You guys who commented about his kid's eardrums and how he looked "pissed" at the end........you obviously don't have any kids nor do you watch very much of Van's drumming vids. He ends most of his demos with a punctuated thing similar to that all the time. The dude appears to be calm all the time on his vids. Also, I'll bet his kid does a LOT of LOUDER things than this on his own. I'll bet you did too when you were that age......like 5 years ago.

and after the first weeks of training, you could eventually change to your wife or mother: in that way your leg muscles will gain even more strength and your stamina will increase in large scale!!! haha

and in about 5 or 6 years you'll see lars ulrich or nicko mcbrain carry with sumo wrestlers in their cars, just to go to practice with the band

if you have cargo pants you can put something kinda heavy in the cargo pocket, there are also weight straps for sale at exercise equipment retailers that you can strap to your leg

I had the same problem. Im no expert, but keep adjusting your new pedal until it feels good. I know some are a pain to adjust, but its worth it. Also, that left foot isn't used to working that much so take it slow at first. What I did was pratice 8ths, 16ths, trips, gallops and rev gallops slow just keeping time with the hat or ride, and snare on whatever beat u want. After that, throw in some fills and keep those feet going smooth and even.

Well, can't say i have a child, but I workout my bass drum speed in fitness by just strapping on like 15 or 20 dumbbells to my quads., lol. It's one of the most intense leg workouts ever ^^

they have left handed double bass pedals. they probably would have to order it for you b/c they are not as common.
