the fact is that these transistors are getting as small as an atom, which is the ultimate limit of Moore's Law. if things go on this way, I really dont know what we're headed to in the computer mrkt
@comneard55 Well. It being 22 nm and having a 3 sided stream allows it to be more energy efficient which in-turn would also mean that it would run cooler and allow for more headroom in clock rates.
if you have the cash, yes. it will be like 20% stronger than sandy bridge, besides having more cores and being more cooling and energy efficient. but dont even think about using its integrated graphics chip, it will still suck as all integrated chips do, did and will do FOREVER. buy this proc, a good asus mobo and a NEW gpu series from AMD or NVIDIA (choose the one you preffer, dont want to start a fanboy war here) and play whatever you want on ultra.
@points2shopPROOF Probly not. I'v heard ALMOST NOTHING about introducing DDR4 sticks. And you'd figure you would hear something from at least one manufacturer considering how may there are. I think the markets focusing on higher speed DDR3 and greater capacity(ex:new 8gig sticks). I'd say DDR4 is a ways off.
Who Caresss if this is in 240P grow up!! Intel i love you u guys are doing amazing job!

Will ivy bridge benefit for a gaming computer?

It will likely be a great over-clocker.
