  • why u trown it away ??? WTF

  • lol @ dropping it right when you get it out of the wrap

  • Can't the support for SSD for Vista be updated with a SP2 for example ?

Well, maybe we are forced to change over to Windows 7 then ?

    I think that's already optimized.

  • Harddisks are slowly getting out of duty! ( well, maybe not entirely )

  • duuuude that shock test was small but emm yh these things can take 1500Gs!!

  • 1500g? so what kind shock we talking ?

  • that means 250grams x 1500 = 30 tonns of fall. like falling from 6000 feet.

  • but my normal hard drive is 360g's thats still quite far dropping im gonna throw it around :)

  • Dont take my calculations too serious, lol. Maybe its a drop from 100 feet. ;)

  • :( wanted to beat people with it and say haha

  • Did you know that there is an almost 3 times difference in price of OCZ SSDs between the SLC and MLC versions. They have the same access times (3.8 milliseconds) and the same read/write speeds (132MB/sec & 89MB/sec). Me thinks SLC is much superior.

  • The Core series is a litte bit faster in read/write speeds than the normal SATAII SSD from OCZ with SLC memory. But only in sequential reading/writing! And this is a rare case, because Windows and other OSs read/write randomly. Parallel access is the overkill for the Core Series, the speed drops exponentially.

  • I'm waiting for Micron's P200 (I'll skip C200).

  • I testet the Core Series, too (watch my video). In the end the performance was disappointing. The benchmarks and also Vista bootup were fine, but if I was running something in the backgroung, for example anti virus or Vista's index service, the performance dropped down extemely. Sometimes, the system seemed to be not recognizing any more, but it was the SSD, running on the limit. In the OCZ Support forum, there are many similar field reports. I selled the Core Series in the end.

  • Ill blame vista.

Read around. Youll note that vista has been recognized to do bad use of ssd disks, and perfomance is rather bad.

  • write speed is often concealed when u buy an ssd drive or usb key,but a write latency higher than 1 Milisecond is unacceptable for an ssd drive. Volatile Ram drives have a write latency of 0.6 microseconds, write speed is what makes a drive blazing fast in boot times, app runs, and pagefile, not the MB/s transfer figures. MB/s counts only when copying large files from drive to drive. make sure you see random write speed mesured in miliseconds before you buy an ssd, if its concealed, dont buy it.

  • Why did you throw it around? lol.

  • its SSD it doesnt matter ... if it get tossed around ...

  • No, you missunderstood me. The data rate is very low if you do more than one thing at the moment, for example scanning for viruses and opening a bigger file. Look at the OCZ support forum, there are many users who are disappointed about the perfomance. Some even report loss of data.

  • it just came out so the programs and games don't support to push all its performance. probably in the next year it will be worth more.

  • 64gb is not alot -.-

  • It's meant to be used as a system disk, you can install Windows and some software.

Use a 2nd HDD for the rest...

  • Watch the future unwrap before your eyes ... ;)

  • Nice but don't touch the contacts.

  • Nice, benchmarks please :)

  • Check Maxishine Reviews, it's a good little device but not yet worth the money.

  • Cheers will do :)
