I've had two 'Flatties' I've lost to cancer. Miss them terribly! Now have a Flat-Coat mix that has that same special personality. People who know Flatties come up and talk to me all the time. Watched a dog show once where the commentator said Flat- Coats are the best kept secret in dogdom. They are the most incredible dogs! Absolutely!

I have a Flat Coat too and her name is Trinity! She was adopted from the shelter here on June 2, 2007. She is great around the cats!

From what i'v seen and read, Flat-Coated Retrievers are good with other dogs and people, but i just want to know if anyone here would reccomend one for somone with a golden-doodle and 5 people in the household? anyone?

I have two flat coated retrievers. I adopted them from the animal shelter last year. They are the best dogs ever. My family has had 10 dogs and flat coats are by far the best dogs.

I'm getting a flat coat as my first dog, I'm really excited cause my parents have promised it can be pretty much all mine. I'm prepared for the responsability but obviously because of my inexpeirence they have made it clear what they will have input on and what happens if i dont care for it correctly. umm...but looking at them..IM SOOOOO EXCITED!!!

What beautiful dogs! Flat-coated retrievers are so wonderful. I think my dog is part flat coated but I am not entirely sure because he came from the pound

My Flat coated retriever was the best dog I ever have. Sad thing is that he left us, when he was 4 years old due to bone cancer. We miss him, but now he already rest in peace.
