i saw him in person 6 or 8 times and had the extreme pleasure of meeting him after one of the shows. my daughter and I had another wonderful gift when he posed with us for a photo. he was the nicest and sweetest person. i miss him .....so much!!!
I saw him in 1980(?) on Broadway doing 'Up In One' a more or less one man show. It was fantastic. I even got an autograph. He is one singer who's songs will always touch me, make me laugh or cry. I'd never seen this before - thank you!
Peter used to appear at the North Shore Music Theater in Beverly, MA for years. My mom used to go all the time but never asked me to go along. Now looking back all those years ago, I would have loved to see him perform. Did anyone see him at the Music Theater?
oh my GOD!...how on earth can this be?! TWO of my favorite things in the whole world, combined into one?! i'm speechless with joy!! thank you so much for this! Now all i need to find is Bruce singing one of peters quintessential songs!
I can't believe I am reading that there is someone else for whom this is there 2 favorites in the whole world. Then maybe you would be the only person who will understand that I almost lost my mind when he did this song. I was at this show & there was no reason in the world to believe that Peter was going to do a Bruce song , esp. back then. I literally flew into the aisle dancing in amazement & joy. Being in a constant state of joy was normal @ Peter's shows , but this put it into crazy-joy !
Ah, that whole Radio City Music Hall concert is wonderful. Hungry Heart (and some other tunes) are on the original VHS video. I don't understand why they left them off the DVD. Thanks for posting it!
I love this man. I have "The Boy From Oz" video and would really like to have the video from Radio City Music Hall. Is it still available? (Actually, any video). Do you have any idea where I can get them? Thanks.
What a treat! middle of the night, first laptop, just typed this in :) didn't know y you could do stuff like this!!! MORE!!!!

The legacy of Peter Allen, Son of the Tenterfield Saddler, must surely become one with Banjo Paterson, Henry Lawson.
'These Three', define 'us'.
Listen, LISTEN, to what you year.

When he left the stage the world became a cold nad lonely place for his fans still miss him and the music all these years later.
Wherever he is right now the place is rocking and crowded with happy people.
Seems so unfair to lose someone so great way to soon.
Seems the truly great die young and leave the world missing them.
