This has got to be one of the hardest games of all time. The xbla versions of 1 and 2 are both faithful to the original and the updated graphics (optional) are cool also.

One of the features is youcan press 'y' andyou will be able to switch between 3D high res, and 2D low res,and you can even play the proper original without widescreen... it's actually really fun, and just as frustrating as the originals... lol check itout, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

I love R-Type games (although in general I suck at them), can't wait for this one. Had the original on my Spectrum all those years ago. Also loved R-Type Delta on PSX and R-Type Final on PS2. I hope this is out this wednesday.

Really disappointed with the 'enhanced' graphics and whats with the stupid 2.5D mode? It doesnt add anything to the gameplay so why include it?

Wish the devs had spent more time making the gfx look acceptable, rather than adding shitty gimmicks.

I will be sticking with the original R-type on my pc-engine.

the tilt is indeed rubbish - but it's optional.

The same visuals can be shown purely side on, and it's great. R-TYPE IN HI-DEF! my hdtv has waited long for it.

See that's my other point, the graphics look cartoony. R-type was a badass game, not some cartoon.

Would I really have spent a large portion of my youth on R-type if it looked like that? Definitely not.
