That looks so cool. Would a person need any special equipment to get to Camp Muir, or would plain everyday clothes be fine? And what would be the best time of year (least amount of snow) to get up there? Nice vid
@Vorash2002 If you are new to climbing / hiking up to Camp Muir I would go during the summer on a nice clear day. Weather on Rainier can change quickly and people have died on the Muir snowfield.
@Vorash2002 . You would want hiking boots that are water proof b/c there is snow on the snowfield year-around. Ski poles are nice for balance. Clothing for hot weather at the start of the hike and cold weather gear when you reach ~ 10,000 leverl (Camp Muir). I would also carry the ten essentials and go with someone who has been there before and knows what they are doing (there can be crevasses on the snow field). Other than that it's beautiful up there...like another world.
@landis444 If nothing else take a hike up to Camp Muir some sunny summer day. Almost as rewarding as getting to the top!
