  • did you have scopes on your ruger's or were you using stock sights.

  • are you using target barrels or standard? whats your actual set up in detail,

  • my marlin can group 3 shots in 1 inch at 100 yards

  • @skateboy159 is it a 925?

  • Optics? what kind of ammo?

    Very Impressive!

  • These groups are shooters, not guns. These can deliver 6 inch groups at 400 yards. 1 1/2 at 100 no problem

  • @MrImablur i would love to see u put a 6 inch group into a 400 yard target or even see it for that matter lol

  • @MrImablur i don think so

  • Very impressive shooting gents!

  • Not bad for a day which looks to be very windy, especially at that distance. It would be nice to know what ammo you were using.

  • Is this gun semi auto?? i might consider going pick one up.

  • @SayManWhatsUp Yes, it is semi-auto. The Ruger 10/22 is a lot of fun to shoot and it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg.

  • @ramseyrye no but maby a few fingers

  • how much drop was on that? i'm thinking of using my CZ452 varmint at that range

  • If you're still using the factory trigger then those are pretty good groups for 100 yds. with a 10/22. Especially since I can see that you have a slight cross wind.

  • @torchss It was still the factory trigger at the time we made this video. Since then I have replaced it and it's shooting even better!

  • @ramseyrye

whats your set up, i would love to do that :)

whats the weight (minus the stock if possible)

Thank you can keep on shooting!

  • @torchss

    trigger effect aiming?

  • damn those are some pretty nice groups for a .22 at 100 yards

  • @keyedyourcar55 Thank you! We've had better days. I just happened to remember the camera this time.

  • Wow! The range is so far away from the point-of-impact that the report of the round is heard a split second before impact onto the target.

  • beautiful shooting i love my 10/22

  • @escape602 Thanks! Me too!

  • @ramseyrye is that just iron sights? what kinda setup if any do you have for your 10/22, i just fitted mine with a Simmons 22mag scope and butler creek folding stock.

  • were these with target models or regular stock models?

    wht type of ammo?

  • @ktktwix Both our rifles are built up. The only thing stock is the receivers.

I'm pretty sure we were using Blazer .22lr.

  • @ramseyrye Oh alright because I just have a stock one and I put a 4x scope on it and with remington golden bullets I was shooting about 1 3/4 inch groups at 50 yards and about 4 1/2 inch groups at 100 and i was wondering if mine was inaccurate or not because my marlin just blows it away

  • @ktktwix It's hard to beat the Marlin out of the box. The great thing about the Ruger 10/22 is that there is thousands of after-market options for it. A good target barrel from Green Mountain and a trigger job will do wonders. An adjustable target stock and a bi-pod will benefit you greatly, as well. You might also want to look into a higher power scope with an adjustable objective. I like the BSA Sweet .17, myself. It's cheap and it works great for a .22!

  • @ramseyrye yeah i put a ati strikeforce stock on mine for a while but didn't like the looks too much, I prefer just the classic configuration. and the way money is these days I can't justify putting a whole lot of cash into one gun

  • @ktktwix those are crap groups for 50 yards...sorry to tell you that.....not bad at 100....22's fall apart after 50 yards there moa opens right up.....i have a stock 10/22 the only thing ive done is free float 14.5 inches of my 18.5 inch standard barrel....i shoot 3/4 FIVE shot groups worst case at 50 yards around half to 5/8 inch is normal......thats with cci stingers only though....ive used remington viper winchester bulk and american eagle these are shit...1-2 inch groups

  • @devonwesticles yes this reply sorta came right in time i just sold my 10-22 a few days ago it just wan't really for me i sold it and 5 mags for 200$ and used the money towards a new savage mkII btvs and im getting easy 1" groups at 100 yards with just bulk ammo and with ELEY and CCI sub sonics i am getting a little more the 1/2" at 100 yards and less then 2' at 50

  • good job at 100 yrds! I love 10/22 but a factory rifle and bulk pack ammo and i didnt know it could be done that well. Kudos

  • @gospinout Thank you! It was also pretty windy that day. I think we were aimed about four inches to the left!

  • your shooting needs alot of work, that weapon is capable of far greater accuracy than what is seen here... but given the wind speed and the distance at which you are from the target i would say thats " ok " shooting... as i dont know the level of care you take in maintaining your firearms. I wouldnt even think about hunting if i were you, at least not until you get familiar with that weapon...

  • @KAPichon It's illegal to hunt with a rimfire .22 in my neck of the woods so I'm not going to worry about hunting with this rifle.

