The Japanese final boss theme is called "Final Fury".

The Song Final Fury is Japanese only. I have indeed betten the game twice and rematched the final boss sevral times, so I know. I never noticed the diffrences till now be cause they are so small.

Quite simple. I feel it's overrated even to this day. It did nothing to move the series forward and I feel people only like it so much because Metal Sonic's in it and it's one of few truly standout titles on an otherwise crappy system.

I always enjoyed the story SA2 had to offer and yeah, even though Sonic didn't fight Eggman, the second fight with Tails was kind of emotional concerning the cutscene prior to it.

@peanut3423 I think you misunderstand the quality of Sonic CD. My guess is much of the reason people like it is the way it feels. Somehow, the player feels like they have Sonic closer at their finger tips than some of the genesis/mega drive games. The different type of music (Jap or US), the figure 8, the alternate level design, and just the way the game flows. I played all the genesis games when they came out and this game on PC. Loved them all. It has nothing to do with the system.

The result is a unique game that appeals to anyone who like exploration and/or speed. Easy to get into (and even complete on 1st try), hard as fuck to master.

Sonic 3 and Knuckles, clearly. Clever level design - especially due to unique characters traversing the same levels differently - better boss battles and tons of hours of gameplay due to the fantastic unlockables. Overall, it's one of the most complete platforming experiences I've ever played.

the us soundtrack came across so lazy, they changed a lot of the music and used it repeatedly, the opening theme was used also as the ending theme and the final boss theme was used for every boss in the game.

the original jap soundtrack that was also used in the uk had 2 different themes for the opening and the ending theme and the final boss theme was different from every other boss theme in the game

This was back in the old days when Robotnik was actually a force to be reckoned with. He augmented his menacing level even further with Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2, but then he sadly became a pansy villain afterwards. Which leads me to ask... why on Earth did Sega not have Jim Cummings reprise his role as Robotnik after Deem Bristow (another awesome Doctor) died? Instead we have the annoying Mike Pollock to deal with.
