Whether through Christian or secular historical documentation, the actual historical existence of the man, Jesus of Nazareth, is not really in question. Historically (and I mean from a purely academic level), the man did exist. If we are to consider the writings of Tacitus, Josephus, and Suetonius alone, there is little doubt that he was an historical figure. I would say that the man was extremely embellished post-death.
