YOu are missing the point. Giving that the current regim fooled everyone but what you all forget is how they got here to begin with. Britn thought to support their own agenda when Shah was defending our own economy and west worked to stop him by supporting Khomain to stop him.

The reason they wanted Khamenei in power is because of creating an Green Islamic belt near USSR for long term geopolitical goals:
1) Weakening Russia & Iran
2) Boosting Shia Islam to accelerating rifts between Shia and Sunni ("Divide and Rule")
3) Prepare for a Blitz Krieg (the proxy war of Saddam vs. Iran) to separate Khuzestan (in line with "Bernard Lewis Project" still ongoing through covert operations).
4) Imposition of religious laws to bring misery to the people.

A great patriot. Iran will never be lucky enough to have another leader like him.
Two flaws which led to his and Iran's demise: 1. He talked too much, should have never talked about his grand plan for an indeprndent, super powerful Iran. 2. He did not have the resolve to quickly order the security forces to stop the people from jumping in front of a train.

Also I may add, that he wasn't close to the people and often distant himself and let savak take control in every aspect of peoples lives, because when Khomeinie kesafat came to power initially he had over 90% of the popular vote and almost everyone was happy the Shah was leaving....too bad they got tricked by Hezbollahe kesafat

هرچه بد شاه بود، هر چیزی در ایران هست از زمان شاه هست،از ارتش, نیرو هوایی,مترو یا حتّی نیروی اتمی ایران را شاه پایه گزشت و اگه مونده بود ایران ۲۵ سال پیش از انگلیس بِهتر میشد، این رژیم تو ۳۰ سال با در امد نفت ۲۰ برابر ۱۰۰ سال قبل از این رژیم جز خرابی , دزدی و شکنجه هیچ چیز نیاورد...