  • @KAPichon they did fine with that amount of wind...at 100 yards you transition to sub sonic and the shock changes your trajectory slightly

  • Thats about how my 15-22 does with bulk ammo. Nice shootin!

  • @scuds03 Thank you!

  • wow i can get way better groups than that. plus i used a bore laser for my scope

  • guy on the right pwning, ohh no guy on left takes the lead ....lol

  • Thats pretty good! these guns are alot more accurate than they're given credit for my one groups better than my dad's ancshutz!

  • @1968lr I've never shot an Ancshutz, but I've heard they are really accurate. maybe your dad should have his tuned up.

Thanks for the comment and have fun shooting!

  • isnt the bullet drop like a foot @ 100 yards?

  • @saj12100 About that. Maybe a little less.

  • @saj12100 its around 5-6 inches depending on round

  • @88prerunner88 oh, i heard it was about a foot.

  • not bad, are those 10/22's stock? have you done any work to them. group on left looks very nice.

  • @lightningman01 No, they have been built up. Adjustable target stock, bull barrel, trigger job, 3-13x40 scope and bipod.

  • @lightningman01 very nice, i have been shooting my 10/22 at clay pigeons at 200 yards, can usually hit clay on second shot. what ammunition do you shoot?

  • Ive been practicing for about 4 weeks with the Ruger 10 22 (with a great scope) and now i can hit a quarter 8 out of 10 times from 80 yards. I'm not that experienced so i want to know is that good enough for competition???

  • @bbeeaauu777

I'm not sure, I've never competed.

  • was he using a scope?

  • is a ruger 10/22 really that accurate!? blimeeeyy

  • Not bad considering the wind and all - Will have to take ur word that its 100yds. I belivieve it.. Watching this makes me want to buy a .22 and have some fun !!

  • @xtraflo

    It's fun and cheap!

  • Those shoot.n.see targets rock!

  • They are truly awesome!

  • Nice shootin. Man ur friend did some good grouping after the first few shots.

  • @nativebrother He was having a great day!

  • How big are those targets?

  • @powaybob I think they're 6 inches.

  • How can I get my scope sighted in at 100 yards? Even using a sandbag in zero wind the bullets have a minimum spread of 2 inches from the bulls-eye, so I don't know if it's my scope or me... At 50 yards I can drive a nail in the bulls-eye, so I know the scope is good for 50.

  • @PSNjizzcake What kind of barrel do you have on your rifle. If you're using the factory barrel you're going to have trouble out past 50 yards. I use a Green Mountain target barrel. I noticed a definite improvement after installing it.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @ramseyrye It's the standard barrel for a marlin 60. scope is 3-9X40 CenterPoint

  • @PSNjizzcake I'm mot sure what is available for the marlin 60 as far as after-market barrels are concerned, but I would look into it if I were you. A bull barrel can really help you r accuracy! An adjustable stock wouldn't hurt, either.

  • thoes targets are sweet

  • @heading7593 Ya, they kick ass!

  • is it just me, or does it take a few rounds for a 22 lr rifle to heat up and then be consistent in shooting? i have a remington model 597 anybody else have this problem?

  • I think there may be some truth to what you say.

  • nice shootin.. the ruger 10/22 was my first gun my dad purchased for me as a kid still own it today (22) still looks like new!

  • Thanks for the comment!

I take mine with me every time I go shooting. With the prices of ammo going up, up, up it allows me to shoot as much as I want without breaking the bank.

  • Proving it to yourself isn't "proving it"(to anyone that matters). And how do you know my shooting is crappy?

"i shouldnt be wasting my time with a punk like you" sound familiar?

  • I appreciate you telling this jerk off, but I've removed his comments as they are rude, juvenile and a waste of all of our time.

    Again, thanks for the comments!

  • If you aren't going to prove it then we don't care what you have to say. You can shut the fuck up and keep your negative comments to yourself. Nice video ramseyrye.

  • I agree, the Blazer ammo changed, really dont care for it too much now.

    Eley 10X is the best .22 ammo you can get- kinda expensive ($8 - $10 x 50rnds)

But I really like that Winchester low velocity (Grey box) ammo too, cant beat the preice. Very accurate too.

Nice shooting at 100 yrds. tho! Do you have a custom barrel? Volquartsen are pretty awesome!

  • Eley Sport, Team and Match are cheaper alternatives that will do just fine for every day target shooting.

Tenex is the top of the line, but for every day use. Far to expensive, at least with my current budget. Talk to me when I'm a millionaire =P

  • Tell me about it! Hey, thanks for the comment!

