  • Helped really a lot. Thanks!

  • I can't seem to stretch my video overlay all the way. It leaves a border. weird

  • i didnt use avitricks in a long time, but maybe the image aspect ratio of the videos and overlays you are mixing together have to be the same ( ex:640x480 320x240 ) the freeware i use the most for basic avi operations ( ex: cropping ) is virtualdub..org -- there's very few operations you need to learn : File/open video file, Video/Filters/Add/Null transform then you can crop the video , Video/Compression to chose the video codec to make the output video a reasonable size. then SaveAs Avi

  • wow, you're my hero and thanks for the tips. I should have my abomination of a video up soon. take care mcasual

  • I downloaded the free version; I'm going to look at the full version now. I'm new at editing videos, and the AVS that I bought is all but useless. It will do so much that I can't get it to do much of anything. Its 'Help' is one of the worst examples of "You can use X to do Y." that I've seen. We need a walk through that will tell us how to open X and what to do to it so that Y results.

Even with the relatively simple Avitricks, this video is more help than the entire help file. Wm

  • When I try to load a video, my video appears in the tree structure and as a still, but there is no orange bar at all, there's no play button, I can't edit a thing. Any idea how come?

  • avitricks works only with AVI files, so maybe you attempted to AddVideo-Video something that wasn't an AVI? - or the codec used to compress the file is the problem, in a case like this you may want to re-compress the video, if you google it, there's virtualdub which is free and is really good for basic operations on avi files, and there's a "video/compression" menu where you can set the codec used to save the file. there's a very good codec at divx..com, get the free one

  • Finally! I comprehensive piece of video editing freeware which is compatible with Vista! The tutorial shown here is a wonderful bonus! Thank you, Bobyte!

  • Super Application.

  • Very helpful! Many thanks!

  • ok can u put an mp3 in there for backround music

  • last year's version only accepted WAV files - to convert mp3s into wav i use winamp, one of the output plugins you can select is called diskwriter, it outputs to wav instead of to the speakers, and its really fast, a few seconds for a song.

  • yo!you got same computer as my!!i got windows 2000!

  • Whenever I upload a video and press play, the video doesn't show.

    Help?

  • the 4 videos on your account work for me

    - youtube accepts the most common video formats, avi, mpg, wmv, mov

  • crash but great...thanks jacques

  • Whenever I try to change the font or color, the subtitle disappears entirely. Any help?

  • Actually I figured that out, but the newest problem is that exporting my file crashes the program. In fact, lots of things crash it. With lots of different errors.

  • Great! Thanks a lot!
