  • Can't wait until mine's delivered! Coming soon!

  • amazing sound, bro. Congratulations. Hey, ain't the 714ce a cedar top guitar? The top looks quite pale (still beautiful) , like spruce, while it should look redish instead.

  • @Skicolorado75 Ok, thanks for the info and congratulations for your guitar. It's amazing !!!

  • @Skicolorado75 Wooow.... Increible sound !!!. It's normal record the audio right mic and left pickup on board? Many thanks....my future guitar it's 714ce sure !!!

  • @sakuarius102 Thanks, I just did the hard pan so people that were interested could compare the mic sound versus the pickup sound. On a normal recording I like to use three mics and blend them in from left right and center for the best sound.

  • Beautiful sound!

  • @spoonylove Thanks, you thinking about getting a Taylor?

  • awesome guitar! hope to get one soon! what kind of les paul is that in the back?

  • @mhidalgo1996 Thanks, you'll have to post a video so I can check it out, I'm still very happy with the sound of this guitar, and recording an album using this accoustic for leads. The guitar in the back is a '92 epi, I'd like to replace it with the real thing soon, but it sounds good none the less.

  • What's the different on quality, woods

  • Thanks for checking out my review on the 814ce. Wow, the 714ce sounds deeper than I thought! Nice playing too!

  • @76dragoon Thanks a lot! I noticed a lot more bass from the expression system than the mic, but the trebbles were clearer with the mic (mic'd at the 12th fret). Unfortunately there was a lot of hiss from the expression pickups and none from the external mic.

  • great sounding guitar!

  • oh and does this taylor have the expression system with the treble and bass switch inside near the soundhole??

  • what year model is this 714 ce, and what kind of woods does the top, back, and sides have?

  • @fezzard It's a 2009 LTD with a spruce top and indian rosewood sides. It has the expression system, and both internal pickups were on during this recording (switches near the soundhole). That brings up a good point, and I will do another recording on each internal setting to see if it eliminates some of the hiss from the guitar input line...Thanks.

  • Beautiful!! Love the sound and the recording. Glad I subscribed to you. Two thumbs up!

Are you open to pm's for question about recording good sound for videos?

    peace,

    Tim

  • @chessdude67 Thanks for the compliments! I'm not sure what pm's are, but I'd be glad to answer any questions. I use Sonar 8 Producer. If it's a program you are intereted in (300 bucks on ebay), check out "dustypuppy" for great tutorial videos, and the cakewalk website for an overview of their software I highly recommend the software.

  • try to adjust the guitar/mic input sensitivity a little bit lower to eliminate the hizz sound then volume up the guitar instead. hope this would help. cheers!

  • @winslim21 Thanks for the help. When I was testing it, I did just that, and the hiss did go away, but the output levels were super quiet on the recording (-20db), I couldn't boost the final signal enough to compare with the mic'd signal (-2db). I think it would sound great at a lower output volume, but the only way I've found to bring it up to CD levels with other instruments is to over EQ it, which drastically changes the sound.

  • @winslim21 I think the bass and mids sound great in the expression system, but the trebbles sound way better through a mic, so maybe I'll record it at a lower level through the guitar for no hiss, and just EQ the heck out of the bass part, then mix it with the nice trebbles from the mic.

  • Yep, keep trying to experiment until u find the best setting. goodluck!

  • i miss my 714ce, its under treatment with dehumidifier for 3 weeks. great sound you got there.

  • @winslim21 I'm paranoid about humidity damage and keep it in it's case with gel packs for a 45 percent humidity level.

  • What a beautifully crafted piece of work!!! I've been eye balling the 816ce. ANY Taylor is an awesome one.

  • @reidwallace I agree, the taylor sound is hard to beat, it's worth paying a couple of extra bucks in my opinion. There is some low white noise from the guitar line, and virtually no noise from the mic side. I can't decide if it's the interface to my computer, or the guitar pickups.

  • @Skicolorado75 I just listened again......You hardly hear the noise.....I'm far from pro but I guess it's anything but the Taylor....by the way.....you picked one of the better Taylors in my opinion. I'm jelous for sure.