  • I have a bull barrel made by Green Mountain.

    Thanks for the info!

  • CCI Minimag in 22lr is what i have always shot and im hitting a silver dollar size group at 50 yards in the cold. (reason i say this is because it was so cold the other day i couldn't feel my fingers and i couldn't hold steady on the sand bag because of the magazine. but none the less cci minimag is only 6 dollars for 100 rounds which is nice.

  • Very Good ! What ammo was it?

  • I think we were using Blazer at the time. Blazer has since changed their bullets and I don't like them anymore.

Right now I'm mostly using Federal because it's cheap.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • no offense but ur friend shitted on u, not saying ur bad but damn he's good

  • We both have our good days and our less-then-good days. Ya, he beat the crap outta me that day!

  • thats kinda terrible.

i hate those 10/22's. and yes i had one, got rid of it because it was very inaccurate. i have a savage bolt action from the 70's, have probably shot 50,000 rounds out of it, and its way more accurate than any other new 22.

  • I totally agree with you that a bolt action .22 is more accurate than a semi-auto. Savage makes some great rifles.

  • 10 22's are not inaccurate i could probably strike a match with my rifle

  • @floridabowhunter

10/22s are MOSTLY purchased just because they are cheap, average, and insanely easy to modify. there are literally thousands of aftermarket parts.

  • fucking retard you should have got a ruger 10/22

  • Hey I was looking at a ruger 10/22, but the capacity is 10+1, how were you able to shoot so many without reloading?

  • its called hi-cap magazines... they make them in 25 and 50 and some others

  • Well yea I guessed that, but I've never seen them for this gun =/

    Anyone got a link?

  • they sell 24 rounds mags for the 10/22

  • @MoRRisoNRisiN , and 50.

  • I have one of the clips that holds four factory 10 round magazines. It kinda looks like a big plus symbol when you have all of them in there. It also has a compartment in the middle that holds about 50 extra rounds of ammo.

  • scope?

  • BSA Sweet .17. It has an adjustable objective which I think is important on a .22.

  • wat kind of targets are those

  • They are splatter targets made by Birchwood Casey.

  • thanks i got some a few days ago

  • How do you like the splatter targets?

  • If you would use a lighter back stop or rest the holes would be much smarter and it would save some target.

  • i like them alot

  • Nice groups. cold bore flyers on the first few (left target.) My best with my 10/22 is a bit over 2 MOA with CCI Velocitors and a hair under 2 minutes with Eley club match.

  • I might have to try those brands you mentioned. We're just using Blazer .22lr ammo. It's cheap and they fly nice and true.

  • @PseudoScienceb20 , wat yardage. if thats bench at 50 yrds, get new ammo.

  • awesome shooting! looks pretty windy too!

  • Thanks! Ya, it was really windy that day. The wind changed directions three times. First west, then north and finally east. It made for some challenging shots!

  • nice shooting

  • Thanks!

  • arent those peel and stick targets?

  • Yes they are. We just stapled the whole sheet to the board.

  • oh i was wondering if i was the only one who did that... you guys did some nice shooting i hope to get a gun like that soon i have a problem with spending my money on my pellet gun instead of saving a little while and getting a 22

  • I think you'll really enjoy the .22 over the pellet gun.

  • i have a pellet gun and just got a .22, wow you can shoot for hours with the .22 and wont cost you much at all with ammo, i love it!

  • yeah i had a couple of pellet guns and i was planning on getting a ruger until i watched my friend shoot his and it jammed like every third shot just because he hadnt cleaned the magazine in a while but i didnt want to deal with that so i went with a marlin model 795ss i went through 1000 rounds so far and no jams and i also picked up a savage mark 2 from a friend they are both great guns and you cant beat the price either i got both guns for cheaper than one of my pellet guns

  • so you were to lazy to actually care about a gun so you get some piece of crap?

  • no i said my friends gun jammed a lot and yes it was because he hadnt cleaned it right and he did clean it right and now it does work fine. and neither of the guns that i own are peices of crap. and the 795 is in my opinion nicer than the ruger it has its ups and downs about it but all considered i still like the 795 better. and my pellet gun costed $250 before the stuff i put on it so if you were thinking about the price you were wrong about that

  • marlin isnt a piece of crap but the ruger 10/22 deffinatly sucks balls

  • wouldnt want to be a prairie dog in your field...hehehe

  • Ya, too bad we don't have any prairie dogs here. We'd put a hurtin on em!

  • Awsome shooting.....

  • Thank you very much!

