  • Every time I see Sarah Palin doing this speech I can see that she is reading a teleprompt witch is neither here nor there, but what gets me is that Sarah is simply just reading and hasn't the faintest idea what she is saying !

  • >>They Bring a Knife...We Bring a Gun

    --Barack Obama<<

"Oh Geez! I wish he hadn't said that. Oh well, I'll just ignore that and continue my ignarant dump on Sarah Palin."

--Ignorant Leftist When did the need for logical consistency ever stop a Leftist?

  • When the Left starts losing, it's time to change the subject away from the substance of arguments--because they lose on the substance--and focus entirely on the rhetoric of their opponents. Otherwise, Leftists get unhinged and violent, like Casey Brezik of whom you probably never heard. That's because there's no advantage at all to the Left for you to be informed about what he did in August, so his case was swept under the rug. Check out The American Thinker about him. You're a useful idiot.

  • "I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I'm angry!"

--President Barack Obama on the ACORN mobs threatening corporate executives and their families at their homes. If our discourse is to become more civil, does that leave room for a president like this?

  • @happystance6able There's nothing wrong with anger, it's just an emotion. We don't get to control our emotions. On the other hand, there can be much wrong in violence and in violent rhetoric, which are actions.

  • @Decktrio >>there can be much wrong...in violent rhetoric<< Unless it comes from Barack "The One" Obama. "They Bring a Knife...We Bring a Gun" --Barack Obama. "...I'm itching for a fight on a whole range of issues" --Barack Obama. "I will fight to end them" --Barack Obama. Even in last night's State of the Union: "we have fought fiercely for our beliefs...that's a good thing" Barack Obama, using the language of violence to describe his dealings with people who disagree with him. PASS
  • @Decktrio “These are complicated companies,” one CEO said. Offered another: “We’re competing for talent on an international market.” But President Barack Obama wasn’t in a mood to hear them out. He stopped the conversation and offered a blunt reminder of the public’s reaction to such explanations. “Be careful how you make those statements, gentlemen[...]MY ADMINISTRATION [...]IS THE ONLY THING BETWEEN YOU AND THE PITCHFORKS.”

--Barack Obama, April'09 according to politico(com) with my emphasis

  • >>You're not gonna evoke firearms<<

But if you're Barack Obama, it's ok to evoke pitchforks. If it weren't for double-standards, Leftists would have no standards whatsoever.

  • @happystance6able - ...I think you're missing the point. If this quote from Obama is correct (and the ellipses in it are not leaving out much in the way of context) it would seem to be saying that there is (potentially) grave discontent on the part of the general public toward their capitalist masters, and that the current state is in fact (primarily) the protector of the opulence of the few from the wrath of the common man.

And he happens to be correct. This goes back to "the founders."

  • @OccidentalMan "capitalist masters"

There have been no capitalist masters since the abolition of slavery. Your entire philosophy is founded on a fallacious metaphor. Pavarotti was more productive as a singer than I could ever be, no matter how much harder I worked at singing than he did. He was just born with a golden voice but his greater productivity was reflected by how much more money he made singing than I ever could make. But that didn't make Pavarotti my capitalist master in any way.

  • Obama to His Followers: "Get in Their Faces!"

If our discourse is to become more civil, does that leave room for Barack Obama?

  • "They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun"

    --Barack Obama

If our discourse is to become more civil, does that leave room for Barack Obama?

  • "I will be happy to see the Republicans test whether or not I’m itching for a fight on a whole range of issues. I suspect they will find I am."

    --President Obama to USA TODAY.

If our discourse is to become more civil, does that leave room for Barack Obama and his O-bots?

  • "I will fight to end them"

    --President Barack Obama, December 2010

Threatening violence to end laws forbidding his government from stealing people's hard-earned property. If our discourse is to become more civil, does that leave room for Barack Obama?

  • Here's Chris Matthews in 2009 evoking exploding co2 pellets in the head of somebody he disagrees with:

    watch?v=pHmNPbDPj3k

Funny, I don't remember any discussion of the need for civility back then from the Left. Oh yeah, the Left still thought their grand schemes were going to work back then so they didn't think they were losing the argument yet. No need for civility then.

  • Given the president's finding it fun to think about people who disagree with him dropping dead:

    watch?v=TKCPUD0NXVA

    and his candid words here:

    watch?v=rAhwTQ784IY

and his deep roots as a community agitator for an inherently uncivil movement exposed here:

    watch?v=6896nsdYOIM

...if our discourse is to become more civil, does that leave room for Barack Obama? If Leftists can't be civil around their opponents, should their opponents back down and hand power over to those Leftists?

  • @happystance7able see, the sad part is, as soon as a lefty sees beck, they ignore the meaning, and take it for lies and fear mongering... its sad really... he could be explaining why 2+2=4 and their response would just be "hes full of !@#&" with out even listening to what he's saying

  • @TheWyatt007 Good point, but they're fun to annoy too; like chasing squirrels around my backyard with a tennis racquet. ;-)

  • @happystance7able >>like chasing squirrels around my backyard with a tennis racquet<<

Ooops! Sorry for being so "uncivil"! BTW How many times has Barack Obama said "I will fight..." in his speeches?

