@KILLSWITCH831 Aww come on driver', you musta zigged when I zagged. Besides if you ate that tri tip, you woulda got yer ass whooped by mama when you brought all those tacos back home...
Same on mine. Makes a big difference when you double the amount of tire sidewalls supporting the weight. Once in a while I'd get into small enough construction sites that the only way to get out was to shorten the truck and turn around with the bed straight up. The only disadvantage is that sometimes you get stuck with a tight dump site where you have to jack the tractor 90 to the trailer to dump in a small pocket with little wiggle room. No problem when pulling the trailer to the tractor.....
... but when the load pushes up against the back of the trailer you need to roll forward while lowering the bed. This is one time that these trailers get unstable, because the tractor has to roll forward 90 degrees to the trailer, so it's trying to turn the trailer and the two axles fight each other as the tires scrub on the ground. All you can do is take it slow and easy and make no sudden moves. When a trailer is on one axle the wheels just caster around the corner like a shopping cart
Nice to see a fellow Aggregate Hauler! I was also going to ask your opinion on something. I'm moving to Colorado in a year or two and will be working for a aggregate company. I'm buying a 35 ft Clement Starlite. Just thought id get your opinion on it
@peterbiltlvr I haven't had any experience with a Starlite, but I looked at one on their website. They claim it will haul 1 ton more payload than other trailers but they don't tell you what trailer they're comparing it to. I hauled 23.1 tons with 33,980 on each set of tandem axles with the Ranco. But I was always about 2000 pounds light on the steer axle because I couldn't slide my fifth wheel forward without the landing gear hitting the back of the tractor. That wouldn't be a problem with......
.....the Starlite, because it has removable landing gear, so there's a plus. I like the wider one piece longitudinal brace under the Starlite, looks more structurally sound than the double beams on the Ranco. I like that the mudflaps tuck up like on a transfer, nothing worse than not lifting your gate in time and tearing one off. I don't know about the profile, my bed was half round which helps resist becoming dented when big rocks get dropped in and makes them slide out without getting hung up.
One thing I really liked on the Ranco, was that the brake pots and S cams were mounted on top of the axles instead of hanging underneath where they can get snagged by rocks that roll back under the trailer.
Another impressive video man, great job i always look forward to your videos, Btw, is that a C12 in ur rig? I got a C13 in mine, its worthless, but urs sounds a lot better.
Thanks, I'm thinking of making a longer video and editing this one into it. Yeah it's a worthless C-12 lol. We got a couple of new trucks (bulk cement) with C-13's and they walk right past my truck. I should say used to, since I'm not working there anymore. Hopefully I'll land the plant operations job as a stationary engineer, so that I can finally afford to restore my '62 Pete. Then you'll be able to hear videos with a 335 Cummins with dual straight stacks and a set of sticks.
@bullyfrog08 Ha thanks but don't worry about the Aggregate vids, I have about 238 Gigs of archived video files to edit from, plus I have another 150 gigs of high def truckin vid clips taken with my new camera and am waiting until I get new editing software to get to work on...

Thanks man! Another thing i like about it is all the trailer tires stay on the ground while dumping.
