  • How do you download this? Someone whos done it successfully please tell me or the uploader of this video

  • Also great video! Finding videos like this make me try out things like this

  • I just did this and made mine look like honeycomb. For $160 plus tax I have a very functional tablet. I use it for netflix and plenty of games. I'm sure at some point I will use it for something work related. Great deal

  • I've gotta say, it's so refreshing to see such a well-made demo video for homebrew stuff. Great video!

  • Today I bought a nook color with a purple flip case and charger, then bought a 16GB msd. Win

  • @owlman113 Nice! I actually gave my Nook Color to my fiancee when I upgraded to my HP Touchpad 32GB. I'm running Cyanogenmod 9 Alpha 0.5 on it now.

  • @Synssins Cool, I am waiting on a stable release for CM9 on nookcolor, b4 I upgrade to that

  • what do you do if it is stuck in a boot cycle after the battery dies

  • what camera do you use to capture the video? good quality since others capture the flickers on the nook color

  • @ricwurui Sony CX-110 1080p Camcorder. :)

  • sorry do you knwo if this will also read amazon kindle books as well once its been hacked? Thanks sorry for the noob q's!

  • That's awesome. I really wanted an ipad but cant really afford to shell out 500 + for one, how do you like the set up you have with Cyanogenmod 7 for web surfing? Thats all i want to do really, leave it on the coffee table and sruf and read a few books? good vid thanks i never even thought about hacking a nook color...

  • @3wmaccess It works fantastic. :) I loved it. Gave it to my fiancee, and she uses it now.

  • always seems a bit laggy..maybe cause it's not official to run Android on this device compared to the stock Nook OS?

  • @jrcrow79 The stock Nook OS IS Android, actually. Froyo in fact.

We are still running Android, only making the Nook Color do more than Barnes and Noble originally intended.

It works, and can lag once in a while... But runs great 99% of the time.

  • I bought the flip case for my Nook Tablet because of this video. Now I want the small microfiber cleaning rag. Where'd you get it?

  • @nirvgorilla It came with the flip case. :) I store mine underneath the Nook color between the case and the Nook.

  • @nirvgorilla You can get the microfibre cloths at camera stores.

  • @nirvgorilla My Nook Color came with it's own cleaning rag. Did your's not?

  • "Battery life leaves a little bit to be desired..." How long is it, and how long will it hopefully be in the future?

  • @VictoryOTP

Battery life issues have been resolved.

I get two or three days solid of reading eBooks via the Nook Android app or the Amazon Kindle app. The newer versions of Cyanogenmod resolved the battery issues.

  • Seconds are all the same length its just a matter of ammounts of them

  • ive heard some things like market and wifi and other connectivity features dont work correctly, but it seems they do on your nook. Is that just the ROM release or did you have to do something special?

  • So if I put the software on my nook can I get all free Android apps?

  • Also, can I still use it as a nook? Like can I still read all of my books that I have on the nook now?

  • Hi all, while installing the cyanogen mod, i had accidentally formatted the boot once, but subsequently repeated the installation process and was able to install the cyanogen 7.2. But when I switched off the system and tried to switch it back on, it's not switching on....i even tried installing the nook software1.0.1 back on it, but to no avail! Now, the screen comes on only when installed with a sd card having the clockwork recovery software. Please help me!! My nook's practically dead now!

  • cyanogenmod changed this lame book-reading tablet into a pretty decent and fast tablet - good work there!

  • Hello! I have a problem.... >.> i cant access my normal nook cool menu. i tried powering it off and then on but it goes to the ROID. >.>

Please help me restore all of my books!!!

    CM7

  • Is it honeycomb or gingerbread or what?

  • nice video. quick question i have cm7 on my nook color but i cant find the android market.. any suggestion how i caan get the android market on it ?

  • very clear and concise vid. thanks!

  • how did you backup the apps when you updated CM7? i have manual nooter with apps and want to back those up so i can root CM7.

  • nice video! just a few questions :)

-are android market and gapps the same? and are they included in this build?

-do you have a tutorial available?

  • Comment removed

  • Does it have bluetooth keyboard support? What do you think of this vs. using the Honeycomb build?

  • would you recommend installing this software

  • Can you just install the downloads on the sd card so all or your original downloads could stay on the nc

  • When you first boot the nook color up and clockmod recovery was on did you just reboot and the system started up..? Did you root it is it like where the sd card has all of the files that you download on it? If the sd card does wouldnt you just be able to take the sd card out and it would go back to the way it started, stock?

  • @SuperFranko29 Yes. Cynaogenmod is installed on the EMMC (Internal Memory).

The Nook Color supports booting from the SDCard first. So if a bootable card is installed, it will be the primary boot device. I have nothing stock left on my Nook Color. I can boot into Cyanogenmod with or without the SDCard inserted.

  • Would you recommend a cyanogenMod 7 or a honeycomb for a nook? Unsure of which to use

  • Danny McBride?

  • Hi, can you comment on the battery life of the Nook Color? More specifically during heavy use? Thanks.

  • That explains it, because my Nexus one gives me really crappy video. I got myself a Nook, waiting for it to be delivered...

What would you say the performance is like? I saw the app launcher stuttering a bit... Is it comparable to a recent android phone?

  • @inoam123 Performance is actually quite nice.. The stuttering in the app launcher can be caused by the CPU governor..

The particular nightly that I am running isn't the fastest one I have had on here.

I was forced to do a reinstall from scratch due to one of the nightly builds causing some issues with my Wireless.

When Cyanogenmod 7 is final and stable, the performance will be very solid.

  • Nice video. Thanks! What camera did you use?

  • @inoam123 HDR-CX110 Sony 1080p Camcorder.

  • @Synssins i have the cx-100. the difference is the cx110 plays better at night. it's smaller than mine to. and the cx100 has 8gb built in and then support for a sony memory stick.

  • @wwjoshdew Yeah. I like my CX-110.. Finding filters/lenses for it is a pain though.

I run a 32 gig Class 10 SD card in it for my video feeds. I may be using it this weekend for a car fun-run to the Leinenkugel's brewery in Chippewa Falls, WI with the car club.. If I can get a polarizer, it should make for a nice video.