  • ....but in fact usayans realise that there have to be some broken rules (and/or water) on the path so that the result is what it is. guess what, this phenomenon among other such alikes has ruined quite something, reached an assumed goal or not. f.ex. creationist vs. education, televangelism vs. sanity. and so on.

  • "Civility and the era of Sarah" be fucking real

  • I totally disagree, I don't think Palin will run at all because she is not interested in work, she is interested in money!!! This is why she quit being governor...

  • @tempemonkey

Yeah, I know. Don't you love these people that call her a successful woman, when she couldn't even last one term as Governor?

  • Palin's cross-hairs are equivalent to photo-shopping head-shot wounds on Palin herself, Bachmann, Angle, any number of other Take Back America wingers and then calling them pimples.

And WTF is with the lion roar on certain candidates at washingtonpost. com/ wp-srv/special/politics/ palin_tracker/

  • i'm sick of Palin (I)

  • look up "MAP FAIL: 3 maps MSNBC will NEVER show as much as THE ONE!"

  • this hole "targeting map" isnt anything new... they were used at least twice, in the bush years, by Democrats... the only difference is, Palin's map was the most recent in regards to the shooting. so what is it? is it cool to use "targeting maps," or should we be fair and say they were all in bad taste...?

  • @TheWyatt007 Reloaad (alone without Beck, Rush, Levin, AJ, La Rouche, Bachman,Death Panel, Rove, Dick, L. Cheney, Billo, etc. pp )

  • She's also capable of her attempts to be "cute" by being a ditz and not answering questions.

  • @YaoiHuntressEarth that just comes with being a chick... and it only works on guys...

  • I can't believe this bitch actually used the term "blood libel." She is one sick bitch. I wonder if she bothered look up the term before she used it. Probably not. She doesn't even know what magazines or newspapers she reads.

  • @Hereticbooks Since Alan Dershowitz say's she used the term " blood libel" correctly i think i will go with that . A successful woman really scares the hell out of an old fool like you doesn't it ?

  • @hanksnow82

I AM a successful woman. What are you?

  • @Hereticbooks Trust when i say you are long way from successful

  • @hanksnow82 Alan Dershowitz is a douche bag who'd sell his own grandmother up the river if he thought he could get a tax break. That fact that you would regard one Jew's opinion over the chorus of condemnation from the majority of Jewish public response speaks to your considerable lack of effort in trying to understanding why it might be offensive. Perhaps you need to educate yourself.

  • @brandnutopian Who in particular in the jewish community that has condemed the use of the term " blood libel" as used by Palin are you refering to . While you may dislike Alan Dershowitz i belive he would be about as a definitive expert on the proper usage of this term as there is .

  • @hanksnow82 A short list of those folks who were offended:

Jeffrey Goldberg from in The Atlantic

    The Huffington Post's Howard Fineman

Robert Lehrman, a former speechwriter for Vice President Al Gore

Kathleen Hall Jamieson, co-author of "Presidents Creating the Presidency: Deeds Done in Words"

    National Jewish Democratic Council

    Jeremy Ben-Ami

Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League

David Harris, president of the National Jewish Democratic Council.

  • @brandnutopian You had me on the floor laughing by the time i got to the Huffington Post

  • @hanksnow82

as though you'd have any way of knowing.

  • @Hereticbooks But it scares you that i do know .

  • @hanksnow82

hehehe dream on, babe. Dream on.

  • @hanksnow82 Yeah right, we're scared of Palin because she's a woman. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with giving the nuke codes to the village idiot.

  • @Tapecutter59 Your opinion does not count (A) because you are not an American (B) because you believe in Gorebull warming (which makes you an idiot) .

  • @hanksnow82 In other words you ignore opinions that differ from you own and are thus incapable of learning.

  • @hanksnow82 So 99% of scientist are idiots? Where did you study science?

  • @mrgrieves66 If you think 99% of scientists believe in Gorebull warming you have bigger problems then i am prepared to address .

  • OMG! I surely HOPE this bitch wins the nomination.

  • If the repubs/teabaggers were to stop demonizing opposition and framing everything with Christianese apocalyptic rhetoric...how could they get votes?

"Hi - we're hoping you're still dumb enough to vote for us without the fear mongering?"

  • Did she say "proport" ?

What is she trying to say ?

  • Seems like it has gone from three stooges at rest to three stooges in eye gouging mode.

  • Civility and Sarah Palin are a contradiction in terms.

  • I doubt discourse will become more civil. Instead it seems like this civility debate is _yet another_ distraction from actual issues and _yet another_ platform for partisan media shenanigans, as we've already seen in the past week. Heck Palin broadcasting on all media channels her outrage at people trying to silence her (who exactly?) shows reality gets the back seat as always.

If you want to know why, just compare CSPAN's ratings that of the useless tripe broadcast on the cable "news" outlets.

  • Sarah Palin's greatest accomplishment is..Captain of her own Banana Boat.

  • outrage!
