I got this laptop a while ago, it runs great. But when you play games like Skyrim or Ac Brotherhood it can't handle it ,and lags nonstop even in the lowest possible settings. I was wandering If I could upgrade the processor and video card on this laptop?
This laptop is good for just everyday web browsing and crap like that, but running games is a different story. Not great at all.
Although it is pretty fast with the internet. The keyboard is a bit annoying if you get dirt or coarse things in there like finger nail clippings or crumbs, but you'll be able to pop the keys off and back on to clean (NOT THE SPACEBAR!!) I'm not sure if it's just my computer specifically, or everyone with this comp has this problem, but it crashes a lot--VERY ANNOYING

Do you know how to access the boot menu on this laptop? I'm trying to install a Linux operating system on it, but cant seem to figure out how! Please help?

Laptop is good, but the touchpad is not located in the center of the computer. It would be great for left handed people, but not right handed. To do a normal mouse click with your right hand, you would be reaching too far to the left. It is very awkward to get use to. But overall, I like the purchase so far.

@MegaBolt9 From personal experience, many laptops, both Intel/AMD, seem to have capability issues with Minecraft. As minecraft only uses 1 core on your cpu, hyper-threading processor's don't have any impact on performance such as this model. I would think if you want Minecraft to run very well on a laptop, look for one that has a high clock speed; dual core or quad core doesnt matter since Minecraft only uses one core.

I've confirmed that it will run the games she currently plays (such as Dragon Age: Origins), although perhaps not some of the newest games (such as Might & Magic: Heroes VI). Any chance you'll be doing a review of laptops powered by AMD A-series processors, such as this new Gateway?

I wondering if you have a problem with the sound of your CPU fan... Like is always on? Is it loud when there no hardly tasks are running? Is it quiet once in a while? Because I had a netbook and the fan is always annoying and the low performance... Thanks...
@BV93630360JUAN I have this laptop and you barely hear the fan run. Just don't try to play cpu-heavy games on it, since the graphics card is weak. Also, Windows 7 x64 has a nasty habit of freezing when running flash at random times...but it clears up after 2 mins or so.
@jttechtv You're completing wrong. I have one and it stays at 47 degrees C just normal browsing; 55C with multiple programs running. My old computer ran at about 78 degrees C idle. BIG DIFFERENCE!

I got this laptop not too long ago from Comp USA! I love it... the only problem is the battery life. It dies a little too fast, but one question i had was can it handle pc games? I want to play Prey, Sims, and possibly Dragon Age. Can anybody help me with that?

@its36D To answer your question, if you happen to purchase this laptop with the Intel Core i3 processor then I know for sure that yes, it does in fact run Starcraft 2.
I am able to run the game at almost full speed to full speed at 1280 by 720 resolution with all low settings on full screen and with that being said, it could be at a lower resolution and with medium, possibly high settings if you lower the resolution enough.

@its36D hehe if u havent already gotten one id say go with the one that you feel is more durable/cost effective if there both at the same price then just go on instinct on what u want specs are great but quality/design that fits your personality also counts ^.^
@bryaniowa You are correct. No product is perfect, but this one sure is close, and I do not work for Gateway. After using the laptop for 60 days, I found there was not much I didn't like about it. And the one thing I did not like, I did mention in the video. It was that bothersome little key that I constantly hit and things appeared on the screen. I did mention that in the video, so you are incorrect about me saying nothing negative.

I have it and I wouldnt recomend for surfing or casual use. It heats up very fast and has a history of crashing due to overheating.

@its36D Both of those computers are meant for casual gaming, but the specs are impressive, so I don't see why it wouldn't run Starcraft 2!