  • What type of ammo are you using? I really like the Lapua X-Act for precision shooting at distances of up to 100 yards.

  • Blazer .22lr

It flies true and feeds fairly consistently. It's also pretty cheap, which is a plus.

I've never tried the Lapua ammo. Maybe I'll give it a shot. Ha, ha.

  • I have my rifle tricked-out. and I am getting one hole groups at 70 yards. I see that MidwayUSA dot comm has Lapua X-ACT on sale for $29.99 for fifty rounds. If you want the accuracy you have to pay the price. Oh.. BTW.. I would not waste your money on the Lapua until you have a match barrel and have made modifications to the action to get the accuracy you are looking for.

  • I have the match grade barrel and the mods on my action. I think I'll give the Lapua a try. Thanks a lot for the info!

  • Many of the shooters around here like the Tactical Solutions barrel. I have been using the Lilja .920" SS match and it has been a tack driver. Also I have the Tactical Solutions receiver, with the Volquartsen bolt,, and HP kit. everyone here seems to have good luck with that combination.

  • sounds like a sweet set-up! I have a .920" bull barrel from Green Mountain.

  • Ya, some days are better than others! I rechecked the yardage on those 175 shots and it turns out it was 160. Oops.

  • Wow, you're much more accurate at "175 yards".

    lol

  • not bad.. that 10/22 must be slightly moded huh?

  • Ya, both of them are.

  • It's a BSA sweet 17 3X12X40 with an adjustable objective.

  • what kind of scope r u using

  • hey anyone have a 10/22 sporter stock (the checkered one) they want to sell? just wondering thanks! private msg me if ya do!

  • Nice shooting. That is excellent at 100 yards with a 10/22. I have owned several Ruger 10/22's and currently have a new stainless model with synthetic stock. I have had it since August and still haven't shot it. I am inspired to get out and shoot now. Thanks for the video.

  • Thanks a lot for the comment! Have fun shooting your new Ruger.

  • I understand your doubt. I've had a lot of negative feedback on my vids and I'm starting to think it might be my camera.

I assure you that the yards are true. We counted them with a wheel. That is more accurate then any laser range finder. This is true of all my vids.

By the way, you might want to post some video yourself before you start judging others.

    ps: work on your spelling

  • this may be the only video posted by ramseye that it even close to what he claims the distance to be. The time between firing and bullet hitting the target is longer, but I would like to doubt 100 yards, highly doubt it at that.

  • both of you did really bad in the begining but made tighter clusters.

  • It's a Sony Handycam. The zoom is 40X, but I don't think I had it set that high.

  • What kind of camera are you using? What's the zoom on it?

  • i want the ignorant guy to comment....you know, the one that posts on all your videoa without the zoomout to conferm distance that you not really firing at 100+ yards. i hate people that smear other just because they dont have the ability themselves

  • the bullets must have considerable drop i guess? at 50 yds everything must be hitting high.

  • We are both pretty good at adjusting our scopes, especially from 50 to 100 yards and back. It usually takes 3-5 seconds and you're shooting dead on the cross hairs. Once we start getting out past 150 yards we have to start aiming high.

  • Same question as sparrow here, any other mods apart from the scope or just factory standard?

    Nice shooting by the way!

    Cheers

  • I installed a Butler Creek "running boar" barrel. I ordered the stock through Brownells. It has adjustable height and comb. The scope is a BSA adjustable objective 3x12. I also installed an extended mag release, a drop-in trigger job and a synthetic bolt stop.

I had to take the stock out a bit to fit the receiver and I also shaved the cheek piece considerably. The fit of the receiver in the stock is so tight it feels like it's bedded!

The barrel is free floating. Hope that answers your question.

  • Wow Impressive, not to take sides but your buddy seems to have a tighter pattern and no orange center showing. I put a scope on mine aswell, what power scopes are you using?

  • I was using a 12 power and he's using a 16 power.

Yes, he out shot me, but when it comes to speed shooting I get the gold.

  • Well, we were shooting 100 yards and the black target is 8 inches so that should give you an idea of how we were shooting that day.

We both have custom barrels and stocks and we both use an adjustable objective scope. We have both installed trigger jobs in our weapons as well as a synthetic bolt stop and bedding. I have shaved my cheek-piece down twice and I may do it again.

I like to use a Haris bi-pod and my friend uses sand bags. He likes to click his scope, I prefer "Kentucky windage".

  • Both look quite accurate, what kind of groupings are you getting at 100 yards with the Rugers? Other than a scope (I'm guessing your using one) what kind of modifications have you made to the rifles, if any? 5/5
