tough plane... I have one and I was surprised by how strong it is. no other plane other than a foamy can tumble like that and stay in realitivly one piece
i think it was mostly the crosswind, looks to me as if the wind was blowing pretty strong directly then the plane took a right turn and the left wing got swept up in the crosswinds
its the main cause of many crashes on light rc planes,
when learning its best fly in no wind or as little wind as possible like no more than 6-8mph on a plane of that class,
its good to have a gentle breeze to slow down landings and takeoffs but definitely avoid gusty windy days, well until you are a pro :)
You know i have to go with what everyone else is saying. I think you need to get help learning to fly and the cross wind was blowing way to hard. I hate to see a nice plane go down like that.
No, the right wheel hitting the grass did not cause the accident. Straight up pilot error. You took off crosswind, in conditions that were beyond you.
Trying to take off cross wind when you're new is NOT a wise thing...Get a dang buddy box and someone who knows wth they are doing and train you properly...
Nope, I reckon mchilders nailed it -- looks very much like a case of a stiff crosswind hitting a hi-wing trainer and blowing it right over. I've seen it before.
Like I told another guy who crashed on his first flight... if you have to learn by yourself, get a simulator! RealFlight is a good one. Then you can crash a couple hundred virtual planes until you get good. Once you can take off and land every time in the sim, go fly your real plane. Nice cartwheel btw. =D Didn't look like it took too much damage. Trainers are usually pretty sturdy.
Doesn't look like your gear got caught, it looks like the wind caught it and you didn't react soon enough. lol. if your gear got stuck, you would notice more of a bump or drastic pool. any whoo.. maybe next time ahha

That was wind related crash. I have seen it before. High wing have to be square with the wind on roll out.

WAY too windy to fly that day!
Look at the frequency flag on the transmitter antenna. It's flapping away like mad in that gusty wind.

Good point-
Sometimes rookies (like me) forget about stuff like that...

Pilot error plain and simple. You shouldn't post video if your going to use excuses.

u prolly should have the cowl on there to protect the engine

Looks like a cross-wind / high-wing situation to me. Also, did you remember to set the CG? Was there much damage?

i rebuilt the same day and flew the next day

Glad to hear it. I am covering Kadet this evening. I hope to fly it this weekend. Check out my videos too.

Looks like too much wind for a trainer. Was it damaged much?

the wind was gusting perpendicular to the runway and ppl before me were doing the same thing.
raakesh 4 years ago
did you even research how to fly that nice airplane before you screwed up lol?
you are supposed to take off going along the runway, not perpendicular to
