Whenyou8 think of old school hip hop jams, you simply MUST think of this! This may have been made back then, but it's so ahead of its time, and way out clesses the foolish and corny music of today!
i havent heard this in so long i remember when i was like 4 years old my dad would be sitting on the couch with this song cranked and i would just sit there like what the hell haha
Awesone soung. It remawnds me ah da Japanese cawtoon, Trigun. I iamgine Vash the stampede jammin' his guitar to dis soung and I imagine Nicholas playin' dis soung to his keyboard.
@STARBARTZZ This particular version was never released on 12'' single vinyl in the U.K. It was only ever available on 12'' in the U.S.A. Hope that helps dude. ('',)
After "Put the needle on the record when the drum beats go like this," there's an altered voice singing. Someone once told me it was Ofra Haza singing "Im Ninalu", but, after hearing "Im Ninalu", I didn't think that was it. It introduced me, however, to Haza, rightly or wrongly, and she is {was, R.I.P.} great. So, where did that sampling come from, I wonder?
Pump up the Volume: A True classic. Didn't loose it's power after all these years. And while most of the samples are now recovered I'm still searching for that *last* unknown sample. Please help me and take a look at my video Marrs - the final sample hunt !!
Quick question about the vid: Which version of M/A/R/R/S' Pump Up The Volume is this? 'Cause AFAIK there are quite a few versions but this one is the one I've been looking for!
This version was the one that hit the US Top 40 back in 1987, so this is the one I am used to hearing on the radio. I prefer this version too, but I enjoyed hearing other ones as well.
@jeomemo me,too. you know, i'm in my 40's and when I saw " new school," that had my attention :) I was just thinking that this was "old school." lol. Great vid and yeah,I loved the breakdancers and the astrological footage too.
wenever i hear this track, i cud also remember jaydee`s plastic dreams of the 90`s, theyre both mega hits in their corresponding time....nice house music!!!!!
Yeah no hatered along Culture in 1990's..now?..Sad..who came up with Nigga and Whitey etc to me it needs to go!..Boy!!-Its racist! So how about it kids!.or people in there teens to 20''s! We don't talk like that.."Can't America get along?" With Black people?..After all they are all gods creation!..Or Love thine enemy..
no we aint. u moron. niggers are no diffrent then dogs or apes. oh and btw nigger are more likely to commit crime then whites. and trust me its not cuz of poverty. thats a very old excuse. "oops i beat a 102 yr lady! its cuz im poor"
my, you are an enlightened young fellow... you fucking ass! Clearly you're no smarter than a dog or an ape anyway... maybe i'm being unfair to dogs and apes here though... Maybe if you had a little education, you might know something about history and sociology, instead of listening to whatever right-wing nutcases you have been. Dick!
ha ha... well firstly, i'm not black and i'm not american. Secondly, I don't feel it's my job to educate someone who thinks "negroids" are no better than dogs or apes... You're obviously beyond help if you still think like someone from the 19th century...
ha ha ha...i thought people like you had become mythical creatures by this point... i guess not though... i'm gonna take a wild guess here and say that you're most likely from the southern states of the USA... I'm gonna go with....Alabama... Am i right? or right region anyway....
they are hardcore thiefs, they bring new tricks and ways to rob and steal all the time. Russian pass time is to drown jews and gypsies in the lakes... FUN FUN FUN!
hmmm, maybe thats why they want to rob and steal from you :-) You sound like Borat... Everybody sing: "In my country there is problem. And this problem is the Jew... Throw the Jew down the well" Did you ever work as a Gypsy catcher? ha ha ha
Exactly! But in the early 90's you didn't see all this hate that you see today with Black people! MTV is a joke with all this stupid music Hip-HOp!.Zzzz In my day it was called RAP and not Hip-Hop!...Uragan how did I offend you?. I have Black friends And we don't cuss like kids do today He also tells me sup bro.. Yeah and thats offending you?..Then you need help Uragan. I will always say "Tell your kid to watch his mouth!"..Thats why The Boondocks needs to be banned in America!.Peace!..

l337sp34kr, This has always been my favorite version, as well, and is indeed very hard to find if you do not know what you're looking for.
This is the version of Pump up the Volume that was mixed especially for the "Bright Lights, Big City" Soundtrack :)
Now, it will be much easier for you to find ^^
