  • @CescoPisicoli, there is no such thing as a "home chef." You may be a great cook, but someone who cooks at home and someone who runs a restaurant kitchen are completely different.

  • its performance art, no different than a string quintet playing a piece of music composed by mozart. They try to make the food as they imagine the food to taste like and look like, based on a pre-written recipe by the original chef themselves. The diners, if they have had the food from the restaurants in questions will be the ones to judge if the level of the cooks' recreation was good or great or bad. It gives the cooks a chance to measure themselves as well, plus its fun.

  • i dont understand the point of this. You get 5 obviously professional cooks together in one kitchen to recreate menus someone else has put together? thats time they could have put towards collaborating on a menu of their own. but whateva....
