@Kordobano Actually it is cheaper. One aircraft sortie, one mission, one target destroyed the first* time. Plus the aircraft dropping the bombs never were in harms way, up high. What price to you put on a pilot and his aircraft?
Read up on Vietnam, Korea and WWII and compare.
Btw the schools in Calif. are full of illegal aliens, that it where your education money is going, educating non-Americans.

@MVrockersPS3 11 people are wrong, these are un-powered guided retro-fitted dumb bombs, not missiles. A GBU-38 around $50,000 out the door.
Compare this to previous wars that would require several aircraft or missions to destroy the same target. Taliban with Stingers or Soviet Strella's couldn't hit this aircraft at the altutude most bombs are dropped from.

@rampking1 not to mention the range on those JDAMS are between 15-40+ miles :) depending if upgraded or not. laser designation, or programmed before flight or during flight for targets. pilots are not in danger.
