Nothing like the Nero Wolfe Rext Stout describes in the books. Wolfe rarely shouts like this - and when he does, it's just one or two words, when someone interrupts him or something. Horrible.

After I saw a few episodes back in '01 I headed straight for the bookstore and got hooked on Stout. This was such a great TV series: rich visuals, a new dimension breathed into the characters and relationships, great music, and not to mention a helluva lot of flare and fun. So much fun I have the DVD set!

The tv series was what introduced me to Nero Wolfe. Now when I read the books (which are just pure heaven) I picture every one of the tv cast - can hear them deliver the lines. I don't think there is a better Nero Wolfe in my mind than Maury Chakin - and no better Archie than Timothy Hutton. Rex Stout would have been extremely proud of them, I think. They stayed so true to his work.
