ograws

  • @RomanZzzzzzzzz for whatever reason people say that on the internet is makes comments popular but not mine :(

  • so hungry

  • umm i want some cavier and im russian

  • i wanna see him choke shit himself and die with a blue face and bloated pink belly while his toes twinkle

  • Bleeny?? Old Russian folk call then blini, the first i as in ick and last I has an e sound. Bleeny lol that's weird

  • In Soviet Russia, CAVIAR loves YOU!

  • im from kazakhstan, i remember in the early 90's when i was a little kid my uncle had a whole freaking jar of osetra caviar... he used to eat that shit with a tablespoon. or chuck thick layers of it onto bread and butter and munch it down.

i tasted it and i thought it was gross, but i was like a 5 or 6 year old kid.

now im 24 and i genuinely want to try that stuff because i am a bit of a food connoisseur, but i cant fucking afford it now, like $100 for a little can. FML i want caviar now!!!!

  • Id like to visit russia but I'm afraid of skin heads.

  • @skiie - Unless you are overtly gay and black, you don't have anything to worry about.

  • enjoy but don't forget that 85% of russians will never taste food like that ever

  • my main language - German)))) but at least I'm trying to learn languages))) stupid and fat Americans: DDD

  • Comment removed

  • he is a jew.....MEL GIBSON and i hate jews.

  • @darrylhaynes Someone should have told Mel not to marry a Russian, They're a whole lot dumber but just as shifty.

  • @Aeschlimann1 и это говорит американец хахахахахаха. у вас если человек не тупой то он fat. у вас все учёные иностранцы. так что молчи.

  • i was staying in that hotel , really tasteless , no style whatsoever, food is ugly as well

sorry guys its not a paris

and the city is dusty and ugly, dont have further desire to visit russia ...

  • I don't know why it's been handled with stainless steel which can tarnish the taste apparently.

  • do they kill the fish every time they take the eggs or do they let it lay the eggs?because killing it would be bad if it is a engendered specie.

  • @kxr225522 err they cut it open with a knife and take out the roe, i dont think the fish is gonna swim after that

  • @UserUnknown77 give me a good steak any day. keep your fish eggs for yourself =)

  • I thought using a metal spoon for caviar was a culinary no no??

  • I can eat caviar out of the jar with a spoon. Its delicious, and has nothing to do with being fancy. Even better spread it on buttered borodinsky bread. Heaven.

  • @Snezhinka9 What does it taste like? I have always wanted to try it.

  • @RyanLikesAmp - salty, but also kind of creamy...its not possible to really describe the taste with words. The best answer is that it tastes like caviar. Lol. If you want the best, youve got to try Beluga caviar. Its the most expensive but it tastes awesome.

  • @RyanLikesAmp I've had cheap caviar... tastes like... salt. But like I said...it was cheap.

  • viva russia

  • Fuck caviar.. it taste like shit .. people just want to be fancy..

  • @TheSulayma I like caviar, its on sushi too :l

  • @TheSulayma sour-grape? I bet u tasted a 3 dollars a can american 'caviar'

  • @TheSulayma LOL. its nice. shut ur crap. we dont need to know

  • @JohnnyEatsNoobs I see your shitty comments all over the place. What actually you mean by " caviar eats you"

  • costs like 4 grand for a plate of fish eggs :O

  • this may be the first thing he's eaten that i would actually want to try. usually he eats repulsive shit.

too bad beluga sturgeon and bluefin tuna are both critically endangered :(

  • Пля, чуть не захлебнулся, пойду пару бутеров с икоркой наe6ну))

  • @IIIIMARLONIIII Да! Хорошо если икра под боком есть. Я поийду хотя бы с калбасой наверну. Есть что то захотелось))

  • i Love caviar to, but the most i Love is the russian people. greetings from manila.

  • is there BOEUF STROGONOW?

  • Caviar tastes like complete shit. When people brag about it, its because they basically had a pamperd life, or if they didnt, they lie. The only thing good about caviar is that it could be thrown out! Canned tuna should be priced higher!

  • @zombieman82091 Oh man I am really sorry for you. You are probably throwing food away all you life that is why you've become a zombie )))

  • i love foreign food, but i can't stand this guy

  • Ive had the lucky experiance of trying black or rather GREEN caviar with the tiny eggs once in my life :(, but the orange caviar is delisssh! I MISS IT SO MUCH

  • @Smellycats4eva LOL COOL STORY

  • Why the hell was he using METAL utensils to eat that caviar? More importantly, why were they SERVING it with metal?

You use bone, wood, or mother of pearly to serve and eat caviar, NOTHING else.

Metal reacts with the eggs, and changes the flavor.

  • @circutracer150 That's exactly what I was thinking.

  • @circutracer150 oh wow you learn something new everyday. Great tip!

  • hello boys?

