  • The Lacanian interpretation of the restaurant story reminds me of George's anxiety over the risotto in Seinfeld.

  • the kant/death drive point is a massive sophistry. Kant's actual point is that the soul IS non-mortal is, in transcendental logic, a misleading statement of affirmation, whereas the soul is NOT mortal at least "wards off an error". The point is central to a reading of Kant, reoccuring as it does in the antinomies, for me the culmination of the critique.