  • i love russian soups

  • ....... I want some right now... Caviar=The pinnacle of excellent food.

  • Maybe I'm weird.. but I cannot stand the taste of caviar... Being Japanse, I've been brought up on alot of raw fishy parts passed off as food, but for me all fish eggs make me gag.

  • I got my first chance at good quality Russian caviar...it was soooo good!!

  • Travel Channel

  • how is caviar bizzare ? It's baby fish ),

  • black caviar is an acquired taste. I've been eating it through all my childhood before it became outrageously expensive, and I absolutely adore it - but would never eat it like this guy - piece of fresh bread and butter with a thin layer of caviar - the combination is to die for :))

  • я люблю Россию очень очень!!!!

  • @blinkRush182 да тыж караед, поди живешь гденибудь в Тель-авиве. почу утя аккаунт заблокирован?

  • @blinkRush182 Hello, I'm learning Russian and I translated your comment as "I love Russia very much." Was I close?

  • @Imnothecrazyone Yes, you're right. Good job!

  • @mynameisnterin So ochyen can mean very, and much depending on how you use them?

  • @Imnothecrazyone Yes. Because much and very are just different versions of one another.

  • Actually killing sturgeon for caviar is forbidden in Russia. That means black caviar is illegal)

  • @denalihedgehog They get it from Astrakhan...

  • venice of the noth,

    i have heard that thats:

    st petersburg,

    amsterdam,

    stockholm,

    and so on...

  • I wonder if the beef stroganoff is really as good as as he says. Russian food looks interesting. it doesn't look very spicy though. most European food isn't.

  • @wes2469 Everything tastes good to him, lol

  • Actually, even though black caviar is very rare and expensive, I would say red caviar is tastier :)

  • Bizarre food and Bizarre world is my favorite travel show. Andrew seems very down to earth and of course open minded to bizarre food and culture.

  • ooooooooooooohhhh i want that right now

    i love it all

  • caviar one the bizarre foods i would actually eat. thanks so much 4 downloading.

  • onagi is better

  • I used to live there :(

  • It doesn't matter what it is, I eat caviar because it tastes good. What makes fish eggs grosser than chicken eggs?

  • Russian do not eat caviar, Unas it is not enough money.

  • @MrWOWlover101

Caviar has been regarded as one of the most appreciated delicacy through the centuries. It is nowadays even more special because of it's rareness. There are different kind of caviar from different sturgeon varieties almost in every continent of the world. The market price for those we serve is extremely high. This is a matter of taste and likings, most of our customers find that rare delicacy worth tasting and they are more than willing to pay for that gastronomical experience.

  • @ghespb yeah well those customers are kind of dumb aren't they if it's that gross.

  • @ghespb I'd say caviar tastes O.K, but it's definitely not worth high market prize.

  • @ghespb

It maybe considered rare because the Fisher Man's are raping the oceans of entire species of fish.Fish can not reproduce by the thousands as fast as we catch them by the thousands.Keep in mind that Fish need other Fish for their food supply. When Wales and other species of Fish are found washed a shore onto the sands of beaches it's because they have starved to death do to the shortage of Fish in the ocean.

  • @ESSENCEOFEACHTHING

In Soviet Russia, fish rape you!

  • It's not all the same the more expensive it is the better tasting it is annd the less salty it is. I love it.

  • @MrWOWlover101 tatally agree with you

  • would love to see the whole episode of Russia on Bizarre Foods soon.

  • I love Andrew Zimmerman =-D I appreciate the things he eats around the world to make us more keen to try so many of the things he eats when he is out on any trip. I thought personal that the bear looked really good and the caviar =-D And hope someday to visit a beautiful country like a Russia.

  • yummmmmm...wish i had more money

  • Can't help but notice that A.Z. bore a resemblence to Krusczhev.

  • Old mate is a prick can't stand the cunt. Looks a good spot...Good grub

  • that dude andrew is always hungry

  • I will say that he did a better job than Anthony Bourdain did in Saint Petersburg. Also, the city is in the midst of a culinary change that is just starting to surface. Things are changing very rapidly these days.

  • @MrPlanx yea bizzare foods is awsome anthony bourdain is boring as hell i hope his show gets cancled

  • I can't say Bourdain is always boring, but he is extremely self-indulgent. WHEN he's good, he's very good, but that's only about 5% of the time. Both Bourdain and Zimmern's research assistants didn't do a good job at seeking out what is really interesting in Saint Petersburg. There are some amazing things, but they change FAST, so you have to interface with local experts - and that means starting at an expat bar to talk to local residents. Bourdain got his info from his wife, from what I heard.

  • lol at 0:46 that guy behind him is all smiley. :D That's a pretty snazzy hotel.

  • im russian and i LOVE caviar

  • @rawrr124 i think i once tried caviar, but dont remember taste so i think i wasnt nothing special for me
